Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the problems in using the platform as a medium for learning biology for class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan. The research method uses a qualitative approach with an explanatory case study type of research. The research subjects were 59 students of SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan class X MIPA. The data was obtained from the results of online interviews using the zoom meeting platform. The results obtained in the communication aspect 39 students said they had problems, in the media aspect in the form of design 18 students said they had problems, in the media aspect in the form of effectiveness 19 students said they had problems, in the content aspect 18 students had problems and on the technical aspect. internet 59 students said they had problems. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it can be seen that in every aspect there are problems in using the platform as a medium for learning biology in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan. Keywords:  Analysis, Platform, Aspect

Abstract

Suku Thymelaeaceae atau yang lebih dikenal dengan pohon penghasil gaharu merupakan salah satu komoditi kehutanan yang memegang peranan penting baik dalam aspek herbal, komoditi eksport, dan lain-lain. Masyarakat di daerah Tarakan memiliki beberapa pengetahuan tersendiri dalam pemanfaatan tumbuhan penghasil gaharu, missal sebagai obat herbal, dupa, minyak, dan lain-lain. Kayanya pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan gaharu perlu dikaji berdasarkan studi etnobiologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Tarakan di daerah Juata Laut dan Pantai Amal. Hasil penelitian terkait identifikasi jenis-jenis gaharu di Tarakan ditemukan sekitar 5 jenis (spesies). Pemanfaatan gaharu cukup beragam seperti: bahan baku parfum, dupa, teh herbal, kerajinan tangan dan obat herbal. Berdasarkan uji perbandingan pengetahuan terkait jenis gaharu antara 2 daerah didapatkan hasil tidak ada perbedaan pengetahuan antar responden di 2 daerah. Data hubungan sosial pada sosiogram di daerah Juata laut didapatkan data yang sangat kompleks. Beberapa responden pada umumnya memiliki 3 – 4 hubungan umumnya setiap responden memiliki hubungan dengan beberapa responden lain, akan tetapi hubungan terdekat mereka sangat jarang dengan responden yang mereka rekomendasikan. Hubungan sosial pada sosiagram di daerah Pantai Amal lebih sederhana dan umumnya setiap responden terhubung dengan responden selanjutnya yang merupakan responden yang direkomendasikan. Setiap responden juga terhubung dengan 3 – 4 hubungan dengan responden lain.

Abstract

Abstract: Learning in the classroom especially in Elementary School is lack in recognition of issues, so the students are not mastery problemsolving skill. Based in this, It need to introduce student about issueorientedlearning with socioscientific issues to know the effect thislearning to problem solving skill and social attitude. This research usedquantitative approach, pre-experimental reseach, one group pretestposttestdesign. The results of the implementation of this learning wasgood, and the percentage results increased at each meeting. To measurestudents' problem solving skill and social attitude, the results showeddifference between the values before and after treatment. This showedthe influence of issue based learning on social science issues on problemsolving skills and social attitudes

Abstract

Abstract: Leaning in the classroom now need effective and efficient process. Effective and efficient learning process need joyfull learningmedias. The media that have that charaterictics is encyclopedia.Developing an encyclopedia need to insert region’s local potiencies, soit can have uniqueness characteristics. The goals of this reseach anddevelopment are to understand the quality of encyclopedia based onlocal potencies in border region in North Kalimantan at naturalresources content. Its quality are reviewed from experts suitabilityaspect and field test. Reseach approach used research and development.Developing model that was used in this research and development wasmodification of 4D model. Based on the research, assessment resultfrom material expert obtained 87,8% (valid). Assessment result frommedia expert obtained 94% (valid). Asessment result form linguisticexpert obtained 92% (valid). Based on teacher and students assessment,the encyclopedia from teacher was obtained 87.4 and its percentageform students was 83.5%.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini dalah untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etnosains pada lahan basah di Kalimantan Selatan berdasarkan aspek sosio-kultural. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada masyarakat jalan teluk Gampa Kelurahan Sungai Jingah Banjarmasin. Pengambilan data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi dan wawancara. Sedangkan data sekunder dari studi literatur mengenai sosio kultural masyarakat Kalimantan selatan. Pengukuran sosio-kultural berkaitan dengan kesejahteraan manusia di lahan basah. Kriteria dalam kajian sosio-kultural meliputi  nilai terapeutik, nilai kemudahan, nilai warisan, nilai spiritual, dan nilai keberadaan. Kelima nilai tersebut telah dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Namun pada nilai kemudahan masih kurang maksimal terutama terkait keberadaan tempat pariwisata di daerah lahan basah tersebut.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the 21st century skills that must be possessed by biology pre-service teachers. Someone with good creative thinking skills can more easily convey ideas, solve problems, and always think differently than usual. The aim of this study is to know how the relationship between creative thinking skills to STEAM rediness. This research is correlational quantitative research. The sampling technique used in this research is the quota sampling technique. The number of students used as a sample is 90 people with each batch consist of 30 samples. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire, both to measure creative thinking skills and STEAM readiness. Data analysis techniques using Spearman rank correlation. The data shows the strong correlation between creative thinking skill and STEAM readiness with correlation coefficient value 0,622. The aspects of creative thinking skill are potential to make pre-service teacher more prepared to STEAM implementation at school. The better the creative thinking skills of biology pre-service teacher, the more prepared they will be in implementing STEAM later.

