Abstract

Science teacher's role in improving the quality of learning is an urgent problem that must be realized. To encourage ongoing activities, the teacher needs to review / discuss activities, identify the obstacles programs that have been implemented, as well as practicing teachers' activities focused on developing lesson plans. Efforts that can be done is through mentoring and building-based learning Science Technology Literacy (STL) and the local potential. Some of the activities that have been carried out, namely socialization program, Counseling, Training, Mentoring, Teaching Dissemination of Results and Build Networking Skills. Based on the results of the activities as much as 60% of the 10 science teachers in SMP-SMA Negeri 1 Sesayap not understand the STL and the development of local potential. After the training and mentoring as many as 10 teachers have been able to make the device and implement STL learning and developing local potential in the classroom.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini dalah untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etnosains pada lahan basah di Kalimantan Selatan berdasarkan aspek sosio-kultural. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada masyarakat jalan teluk Gampa Kelurahan Sungai Jingah Banjarmasin. Pengambilan data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi dan wawancara. Sedangkan data sekunder dari studi literatur mengenai sosio kultural masyarakat Kalimantan selatan. Pengukuran sosio-kultural berkaitan dengan kesejahteraan manusia di lahan basah. Kriteria dalam kajian sosio-kultural meliputi  nilai terapeutik, nilai kemudahan, nilai warisan, nilai spiritual, dan nilai keberadaan. Kelima nilai tersebut telah dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Namun pada nilai kemudahan masih kurang maksimal terutama terkait keberadaan tempat pariwisata di daerah lahan basah tersebut.

Abstract

Waste is very serious problem, especially in the Tarakan area. One of the ways to manage waste is through empowering the young generation in 4R-based waste managing (reduce, reuse, recycle and replace). This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach through the type of pre-experiment. This study measures the knowledge, skills and attitudes of students in Department of Elementary Teacher School in University of Borneo Tarakan. The pre-experiment research design carried out was one pretest-posttest group on observing student knowledge, and one shot case study on observing skills and attitudes. aspects of knowledge obtained an average before the activity of 50,625 and the average after activity amounted to 79,13889. On the skill aspect, the results obtained on a 1-5 Likert scale on a reduce of 4.5; reuse of 4.25; recycle 4.12; and replace 3.98. The attitude aspect was obtained at 80% in affective, and 76.5% in conative.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tren topik artikel ilmiah Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Borneo Tarakan yang dipublikasikan tahun 2015-2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pendekatan Kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian Studi Pustaka (Library Research). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah artikel ilmiah Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Borneo Tarakan yang dipublikasikan tahun 2015-2021. Kategori yang dilihat adalah topik penelitian, tahun publikasi, jurnal publikasi, pendekatan dan jenis penelitian. Artikel ilmiah yang terkumpul berdasarkan data yang dipublikasikan di jurnal publikasi yaitu 53 dokumen artikel ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tren topik artikel ilmiah Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi UBT adalah terkait Media, Bahan ajar, Sumber Belajar dengan persentase rata-rata 18.9%, Etnobiologi dengan persentase rata-rata 17.0%, dan Strategi pembelajaran Pengajaran dengan persentase rata-rata 15.1%. Selanjutnya, pendekatan yang paling banyak digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan nilai persentase 38% dan jenis penelitian Survei. Publikasi artikel ilmiah yang tertinggi dalam enam tahun terakhir (2015-2021) berada pada tahun 2019. Sedangkan, untuk distribusi jurnal publikasi yang memuat karya ilmiah Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Borneo Tarakan, terdapat 12 jurnal publikasi yang dipilih oleh mahasiswa untuk menerbitkan karya ilmiahnya. Kata kunciIdentifikasi, Tren topik, Artikel Ilmiah AbstractThis study aims to identify trends in the topic of scientific articles by students of the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Borneo Tarakan which were published in 2015-2021. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The subject of this research is a scientific article by students of the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Borneo Tarakan which was published in 2015-2021. The categories seen are research topics, year of publication, journal of publication, approach and type of research. The scientific articles collected are based on data published in published journals, namely 53 scientific article documents. The results showed that the trend of scientific article topics for Biology Education Students at UBT was related to Media, Teaching Materials, Learning Resources with an average percentage of 18.9%, Ethnobiology with an average percentage of 17.0%, and Learning Teaching Strategies with an average percentage of 15.1%. Furthermore, the most widely used approach is the quantitative approach with a percentage value of 38% and the type of research is Survey. The highest publication of scientific articles in the last six years (2015-2021) was in 2019. Meanwhile, for the distribution of publication journals containing scientific papers on Biology Education at the University of Borneo Tarakan, there were 12 publication journals selected by students to publish their scientific works.Keywords Identification, Topic Trends, Scientific Articles

