Abstract

Pertanian organik bertujuan mengurangi ketergantungan pada pupuk kimia dengan menggunakan alternatif yang lebih ramah lingkungan, seperti pupuk organik cair (POC). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan POC sebagai solusi efektif dalam mengelola pertanian organik di lembang Marante. POC dibuat melalui fermentasi bahan-bahan organik seperti batang pisang yang dikombinasikan dengan beberapa bahan lainnya yaitu gula, dan bioaktivator EM4 kemudian diaplikasikan pada tanaman. Metode yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi dan demonstrasi langsung di lapangan bersama masyarakat tentang bagaimana cara pembuatan dan pemanfaatan POC untuk pertanian organik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat lembang Marante mampu memahami pentingnya penggunaan pupuk organic (POC) yang lebih aman dan ramah lingkungan, POC tidak hanya meningkatkan kesuburan tanah tetapi juga mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Program optimalisasi Air Terjun Sarambu sebagai destinasi edukatif dan ekowisata telah berhasil mengintegrasikan aspek ekologis, rekreasi, dan kearifan lokal. Program ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan ekowisata berbasis kearifan lokal, penguatan identitas budaya masyarakat lokal, pelestarian lingkungan, dan peningkatan pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat lokal. Sinergi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan akademisi sangat dibutuhkan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan ekosistem dan mempromosikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal sebagai bagian integral dari daya tarik wisata.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model with animated video media to improve learning outcomes in Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) among elementary school students. The approach addresses low engagement and underachievement in IPAS learning under the Merdeka Curriculum. A two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted with 13 fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 4 Makale Selatan. Instruments included observation sheets, interviews, and a validated IPAS achievement test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-sample t-tests, Cohen’s d, and normalized gain (N-Gain). Student performance improved significantly from Cycle I (mean = 66.92; mastery = 46.15%) to Cycle II (mean = 80.76; mastery = 92.30%). Statistical analysis showed a significant effect (t(12) = 6.24, p .001) with a large effect size (d = 1.73) and moderate-to-high learning gain (N-Gain = 0.62). Improvements were also observed in students’ engagement, reasoning, and collaborative skills. The results demonstrate that combining Snowball Throwing and animated videos creates a student-centered, interactive learning environment. Animated media served as cognitive scaffolds, while the cooperative model fostered active inquiry and peer interaction. This integration aligns with social constructivist principles and supports 21st-century competencies, particularly critical thinking and collaboration.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve street cleanliness and encourage the use of home gardens to support a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The main problems faced by the community include low awareness of environmental cleanliness, the persistence of trash along the roads, and underutilized yards. The activity implemented a qualitative approach through field observations, community interviews, outreach, and direct mentoring. The community service activities included the Clean Friday program, the construction of neighborhood gates, the creation of flower pots from recycled materials, and the use of home gardens for vegetable cultivation. The results of the activities showed a significant improvement in street cleanliness, increased use of home gardens as productive spaces, and growing awareness and active participation of the community, particularly the younger generation, in environmental protection. Furthermore, this activity also strengthened the values of mutual cooperation and local wisdom, which align with the Tana Toraja Masero concept of clean, healthy, independent, and sustainable development. Thus, this community service activity contributes positively to creating a sustainable environment and improving the community's quality of life in a sustainable manner

Abstract

The development of digital technology provides significant opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to increase their marketing reach through social media. However, most MSMEs in the Kuburan Batu Lemo tourist area have not yet optimally utilized social media as a means of business promotion. This community service activity aims to improve MSMEs' understanding and skills in utilizing social media-based digital marketing. The methods used included outreach, training, mentoring, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The results of the activity indicate an increase in participants' understanding and skills in using social media as a marketing tool. MSMEs have been able to create business social media accounts, upload promotional content, and reach a wider consumer base. Furthermore, MSMEs have responded positively to the use of social media due to its ease of use and effectiveness in enhancing business promotion. Thus, the use of social media has been proven to enhance MSMEs' digital marketing capacity and has the potential to increase business revenue sustainably.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) merupakan bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi secara langsung di lingkungan masyarakat. Program KKN ini dilaksanakan di TK Lembang Sapan Kua-Kua, Kecamatan Buntao, Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Permasalahan yang ditemukan meliputi keterbatasan media pembelajaran kreatif dan minimnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran berbasis digital dalam proses belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa KKN Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja melaksanakan program pemanfaatan media pembelajaran berbasis flipbook sebagai inovasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan flipbook memperoleh skor 92,8% dengan kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi media flipbook dalam program pengabdian masyarakat tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran anak usia dini, tetapi juga menjadi strategi inovatif yang dapat diterapkan secara berkelanjutan pada Taman Kanak-Kanak dengan keterbatasan media pembelajaran digital.

