Abstract

Sidenreng Rappang Regency is one of the duck production centers in South Sulawesi Province. However, most duck eggs are still marketed in fresh form with limited innovation in processing and packaging. The traditional management of existing processed products generally results in low competitiveness. This condition highlights the importance of innovation in processing and packaging to optimize local potential and contribute to improving community welfare. The purpose of this program was to empower PKK women’s groups in Manisa Village by enhancing their skills in producing oven-salted eggs and product packaging. The activities were carried out using a participatory approach through three stages: socialization, technical training on salted egg processing with an oven, and packaging training. The implementation showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge across all aspects. Pre-test and post-test results indicated that basic knowledge of salted egg production increased from 37% to 76%, production using the wet method from 38% to 77%, and the use of ovens and packaging rose from 25–30% to 79%. This twofold increase reflects the effectiveness of practice-based training, where participants not only understood the concepts but were also able to apply the skills independently. Participants were also able to practice using vacuum plastic and attaching labels. The participants' response was very positive, as seen from their enthusiasm in the discussion and hands-on practice

Abstract

Jaundice in newborns is a common condition, but it is important to distinguish between physiological and pathological forms. One of the main causes of pathological jaundice is cholestasis, with biliary atresia being the most frequent etiology. Biliary atresia is progressive and potentially fatal if treatment is delayed. Early detection is a key to successful therapy; however, limited knowledge among healthcare workers and inadequate screening tools contribute to delayed referrals. This study aimed to improve healthcare workers’ understanding of early detection of biliary atresia through education and introduction of stool color cards at RSUD dr. Sayidiman, Magetan. This study employed a quasi-experimental pre-test–post-test design involving 83 healthcare workers. Educational sessions were delivered by a pediatric gastrohepatology specialist, and participants completed questionnaires before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to assess the improvement in knowledge scores, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. A total of 83 participants took part, predominantly female (94%) with the largest age group being 30–39 years (43.4%). Most participants had more than 5 years of work experience (79.5%) and held a bachelor’s degree (55.4%). The mean knowledge score increased significantly from 90 in the pre-test to 95.3 in the post-test (p < 0.001). Socialization and introduction of stool color cards effectively improve healthcare workers’ knowledge regarding early detection of biliary atresia.

Abstract

Lake Maninjau is a freshwater fisheries center with significant production potential. However, the Agam Tilapia Pelangi Group (Poklahsar Tilapia Pelangi) as one of its drivers still faces limited production equipment, low hygienic practices, unattractive packaging, and suboptimal digital media utilization, resulting in suboptimal product value and market expansion. This community service program aims to increase the added value of fishery products through production optimization and strengthening group branding. The program was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through problem identification, outreach, hygienic production training, modern equipment procurement, packaging design training, product photography, and digital marketing assistance, which were evaluated through observation and active participation of partners. This program increased production capacity by 30% in six months, extended product shelf life through s packaging, and improved quality standards through the use of modern equipment. In terms of marketing, packaging design and digital marketing training strengthened the product's visual identity, including the use of paper bags with the group's logo as a collective identity, and activated promotions through Instagram and WhatsApp Business, which are projected to increase online sales by 10%. These results indicate that the integration of production optimization, packaging innovation, and digital marketing effectively increases the competitiveness of the Tilapia Pelangi Group. Sustainability is directed at routine mentoring, halal certification and distribution permits, product diversification, and integration of a digital village roadmap to strengthen business independence.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has driven transformation in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, including the Sedulur Jogomukti community in Jogotirto Village, which still faces limitations in marketing, financial management, and cybersecurity awareness. These conditions formed the basis for implementing an assistance program to enhance the capacity and resilience of MSMEs in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the improvement of MSME competencies through a comparison of pre-test and post-test results after the program. The method applied was a participatory case study consisting of four stages: problem analysis, website development, training and mentoring, and evaluation. Data were collected from 40 MSME participants using a Likert scale questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The results indicated a significant increase across all measured aspects, including production management, digital marketing, financial management, as well as cybersecurity and disaster risk mitigation. Digital marketing, financial management, and cybersecurity recorded the most substantial improvements compared to the initial conditions. These findings confirm that a holistic mentoring program through the utilization of websites can strengthen both the competitiveness and resilience of MSMEs in facing digital challenges.

Abstract

The most difficult part of English for students is pronunciation. Pronunciation is considered one of the keys to successful speaking. Because of its importance, students often struggle to master it. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity was to provide an interactive and enjoyable pronunciation learning method using the ELSA Speak application. This community service activity was conducted at the Baitul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Krembung, Sidoarjo. Participants were students and teachers from the same Islamic boarding school. This training activity aimed to improve speaking skills through the use of the application. The authors used pre- and post-tests to assess the effectiveness of the ELSA Speak application. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and interviews to evaluate students' abilities and perceptions. The results showed that the ELSA Speak application was effective in improving pronunciation, as indicated by higher scores on the application assessment after the post-test compared to the pre-test. Furthermore, questionnaire responses strongly indicated that students considered the ELSA Speak application an effective method for learning pronunciation. Abstract