Abstract

Coastal communities in Sumenep area have a peculiarity in selling seafood to consumers. Generally, fish catchers (sailor) will immediately sell their catch fish in the early hours on the seafront that called penggir papas market. The study was conducted in 3 sub-districts in the Sumenep area located in the coastal area. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively which included: Relative Frequency of Citation, Fidelity Level, and IUCN Status. Based on data collection related to commodity species in the penggir papas market in Sumenep area, there were 24 species. The list of species is grouped into 2 types based on their kingdom namely: Animalia (88%) and Protista (22%). There are 5 species in group I (low interest and low preference), 1 species in group II (high interest and low preference), 1 species in group III (low interest and high preference) and 17 species in group IV (high importance and preference high).Data related to IUCN status are at least 63% of species that have not been evaluated, 4% including endangered, 12% near threatened, 8% least concern and 13% data deficient.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Komik Digital berbasis Platform Instagram pada materi zat aditif pada makanan untuk siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Tarakan. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan metode DBR (Design Based Research ) model Reeves . Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Tarakan yang berjumlah 29 siswa. Keseluruhan data diperoleh berdasarkan skor dari angket penilaian ahli media, ahli materi, angket repon guru dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas komik digital berbasis platform Instagram pada materi zat aditif pada makanan berdasarkan penilaian ahli media meperoleh hasil rata-rata skor sesbesar 80 % ( Kategori Layak ), penilaain ahli materi memperoleh hasil rata-rata skor sebesar 82,5 % ( Kategori Sangat Layak), respon ngket guru memperoleh hasil rata-rata 89 % ( kategori sangat layak ) , respon siswa berdasarkan hasil uji coba skala kecil 88,9 % ( kategori sangat layak ), dan respon siswa berdasarkan hasil uji coba skala besar memperoleh rata-rata skor sebesar 95,3 % (kategori sangat layak).Kata kunciKomik Digital, Isu Sosial Sains, Platform Instagram, Zat Aditif

Abstract

This study aims to identify cases of plant blindness in students of the Biology Education Study Program, University of Borneo Tarakan. The research was carried out pre and post the Plant taxonomy course. This research is a descriptive study, where the measurement of the level of student's plant blindness presents 20 types of plants around the University of Borneo Tarakan. The results showed that 15 types of plants could not be recognized well, with a truth level below 50%. However, after taking the plant taxonomy lecture, students recognized all 20 plant species with a level of truth above 90%.Keywords:  Plant Blindness, Biology Education

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan dan hewan yang digunakan dalam upacara Iraw Tengkayu. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data melalui participatory rural appraisal (PRA). Pemilihan informan dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Informan secara keseluruhan berjumlah 15 orang, yang terdiri dari kepala adat, sando (dukun) dan budayawan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa suku hewan yang digunakan dalam upacara ini hanya pada suku Phasianidae. Sementara itu, pada tumbuhan 2 suku terbanyak yang digunakan adalah Arecaceae (21%) dan  Dipterocarpaceae (13%). Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai materi utama dan tambahan dalam perkuliahan etnobotani dan etnozoologi terutama terkait keaneragaman tumbuhan dan hewan yang digunakan pada kehidupan masyarakat.Kata Kunci:  Etnobotani, Etnozoologi, Iraw Tengkayu, Biologi

Abstract

Abstract: The teaching and learning process in school needs to emphasize the contextual aspect to know the relation between material and life around. One of the media that can be used is herbarium and terrarium. This program provides understanding and training of herbarium and terrarium-making techniques to teachers to be used in the learning process in the classroom, especially in the early classes. This program's result includes: the average of plant identification skill's teacher before the program was 34.5 and after implementation of the program was 85.4. Based on the result of the ability of teacher of making herbarium, the highest score on the aspect of "active involvement in the activity" with an average was 86.5, while the lowest score on the aspect of "making conclusion according to result" with an average was 79, 5. The highest result of the average herbarium product is the completeness of the plant organ, and the completeness of the herbarium with an average value was 100. The lowest value is on the layout of the herbarium, with an average value was 84. In the terrarium making, the results obtained very well, the highest yield on the aspect of the planting media composition, the container's suitability, and the life span of the plant with a value was 100. Keywords : Herbarium, Terrarium, Media

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze trends in Biology Education research for a decade (2011-2020) at the University of Borneo Tarakan. This literature study research used a quantitative approach. The subject in this study was the undergraduate theses of biology education students in 2011-2020 who submitted to the UBT library. The trend was seen from the dimensions of the approach used, the research method, the field of research, and the research sample. The collected theses were based on the data collected from the library, namely 315 theses. The results showed that the quantitative approach had a significant value compared to other approaches with a percentage value of 53%, followed by a combination approach of 37% and a qualitative approach of 10%. Furthermore, based on the fields used, it was found that 84% were in the field of biology education, and 16% were in pure biology. Meanwhile, when viewed from the type/research method, the quasi-experiment and RD with samples were widely used by biology education students at the junior and senior high school levels. Keywords: research trend, approach, type/method, sample
