Abstract

The emergence of internet streaming platforms has precipitated a fundamental transformation in the landscape of movie culture, transitioning it from conventional to digital formats. The advent of streaming platforms such as Netflix has significantly transformed the patterns of media consumption and the strategies employed for its promotion. Despite the novelty and appeal of this medium, particularly among younger generations, promotional strategies continue to rely on utilising content and streaming services to effectively engage customers. Content analysis is a research method employed to assess advertising strategies, with a specific emphasis on the utilisation of colour coding and cultural representation. The present study included a diverse range of advertising materials sourced from prominent streaming platforms across a span of time. This study focuses on the analysis of promotional colour schemes in order to identify recurring patterns or 'codes' associated with specific genres or topics. Furthermore, we analyse the utilisation of cultural elements in the promotional strategies employed by these platforms. These techniques have demonstrated a high level of effectiveness in effectively engaging their intended audience and enhancing awareness of the platform.

Abstract

This study examines a digital marketing communication model utilized by Trendy Noodle Station @youneedmie.official, a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. This study is driven by the increasing prevalence of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, with a specific focus on Warmindo (Warung Mie Indonesia or Indonesian Noodle Stall). Warmindo offers employment prospects for persons who are currently unemployed, enabling them to generate income. This study examines the context and significance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the economic framework of Indonesia. It highlights the inherent characteristics of MSMEs, such as their simplicity and adaptability, which facilitate self-management.The author used Krippendorf's content analysis approach to investigate the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in facilitating self-employment opportunities for those who are currently unemployed. This approach enables a methodical analysis of the several facets pertaining to the digital marketing methods employed by @youneedmie.official. The results of the study demonstrate the efficacy of digital marketing communication techniques in augmenting consumer engagement and improving sales performance.  The findings of this study indicate that the adoption of a professional digital marketing communication strategy can have a substantial positive impact on the business performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)

Abstract

Mixue's Ice Cream and Tea became famous in Indonesia through the spread of their branches. They’re predicted to surpass McDonald’s in a few years. Their fast growth drives the reaction that they’re Ruko Kosong hunters, or the hunters of empty shop buildings. With its quick spread, Mixue becomes an important name to be analyzed with SWOT analysis, which would detail how Mixue stands on its own. The name immortality or collective branches has two different sides ever since the existence of Mixue. Mixue is a method whose name in a franchise doesn’t matter.

Abstract

The extensive use of social media by Indonesian marketers has encouraged local cosmetic company, Rose All Day Cosmetics, to use Instagram as a sales promotion and endorsement platform. Petty & Cacioppo's Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) theory is used in this study, such as the attractiveness theory of promotional messages, endorsement theory, and buying interest theory. These conditions underlie this research which aims to see whether the attractiveness of sales promotion messages, endorsements from beauty influencers have an impact on buying interest. This research is a quantitative explanatory study that relies on surveys as a data collection tool. Questionnaires were distributed to the study population via Instagram's direct message feature to the 102,000 followers of the account, who used the Yamane formula for Rose All Day Cosmetics. This study uses a non-probability sampling technique called purposive sampling, which involves selecting 398 people who meet predetermined criteria. Multiple linear regression is the data analysis method used in this study. The researcher found that the attractiveness of sales promotion messages on the Rose All Day Cosmetics Instagram account and endorsements by beauty influencers had a significant effect on followers' purchase intentions up to 53.2 percent, with the remaining 48.7 percent influenced by factors outside the study. However, these two variables have a significant effect on followers' purchase intentions. In conclusion, the attractiveness of sales promotion messages and endorsements has a significant effect on followers' buying interest partially or simultaneously on each of the variables studied

Abstract

The film “KKN di Desa Penari” is based on a true story that went viral on Twitter in 2019. After being delayed for 2 years, the film “KKN di Desa Penari” premiered on April 30, 2022 and became the highest-grossing mystical film of all time. This film has the power of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) through social media Twitter and YouTube in building virtual communities where people gather to respond and talk about the stories in this film. This study aims to determine the level of structure and groups in conversational communication networks. on Twitter and YouTube comments about the film “KKN di Desa Penari”. This research is a positivism paradigm research that uses a quantitative approach. The process of collecting data and visualizing data was using Netlytic and Gephi applications. The results of this study indicate that the density figure in the discussion about the film “KKN di Desa Penari” on Twitter with a low intensity of communication between actors. It is also seen that in the conversation on Twitter there are five actors with the highest indegree (intensity of being mentioned, retweeted or replied to), they are @habisnontonfilm, @simpem8137823, @Merapi_uncover, @onyoum_arkeeu and @luvfiqy. Meanwhile, YouTube user Willa Widiana has the highest indegree score on YouTube. However, no one showed a high outdegree (intensity of mentioning, retweeting or replying) either on Twitter or Youtube.

