Abstract

Religious moderation is a fundamental concept in Islamic teachings that prioritizes the principles of balance, justice and tolerance, both in religious and social life. In facing the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of modern times such as radicalism, gender inequality, human rights violations, and environmental crises, a moderate approach to religion is an important strategy in maintaining harmony, harmony, and diversity. This research aims to explore the relevance of religious moderation in the contemporary social context by highlighting the importance of reinterpreting Islamic teachings based on the values of gender justice, respect for human rights, and rejection of all forms of violence in the name of religion. Through a study of contemporary Islamic thought and the maqashid sharia approach (the main purpose of sharia), this study reveals that religious moderation can be used as a foundation in the formation of character education, the development of inclusive public policies, and the strengthening of constructive interfaith dialog. This approach not only plays a role in overcoming social polarization, but also in building a just, equal and sustainable society. Thus, religious moderation in Islam is not just a middle-of-the-road attitude, but an active commitment to the values of civilization, social justice and peace. The findings of this study confirm that a moderate and contextualized Islam is able to contribute to a just and sustainable society.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of faith (‘aqidah), ethics (akhlaq), and Sufism (tasawwuf) as the foundational elements in cultivating comprehensive religious awareness among Muslims. Employing a qualitative methodology through a literature review, the research delves into the historical, philosophical, and conceptual interplay of these three dimensions and underscores their collective significance in addressing the challenges posed by modernity, secularism, and moral relativism. While ‘aqidah establishes the core beliefs of a Muslim, akhlaq guides social and interpersonal conduct, and tasawwuf nurtures the spiritual depth and inner purification. Historically, the compartmentalization or neglect of one or more of these aspects has resulted in an imbalanced understanding and practice of Islam, often diminishing its transformative potential. This paper argues that a holistic integration of these three pillars is essential for developing a well-rounded Muslim identity—one that is intellectually grounded, ethically responsible, and spiritually conscious. Furthermore, integrative character education rooted in Islamic teachings is presented as a strategic and sustainable model for nurturing rational, moral, and spiritually aware individuals in contemporary contexts. The findings highlight the need to revisit classical Islamic educational frameworks and adapt them to current realities to ensure a meaningful and resilient religious life.

Abstract

This research discusses the empirical historical approach in Islamic studies as one of the scientific methods used to understand Islam not only as a normative teaching but also as a historical phenomenon. This approach examines primary and secondary sources through verification of historical data and critical analysis of the socio-cultural context of a period. In modern Islamic studies, this approach is important because it is able to reveal the historical dynamics of the development of Islamic teachings, institutions and thoughts objectively. This research uses a qualitative method based on literature study, with results showing that the empirical historical approach has significant epistemological, methodological, and practical implications. The empirical historical approach in Islamic studies offers a more comprehensive view of Islam as an entity that develops in time and space. This approach does not only focus on theological or normative aspects, but also examines how Islamic teachings are practiced, interpreted and developed according to specific social, political and cultural contexts. By tracing the dynamics of history and using empirical evidence from the past, researchers can describe the transformation of Islamic thought and institutions more objectively and avoid ideological bias. In a methodological context, this approach requires precision in sorting and interpreting historical sources, both primary sources such as manuscripts, official documents, and secondary sources such as the results of previous studies. The data is analyzed critically by considering the socio-cultural background and power relations that influence an event or thought. The results show that the empirical historical approach not only enriches the treasures of Islamic scholarship, but also makes a real contribution in formulating Islamic responses to the challenges of modernity and contemporary social change.

