Abstract

This study is motivated by the low effectiveness of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools, which is still dominated by conventional teaching methods and lacks connection to students’ real-life contexts. This condition affects students’ engagement, learning independence, and overall achievement. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing student worksheets (LKPD) based on the local wisdom of Sedekah Bumi in improving fifth-grade students’ language competencies. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using the One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were 19 fifth-grade students of SDN Karangpuri 2. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, as well as student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed a significant improvement between pretest and posttest scores, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average N-Gain score was 0.5444, which falls into the moderate category, indicating that the use of LKPD based on local wisdom is sufficiently effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. In addition, the language aspect achieved a very good category, while the structure, content, and effectiveness aspects were categorized as good. The integration of local wisdom into LKPD creates contextual learning, increases student motivation, and facilitates understanding of the material. Thus, LKPD based on local wisdom is proven to be an effective innovation in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study was motivated by elementary school students’ limited understanding of local wisdom and the scarcity of contextual teaching materials, particularly regarding listening skills. Learning that does not integrate local culture results in students being less familiar with the values in their environment and less actively engaged in the learning process. In fact, the integration of local wisdom into learning plays a crucial role in character development and enhances the meaningfulness of learning. This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on local wisdom using the Balinese folktale “Kebo Iwa” and to determine their validity and practicality among second-grade elementary school students. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluate. The research subjects were second-grade students at SDN Kandangan III. Data collection was conducted using expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis employed quantitative descriptive analysis using Likert and Guttman scales to determine the product’s feasibility. The results indicated that the developed worksheets achieved a validity rate of 92%, classified as highly valid. The practicality rate, based on teacher responses, was 91%, and based on student responses, 86%, both falling into the highly practical category. These findings indicate that the LKPD based on local wisdom is suitable for use as teaching material in listening comprehension instruction for second-grade elementary school students. Thus, the development of this LKPD not only supports the improvement of listening skills but also contributes to instilling local cultural values and creating contextual and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of fifth-grade elementary school students in writing observation report texts and the limited availability of teaching materials relevant to the students' environment. The primary objective of this study is to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on the local wisdom of the Sambatan tradition and to test its validity and practicality in Indonesian language learning. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques included validation sheets from material and media experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results indicated that the Sambatan tradition-based LKPD was declared valid with an average percentage of 69.4%. The practicality level of the product fell into the highly practical category, with a student response score of 85.3% and a teacher response score of 95.0%. The research findings reveal that the integration of local content is effective in reducing students' cognitive load and increasing learning motivation through contextual materials.