Abstract

News about the COVID-19 vaccine has raised doubts among society, thus forming a COVID-19 vaccine rejection group. The rejection of the COVID-19 vaccine resulted in a negative portrayal of the COVID-19 vaccine refusers in mass media. This study uses the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing analysis method which is expected to be able to describe the framing of the issue of rejection of the COVID-19 vaccine by Kompas.com and Suara.com. The results of this study indicate that the two media frame the issue of imposing fines and terminating social security for those who refuse to vaccinate against COVID-19 as imposing citizens' rights and threatening people's freedoms. The conclusion of this study is that the framing of Kompas.com and Suara.com news is influenced by several things, namely the positioning of journalists, the use of news sources, and the use of words in describing an event.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the Framing Analysis of Reporting on Electric Transportation Subsidies in Indonesia during 2023 by Tirto ID. EV becoming more discussed in today’s digital age, and some online in-depth news outlet is picking this discourse as part of participating in voicing the accurate news, which includes Tirto ID. With framing analysis, we can see how good, phrased news is still lacking in geographic source value despite the good narration in contributing to their media opinion. The topic itself is still warm material to be discussed for their upcoming policy. Electric transportation policies vary significantly between different countries as governments strive to reduce carbon emissions, promote energy efficiency, and transition to more sustainable modes of transportation. These policies encompass a range of measures, including incentives for electric vehicle (EV) adoption, infrastructure development, emissions regulations, and research funding.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas representasi maskulinitas dalam film-film sayap kiri Indonesia, yang dibuat sebelum dan sesudah reformasi 1998. Film sayap kiri adalah film yang menceritakan tentang politik pada tahun 1965 dan berfokus fokus pada kontroversi Partai Komunis Indonesia (PKI). Beberapa film sayap kiri memposisikan PKI dan simpatisannya sebagai dalang di balik kudeta tahun 1965, tetapi ada juga yang menempatkan tokoh dan simpatisan komunis sebagai korban kekejaman pihak lain. Penelitian ini mempelajari tiga film, yaitu Pengkhianatan G30 S PKI, Sang Penari, dan Jagal-Act of Killing. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis hubungan yang didasarkan pada konsep hubungan kekuasaan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa rokok digunakan sebagai representasi maskulinitas tokoh-tokoh klasik dalam film-film sayap kiri Indonesia. Dalam semua film ini, rokok menjadi alat stigmatisasi bagi orang lain. Dalam film Pengkhianatan G 30 S / PKI, rokok digunakan untuk mewakili maskulinitas tokoh-tokoh terkemuka PKI, khususnya DN Aidit. Dalam film Sang Penari, seorang tokoh sentral bernama Bakar digambarkan sebagai seorang provokator komunis yang tidak dapat berhenti merokok. Sebaliknya Jagal, menggambarkan Anwar Kongo, ketua organisasi massa Pemuda Pancasila yang mengaku membantai lebih dari seribu komunis di Medan, dengan gambaran negatif. Kongo distigmatisasi oleh rokok yang selalu mengepul di mulutnya. This article discusses the representation of masculinity in Indonesian left-wing films, which were made before and after the 1998 reform. Left-wing films are those which tell about the politics in 1965 and focus on the controversial Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). Some of the left-wing films position the PKI and its sympathizers as the masterminds behind a coup d’etat occurred in 1965, but there are also those which place communist figures and sympathizers as victims of the savagery of others. This research studies three films, namely Pengkhianatan G30 S PKI, Sang Penari, and Jagal-Act of Killing. The method used in this research is a relationship analysis that based on power relations concept. The research finds that cigarettes are used as a representation of masculinity of classical figures in Indonesian left-wing films. In all of these films, cigarettes become a stigmatizing tool for others. In the film Pengkhianatan G 30 S / PKI, cigarette is used to represent the masculinity of PKI’s leading figures, especially DN Aidit. In the film Sang Penari, a central figure named Bakar is described as a communist provocator who cannot cease wanting cigarette as well. on the contrary, the Jagal, portrays Anwar Congo, chairman of mass organization Pancasila Youth which claimed to slaughter more than a thousand communists in Medan, in a negative way. Congo is stigmatized by cigarettes that always billowed in his mouth.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the digital marketing model of the Indonesian Digital Cellular Operator BYU which is the backbone of the profession in Indonesia and is available in various sectors or industries. ByU is one of the companies that is able to combine two spectrums in their digital marketing through the official Instagram account @byu.id. Through their Instagram account, they introduced a marketing model where the color palette determines cultural diversity and uses slang such as friendzone to combine it.