Abstract

The dynamics of education and current tasks carried out by teachers seem increasingly difficult if faced individually without involving collaboration, especially in working through scientific writing. Pramsari in the pulpit of the school journal volume 3 of 2016 said that teachers are the spearhead in the world of education, as functional staff should have high integrity to develop and improve the quality of human resources as a whole, both being able to participate in the KKG and experience making scientific papers when taking undergraduate studies . but it is not enough to stop there, but there are some perceptions that teachers are reluctant to be involved in publishing scientific papers due to very large costs, unsupportive school culture, only aimed at increasing credit numbers and limited practical support in preparing PTK reports and scientific articles . This paradigm is absolute that it is necessary to have reinforcement and habituation to educate teachers in the ability to write down problems in the teaching and learning process in schools. This perception made the research team move to create a special agenda for workshops on the identification of scientific writing and writing of paraphratic articles for teachers in SD Utama 2, Tarakan City.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Komik Digital berbasis Platform (Instagram) pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia untuk siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan yang berkualitas dan untuk mengetahui respon siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan terhadap Komik Digital berbasis Platform (Instagram) pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Reseach and Develoment) dengan menggunakan  model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan yang berjumlah 23 Siswa. Keseluruhan data diperoleh berdasarkan skor dari angket penilaian ahli media, ahli materi, praktisi dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas komik digital berbasis platform (instagram) pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia berdasarkan penilaian ahli media memperoleh hasil rata-rata skor (X) sebesar 3,6 (kategori sangat baik), penilaian ahli materi memperoleh hasil rata-rata skor (X) sebesar 3,4 (kategori sangat baik), penilaian praktisi memperoleh hasil rata-rata skor (X) sebesar 3,5 (kategori sangat baik) dan respon siswa berdasarkan hasil uji coba menunjukkan rata-rata skor (X) sebesar 3,6 (kategori sangat baik) pada uji coba kelompok kecil maupun uji coba kelompok besar. Kata Kunci: Komik Digital, Platform (Instagram), Sistem Ekskresi Manusia. AbstractThis research aimed to produce the quality Instagram-based Digital Comics related to human excretory system materials for Grade VIII male students of SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan and figure out the responses of Grade VIII male students of SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan to the Instagram-based Digital Comics related to human excretory system. The study was classified into R D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The tested subjects in this research were 23 male students of Grade VIII SMP IT Ibnu Abbas Tarakan. All collected data were based on scores from the questionnaires assessed by media experts, material experts, practitioners, and those from the students’ responses. The results show that the quality Instagram-based digital comics related to the human excretory system materials respectively assessed by the media expert had an average score (X) of 3,6 (very good category), by the material expert had an average score (X) of 3,4 (very good category), by practitioner had an average score (X) of 3,5 (very good category), and based on students’ responses had an average score (X) of 3,6 (very good category) in both small and large group trials.Keywords: Digital Comics, Instagram, Human Excretory System

Abstract

The implementation of the Environmental Science learning process so far has shown a lack of encouragement to improve students' 4C skills. The EMKONTAN learning model is one of the models that is believed to improve students' creativity, collaboration skills, and environmental literacy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the EMKONTAN learning model in improving critical thinking and collaborative skills for prospective biology teacher students. EMKONTAN is a student-centered learning model (students’ active learning), oriented to creative learning, problem-based learning, collaborative learning, and provides opportunities for students to improve environmental learning. This research was conducted in the event semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang and FTTE Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang-Indonesia, involving 150 second-semester students through total sampling. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaires, and tests. The research used a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Data collection in this study was carried out using Google Forms, Google Classroom, Google Meet, and WhatsApp. Data analysis using statistical product and service solutions (SPSS) version 23 software. The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) analysis results showed that EMKONTAN, PBL affected students' creativity and collaboration skills in biology teacher candidate students with a value of p<0.005. The least significant difference (LSD) result was significantly different in improving students' creativities thinking, and collaboration skills. The EMKONTAN class gained the highest post-test score. Therefore, EMKONTAN could be applicable to improve students' creative thinking and collaborative skills outcomes in environmental learning.

Abstract

Changes in the learning paradigm that prioritizes the optimization of creative thinking skills require a lot of consistent innovation and development. This study aims to develop students' worksheets based on STEM on viruses. This development research uses a 4D model by Thiagarajan. The instruments used in this study included interview sheets, validation sheets for content experts and media experts, questionnaires for biology teacher responses, and questionnaires for student responses, as well as tests. Product effectiveness on students' creative thinking skills was carried out using a pretest-posttest design and analyzed using the N-gain calculation. The results showed that the STEM-based students' worksheets on the Virus material that was developed received an assessment of 98% from content experts and 87% from media experts with very valid criteria. The responses of teachers and students were 93.3% and 90% respectively with very practical criteria. The developed STEM-based students' worksheets are also effective in increasing students' creative thinking skills by 0.75 with moderate criteria. These results indicate that STEM-based students' worksheets are appropriate for use in learning to improve students' creative thinking abilities.