Abstract

Potensi budidaya jamur tiram yang dilaksanakan Kelompok PKK Lembang Sa'dan Ulusalu, Kecamatan Sa' dan, Kabupaten Toraja Utara, Sulawesi Selatan menjadi salah satu faktor pendorong pelaksanaan hilirisasi produk jamur tiram. Karena mengingat besarnya panen, maka untuk menghindari busuknya jamur yang dipanen maka perlu pengolahan produk jamur. Keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam kegiatan hilirisasi produk jamur dan teknik pemasarannya karena lokasi mitra cukup jauh dari kota. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan hilirisasi produk jamur tiram dalam bentuk keripik jamur tiram dan pelatihan dan pendampingan pemanfaatan teknologi media sosial untuk kegiatan promosi dan pemasaran. Metode yang akan dilakukan adalah sosialisasi dan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan, monitoring serta evaluasi kegiatan.

Abstract

The use of reading corners in primary schools is generally limited to providing reading facilities and has not been optimally integrated into the learning process. This condition was also identified at UPT SDN 6 Mengkendek, Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This community service program aimed to optimize the use of reading corners as a strategy to strengthen literacy culture while supporting the implementation of deep learning. The program was carried out over three months using a participatory approach involving the principal, teachers, and students. The activities included needs assessment, program planning, reading corner optimization, implementation assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. Program evaluation was conducted through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicated that optimizing the reading corners increased students' engagement in literacy and learning activities. A total of 63% of students consistently and 22% frequently used the reading corners for reading, seeking additional information, participating in discussions, using books as learning resources, and engaging in independent learning. Teachers also reported improvements in students' literacy culture, critical thinking skills, and learning independence. In addition to supporting classroom instruction, the reading corners became a literacy space where students read and discussed books during break times. Overall, the program demonstrates that optimizing reading corners can strengthen literacy culture while fostering a more active, independent, and meaningful learning environment through their integration as learning resources in deep learning.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental skill that enables elementary school students to understand information presented in written texts and supports their success in various subjects. However, some fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Sanggalangi’ still struggle with reading comprehension, which impacts their overall academic performance. This study aims to analyze the factors causing low reading ability and to identify the predominant reading comprehension difficulties experienced by three fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Sanggalangi’. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of three fourth-grade students as the main participants, while the classroom teacher and the students’ parents served as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that low reading ability is influenced by internal factors, including low intellectual ability, low interest in reading, and low motivation to learn, as well as external factors, namely learning facilities and infrastructure, the family and school environments, and teachers’ instructional competencies. Students also experienced major difficulties in distinguishing similar letters, reading long syllables and words, reading sentences fluently, identifying main ideas, answering questions based on the text, and retelling the content of the reading passage. This study concludes that improving students’ reading comprehension requires ongoing collaboration between teachers, parents, schools, and students through regular reading practice, literacy activities, and appropriate teaching strategies.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 10 Makale through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model assisted by Quizizz. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR), consisting of two cycles, with each cycle including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 21 fourth-grade students, comprising 15 boys and 6 girls. Data were collected through interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Qualitative data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while quantitative data were analyzed using mean scores and classical learning mastery percentages. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' reading comprehension skills after implementing the STAD model assisted by Quizizz. In the first cycle, the average score was 65.71, with a classical learning mastery of 23.8%. After improvements were made in the second cycle, the average score increased to 77.86, and classical learning mastery reached 90.5%, exceeding the predetermined success criterion of 80%. Observation and interview results also indicated increased student participation, motivation, collaboration, and confidence during the learning process. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the STAD learning model assisted by Quizizz effectively improves students' reading comprehension skills.
