Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to measure the effectiveness of STEM-based worksheets to improve scientific literacy skills based on differences in students' cognitive levels in science learning at MTs.The subjects in this study consisted of 44 grade 7 students at MTs Fatihul Ulum Al Mahfudz, Tanggul, Jember, East Java. The research design used was carried out descriptively using the ADDIE development model on Environmental Pollution material. Then the data on scientific literacy results were analyzed using effect size calculations with the Cohen's d formula. The results of the analysis of scientific literacy abilities and learning outcomes based on differences in students' cognitive levels showed a significance value of 0.006 (< 0.05) and 0.001 (< 0.05). Then the results of the effect size assessment of scientific literacy skills and learning outcomes based on differences in students' cognitive levels show values of 0.96 and 1.82. The conclusion of the research results shows that the level of effectiveness of STEM-based LKPD implementation on scientific literacy abilities and learning skills based on differences in students' cognitive levels is in the high effectiveness category and there is a significant difference between high students' cognitive and low students' cognitive in its application.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur keefektifan LKPD berbasis STEM untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains berdasarkan perbedaan level kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran IPA di MTs. Subjek pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 44 orang siswa kelas 7 di MTs Fatihul Ulum Al Mahfudz, Tanggul, Jember, Jawa Timur. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dilakukan secara diskriptif menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Data hasil literasi sains siswa dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan effect size dengan rumus Cohen’s d. Hasil analisis kemampuan literasi sains dan hasil belajar berdasarkan perbedaan level kognitif siswa menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,006 (< 0,05) dan 0,001 (< 0,05). Kemudian hasil penilaian effect size analisis kemampuan literasi sains dan hasil belajar berdasarkan perbedaan level kognitif siswa menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,96 dan 1,82. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keefektifan implementasi LKPD berbasis STEM terhadap kemampuan literasi sains dan ahsil belajar berdasarkan perbedaan level kognitif siswa berada pada kategori keefektifan besar dan terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan antara kognitif siswa tinggi dengan kognitif siswa rendah dalam penerapannya.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menginisiasi bioentrepreneurship baru kerajinan kokon dan benang sutera Eri di SDN 4 antirogo Jember. Permasalahan yang dihadapi SDN Antirogo 4 berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru dan Kepala Sekolah adalah rendahnya minat belajar siswa dikelas serta kondisi ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat yang tergolong rendah. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah rendahnya minat belajar dan kemampuan ekonomi siswa adalah dengan mengadakan pelatihan tentang bioentrepreneurship pembuatan cocoon finger puppet (boneka jari), pembuatan handy craft (cindera mata), dan lukisan diri dari bahan cocoon sheet dan benang sutera Eri. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dengan pelatihan, demonstrasi, pendampingan, dan penerapan inisiasi bioentrepreneurship baru kerajinan kokon dan benang sutera sebagai aplikasi praktis dari aktivitas STEM education. Secara umum, kegiatan inisiasi bioentrepreneurship baru kerajinan kokon dan benang sutera Eri di SDN 4 antirogo Jember berjalan lancar dan terukur sesesui dengan metode dan perencanaan awal. Masalah yang dihadapi sekolah dapat diatasi dengan program pengabdian yang merupakan wujud hilirisasi hasil-hasil penelitian kepada masyarakat. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapatkan respon positif dan memberikan dampak yang sangat baik bagi semua peserta. Target akhir kegiatan ini yaitu sebagai pelayanan sosial dasar dan pengembangan ekonomi lokal juga telah berhasil diwujudkan secara terukur yang terlihat dari respon peserta.

Abstract

This study delves into the pressing requirement for employing Nearpod-supported daily digital assessments to boost students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod in improving junior high school biology science students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. This is a quasi-experimental research. The research participants consisted of two classes of science students at junior high school who were chosen randomly. The experimental class consisted of 27 students, while the control group consisted of 24 students. Data collection tools include validated tests of creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques using the ANCOVA test. The research results show that using the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod significantly improves students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills compared to conventional learning methods. Students demonstrate an increased capacity to generate new ideas, make connections between subtopics, and solve problems creatively. This research proves that the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod effectively improves students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills.Abstrak Studi ini menggali kebutuhan mendesak untuk menerapkan penilaian digital harian yang didukung Nearpod untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa sains biologi Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas siswa sains di SMP yang dipilih secara acak. Kelas eksperimen terdiri dari 27 siswa, sementara kelompok kontrol terdiri dari 24 siswa. Alat pengumpulan data meliputi tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif yang telah divalidasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan menggunakan uji ancova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa dibandingkan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kapasitas mereka untuk menghasilkan ide-ide baru, menjalin hubungan antar subtopik, dan memecahkan masalah secara kreatif. Penelitian ini membuktikan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod efektif mening-katkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the characteristics of STEM-related visual content in Indonesian Vocational High School biology textbooks. Biology textbooks have been adapted to the latest scientific and technological advances and curriculum demands and declared feasible. However, some distributed biology textbooks in Indonesia may need to be improved and have various areas for improvement and problems. This study used NVivo to perform a descriptive statistic comprising 197 visual samples from the two biology textbooks. The results have shown that the type of "sketch comics" is the most common at 30.5%. In addition, the type of "representation" is the most visual function found in this study, with 44.7%. The study has seen all of the STEM domains appearing in biology textbooks. Most of the STEM domain with visual content relates to scientific content. Other components discussed in detail and essential to the development of the student learning unit are schematic views displaying biological processes and representation functions. Therefore, the authors of biology textbooks need to consider the types and functions of visual content holistically, particularly regarding the context of the topics that can represent effective visual content and develop student understanding