Abstract

The rise of internet use is certainly one of the causes of character change in Generation Z. People in Generation Z were born at a time when technology spread across the world, therefore their familiarity with gadgets has a significant influence on their personality. To live along with the times, of course, character education should take part in it, one of which is by presenting values of leadership that can be emulated by the current generation, such as those of one of the Prophet's companions, namely Caliph Umar bin Khattab. This research uses literature study research methodology, which is the process of collecting materials related to research from books, journals, literature, and other publications that deserve to be used as sources for further research by the author. As a result, several values of leadership Umar bin Khattab can be emulated because they are considered relevant to the current moral condition of Gen Z, namely the value of Umar bin Khattab's religiosity in embracing Islam and always struggling in da'wah, the value of his courage in upholding justice, upholding high tolerance values between religious communities, holding the principle of simplicity in the midst of the wealth he has, and always working hard by exerting all the efforts he has without getting tired.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' character at SMA N 1 Sangata Utara. Specifically, this research will examine how PAI teachers implement religious education that not only imparts knowledge but also instills moral and ethical values that support the development of students' character. The focus of the study is on the methods and approaches used by teachers in their teaching. It is hoped that this study will provide a clearer picture of the contribution of PAI teachers in creating a generation of youth who are not only knowledgeable but also virtuous and prepared to face societal challenges. This research uses a qualitative approach with field study methods to describe and analyze the phenomena observed in the field. The findings show that PAI teaching at SMA N 1 Sangata Utara does not only focus on academic achievement but also creates an educational ecosystem that shapes students into intellectually capable, emotionally mature, and morally upright individuals.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Kabupaten Kutai Timur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana Pengelolaan Dana Zakat di Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Kabupaten Kutai Timur apakah sesuai dengan hukum Islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif kemudian pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan studi kasus. Untuk memperoleh data dan informasi yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pihak yang diwawancarai adalah Kepala Badan Amil Zakat Nasional, Kepala Bidang, dan Staf di Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Kabupaten Kutai Timur. Setelah data yang diperlukan diperoleh, maka tahap selanjutnya peneliti melakukan analisis. Tahapan-tahapan yang dilakukan peneliti dalam menganalisis data adalah mereduksi data yaitu merangkum dan memilih hal-hal yang pokok, setelah itu peneliti menyajikan data dalam bentuk uraian singkat menggunakan kata-kata atau kalimat untuk menggambarkan data yang telah diperoleh, selanjutnya pada tahap akhir peneliti menarik kesimpulan dari data yang telah diperoleh. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan pengelolaan dana zakat di Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Kabupaten Kutai Timur sudah berjalan dengan baik, karena sudah sesuai dengan syari’at Islam. Zakat yang telah terkumpul didistribusikan kepada orang atau golongan yang berhak menerimanya. Hasil pengumpulan zakat tersebut disetorkan kepada BAZNAS Kutai Timur dan dilaporkan berkala kepada Muzakki, serta memberikan Laporan Tahunan Kepada Bupati Kutai Timur dengan tembusan Kepala Kantor Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Kutai Timur.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui Penerapan Pernyataan Standar Akuntansi Keuangan No. 109 mengenai Penyajian Laporan Keuangan Dana Zakat, Infaq dan Shadaqah ini diterapkan oleh Lembaga Amil Zakat Dana Peduli Umat Kaltim Cabang Kutai Timur. Sehingga mengetahui sudah sejauh mana penerapan Pernyataan Standar Akuntansi Keuangan No. 109 dan  kesesuaian antara Akuntansi Zakat pada LAZ DPU dengan PSAK No. 109. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan yang bersifat kualitatif, yakni sebagai prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif analisis berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari para tokoh dan perilaku yang diamati. Untuk mendapatkan data yang akurat maka penulis datang langsung ke lokasi penelitian yakni Kantor LAZ DPU Kaltim Cabang Kutai Timur. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Akuntansi zakat Pada LAZ DPU Kaltim Cabang Kutai Timur menggunakan pencatatan harian yaitu pencatatan dari seluruh transaksi dilakukan pada saat menerima kas dan menyalurkan kas. Akun-akun yang tercantum dalam PSAK No. 109 tentang akuntansi zakat, infaq dan shadaqah lebih terperinci dan tidak dibatasi, sesuai dengan kebutuhan akuntansi organisasi pengelola zakat. Dan bentuk laporan keuangan yang dibuat LAZ DPU Kaltim Cabang Kutai Timur adalah, laporan sumber dan penggunaan dana dan laporan penerimaan dan penggunaan dana. Pada saat ini laporan keuangannya hanya menggunakan laporan arus kas dan pencatatan laporan lainnya dilakukan oleh pusat. Sedangkan sebuah laporan keuangan menurut PSAK No. 109 menggunakan lima laporan keuangan yaitu: neraca, laporan sumber dan penggunaan dana, laporan perubahan asset kelolaan, laporan arus kas, dan catatan atas laporan keuangan.
