Abstract

Video-on-demand (VOD) services have transformed media consumption globally, with platforms such as Netflix and local providers like Vidio gaining popularity in Indonesia. This study explores the impact of VOD on user behaviours, demographic influences, and health implications in Indonesia, whereby rapid internet expansion drives its adoption. This study aimed to explore how VOD consumption affects daily habits as well as how binge-watching affects health. This research focuses on Indonesia’s unique context with a survey of 422 respondents to analyse VOD habits, and quantitative statistical methods were applied to assess behavioural patterns based on demographic variables. Findings reveal that younger users are the primary consumers of VOD, often engaging with media during work or study hours, resulting in sleep disruption and mental health concerns such as anxiety. Gender differences were notable, with female respondents reporting higher sleep disturbances. Binge-watching behaviour was strongly correlated with health impacts, emphasising the need for better viewing habits. The study concludes that while VOD has enhanced media access and diversity, it has also introduced health risks, particularly for younger audiences. These findings provide valuable insights for VOD platforms and policymakers aiming to promote balanced media consumption. Future research should examine broader demographic trends and long-term effects.

Abstract

Facebook has developed into much more than just a social media platform since its 2004 launch, changing the way businesses engage with their customers and emerging as a powerful player in the field of digital marketing. Due to the increased attention this evolution has received from academia, extensive research has been conducted on a number of Facebook marketing-related topics, such as customer engagement, brand building, and consumer data collection. Using Scopus as a data source, we conducted a bibliometric analysis in this study to thoroughly review the literature on Facebook marketing and identify important trends, hotspots, and areas in need of further research. 133 pertinent publications from 2009 to 2023 were found by our analysis, underscoring Facebook's significance in digital marketing. This study sheds light on several Facebook marketing research themes, including the efficacy of advertising, consumer behavior on social networks, ethics, and privacy. Furthermore, we found that research is scattered worldwide indicating differences in digital marketing connected to society, economy, and culture. Topics such artificial intelligence, cross-cultural marketing, and the consequences of Facebook algorithm modifications still have more to be discovered even with the wealth of studies. This study supports the relevance of Facebook in digital marketing, indicates areas that demand more research for a better knowledge of the successful use of Facebook in marketing strategies, and provides insight for academics and practitioners.

The conclusion from this research is that post-COVID-19 pandemic marketing communications for temple tourism destinations from the visitor's point of view have not been fully implemented. Because based on visitors, word of mouth is the strongest factor for visitors visiting temple tourist destinations.

The topic itself is still warm material to be discussed for their upcoming policy. Electric transportation policies vary significantly between different countries as governments strive to reduce carbon emissions, promote energy efficiency, and transition to more sustainable modes of transportation. These policies encompass a range of measures, including incentives for electric vehicle (EV) adoption, infrastructure development, emissions regulations, and research funding.

Abstract

The spread of dark jokes through social media such as Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram has increased significantly. Differences in individual characteristics such as age, gender, trauma experience, and intensity of social media use also shape subjective perceptions and meanings of dark jokes. This study uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method to reveal the layers of denotative and connotative meanings of dark jokes in Tretan Muslim video content. Data were obtained through observation of content on Instagram and YouTube, then analyzed with two main stages in Barthes' framework, namely identification of the sign system (signifier and signified) and exploration of myths or ideologies that form dominant meanings. The findings of this study indicate that dark jokes in Tretan Muslim video content not only function as entertainment, but also represent socio-political criticism through a system of layered signs. At the connotative level, the humor becomes a means of demythologizing dominant ideologies such as nepotism, institutional inequality, and hegemony of power, which are packaged symbolically through irony, hyperbole, and intertextuality so that they can be accepted by the wider public.

Abstract

Sprite is a widely recognised beverage brand renowned for its popular carbonated soft drinks worldwide. Among the various marketing models available, there exists a multitude of models that include diverse data. However, Sprite is demonstrating a distinct approach. This study employed the Krippendorf Content Analysis approach to examine the Sprite Digital marketing Communication operations on Social media. Therefore, Sprite's commitment to a specific marketing strategy aimed at a significant objective demonstrates their capacity for sustainable development. The intricacy of Sprite's operational processes is once again demonstrated through the utilisation of digital content analysis