Abstract

One of the skills that must be mastered by students for 21st century education is the ability to think creatively. Good creative thinking skills will improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. One way to improve this ability is by applying the PjBL’s learning model. The PjBL model’s is a learning model that involves students in carrying out a project that is useful for solving problems. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of the PjBL based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning model on Students' Thinking Ability and Learning Outcomes. Creative thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students will be analyzed using the t-test. From the research results it is known that the average result of the ability to think creatively in the experimental class is 80.04, while the ability to think creatively in the control class is 70.95. Based on these data seen significance level of students' creative thinking abilities is 0.000 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an influence between the STEM approach to students creative thinking abilities. Based on the research results, the average difference in cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class was 31.89, while the average difference in learning outcomes in the control class was 20.17. Based on these data it is known that the results of the Anakova test analysis show a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is an influence of the STEM and learning model based on PjBL’s on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The 21st century learning demanded students to master the 4C competencies: critical thinking and problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity and innovation, with problem-solving skills significantly influencing students' cognitive learning outcomes. This study utilized the Flipped Classroom instructional model, assisted by the Khan Academy application, as a key factor in educational change. This research aimed to determine the effects related to the implementation of the Flipped Classroom instructional model with the assistance of the Khan Academy application on students' problem-solving abilities and cognitive learning outcomes. The research design employed was quasi-experimental with data collection through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results obtained through Independent Sample t-Test in measuring problem-solving abilities indicated that the Sig. value (2-tailed) was 0.028 for the first indicator (understanding the problem); 0.028 for the second indicator (planning the solution); 0.000 for the third indicator (implementing the solution plan); and 0.001 for the last indicator (checking back). This meant that the results were < 0.05 for each indicator. Another result, namely the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) for cognitive learning outcomes was 0.000. This result showed that the Sig. value was < 0.05. Both results indicated that there was an influence of implementing the Flipped Classroom instructional model with the assistance of the Khan Academy application on student’s problem-solving abilities and cognitive learning outcomes of class X students at SMAN 1 Kutorejo regarding the topic of viruses and their roles.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects on human digestive organs by using the picture and picture learning model. This research is classroom action research with the research subjects being class V students of MI Tarbiyah Athfal II Kepundungan Banyuwangi consisting of 16 students. Classroom action research in this study consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collection techniques used are observation and learning outcomes tests. Completeness criteria are achieved if classically   obtain a minimum score of 70. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The research results showed that in cycle I there was an increase in 9 students with a percentage of 56.25%, while in cycle II there was an increase in 13 students with a percentage of 81.25%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that applying the picture and picture learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science subjects on human digestive organs.

Abstract

Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar yaitu melalui penggunaan buku ajar digital. Buku ajar digital yang terdiri dari story picture dan flash card menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Brain-Based Learning (BBL) untuk merangsang keterampilan berpikir. Penelitian ini menerapkan jenis penelitian pengembangan (Research Development). Desain pengembangan buku ajar digital mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE untuk menghasilkan buku ajar digital berbasis BBL pada materi sistem pencernaan yang meliputi validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas buku ajar digital untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh rerata validasi buku sebesar 81,15 yang tergolong valid. Nilai kepraktisan dengan skor 86,33 yang termasuk sangat praktis. Keefektifan buku ajar digital yang diukur melalui rerata hasil kemampuan dapt berpikir kritis yaitu sebesar 86,02 dan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,37.

Abstract

The development of teaching materials into important media to support success in the learning process, one of the interesting and interactive teaching materials to be developed is biomagazine. This research is research and development (Research and Development) which aims to produce valid, practical, and effective biomagazine teaching materials to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. The research model used is the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the development are in the form of biomagazine teaching materials on the respiratory system material presented based on Brain-Based Learning (BBL) accompanied by videos and crossword puzzles. Validity is obtained through the average validation value of material experts, media experts, and development experts as well as user experts of 86.89 with a very valid category. Practicality was obtained through the average observed practicality score of 88.24 in the very practical category, the legibility test was 97.22 in the very easy category, and the practicality of student responses was 88.45 in the very practical category. Effectiveness is obtained based on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes for three consecutive meetings using the N-gain test of 0.70; 0.70; and 0.71 in the high category and the value of increasing students' ARCS learning motivation of 92.01 on the attention indicator, 92.43 on the relevance indicator, 92.22 on the confidence indicator, and 91.94 on the indicator of satisfaction (satisfaction) with a very good category. The developed biomagazine teaching materials can be used as alternative teaching materials for teachers and students improve motivation and student learning outcomes in Indonesia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think, Talk, Write (TTW). Model Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think, Talk, Write (TTW) terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu Think (Berpikir), Talk (berbicara), Write (menulis) yang diterapkan pada siswa kelas VIII-D SMPN 1 Mangaran Situbondo. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus yaitu siklus I dan siklus II. Data penelitian yang didapatkan berasal dari observasi, wawancara dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif dari pra siklus ke siklus I mengalami peningkatan sebesar 7,8 dan dari siklus I ke siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 6. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think, Talk, Write (TTW) dapat digunakan guru untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