The main objective of this program is to enhance the economic independence and welfare of women in Buata Village through the utilization of existing local potential, particularly in the fields of fisheries and agriculture. The method used involves several aspects observed through field observation, including social, economic, employment, participation, and community empowerment aspects. The outcome of the program includes the development of a processed product Jantung Pisang Sambal Goreng (JAPOSANG) which introduces and strengthens the identity of Buata Village's local products through branding initiatives. This program supports local entrepreneurs, especially housewives, in developing their businesses more professionally. With branding, the product becomes more recognizable, competitive, and has the potential to enter broader markets. Moreover, through branding training and mentoring, the community gains new insights into the importance of modern marketing, packaging techniques, and simple promotional strategies, both directly and through digital media. JAPOSANG is expected to become a signature product of Buata Village, not only known locally but also marketed to wider regions and potentially recognized as a regional specialty souvenir.

Abstract

A Community Service program in the form of business idea creation training was implemented at SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya as an effort to strengthen students' entrepreneurial skills and equip them with practical knowledge for life after graduation. The primary objective of this activity was to enhance students’ understanding of entrepreneurship and to foster the development of applicable business ideas through the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach. The training was conducted using a structured method that included interactive lectures, group discussions. BMC development, and evaluation of comprehension through pre-test and post-test assessments. A total of 210 twelfth-grade students participated in the program and were divided into groups to design business plans based on the BMC framework. The results demonstrated an overall increase in entrepreneurial knowledge, business activities, and understanding of fundamental BMC concepts, with more than 80% of students showing improved post-test scores compared to pre-test results. These findings indicate that the training was effective in enhancing both theoretical knowledge and practical entrepreneurial skills, despite several limitations related to facilities, time management, and the large number of participants. It is therefore recommended that similar activities be continuously implemented with the support of schools and external partners to ensure the sustainability and further development of students' business ideas toward real-world application.

Abstract

The Mina Ayu group in Desa Baru, Tabanan, Bali, has significant potential in agriculture, fisheries, and tourism, particularly tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) aquaculture supported by abundant freshwater resources. Since 2018, the community has developed tilapia hatchery production that reached wider markets; however, management remains suboptimal due to fish disease outbreaks and limited use of natural remedies. Neem (Azadirachta indica) leaves contain bioactive compounds with antibacterial, antioxidant, and immunostimulant properties, making them a promising alternative for sustainable aquaculture disease control. This program aimed to improve tilapia production and quality through neem leaf extract application, strengthen financial management, and enhance the economic independence of the Mina Ayu group. The community engagement program was conducted from August to October 2025 with 12 members of the Mina Ayu group. Methods included interviews, group discussions, lectures, training on neem extract preparation and application, field practice, and mentoring on financial management and marketing strategies. The program resulted in a significant improvement in farmers’ understanding of fish disease control and water quality management. The application of neem leaf extract in tilapia feed increased the survival rate from 60% to 100% and enhanced fish growth performance and resistance. Group members successfully produced both liquid and powdered neem extract and adopted simple financial recording tools such as daily cash books and profit–loss statements. Training also improved financial literacy, social media–based marketing, and overall business efficiency. The utilization of neem leaf extract effectively improved tilapia aquaculture performance while strengthening financial literacy, thereby supporting business sustainability and the community’s economic independence.

Abstract

This dedication aims to analyze the implementation of digital transformation in Nagari Bukit Buai Tapan through the integration of regional profiles, management of organic compost, and the use of family medicinal plants (Toga) as an effort to support sustainable development. The methodology used includes socialization of programs to local stakeholders, training in nagari and community devices in the use of digital information systems, regional mapping with simple software, as well as direct practice of cultivating toga and making household compost. This program is implemented in a participatory manner by involving nagari devices, farmer groups, health cadres, youth, and beneficiary households. The results of this service indicate that the digital information system is successfully operated by the Nagari device to manage population data and local potential. The regional mapping produces administrative maps that are printed and installed in the Nagari office and are available in digital format. More than 20 households planted toga, including ginger, turmeric, and lemongrass, while three units of household composter began to be actively used with kitchen waste and EM4. Analysis shows a significant increase in public knowledge related to herbal -based health and environmentally friendly waste management. The discussion confirms that the integration of digitalization, organic compost, and toga not only strengthens data-based governance, but also encourages food independence, health, and preservation of local wisdom. This finding implies that holistic digital nagari transformation models can be an effective strategy to strengthen governance, improve welfare, and support sustainable development. This research contributes conceptual and practical to the development of local village based on local wisdom that can be replicated in other nagari.

Abstract

Pengudang Village in Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, has a well-preserved and diverse mangrove ecosystem that has strategic potential to be developed as a community-based ecotourism destination. Current management remains limited to recreational aspects, while the educational value and contribution to the local economy have not been fully optimized. This community service program aimed to strengthen the development of mangrove educational tourism by enhancing community capacity, providing educational facilities, and encouraging innovation of products based on coastal resources. The method involved a needs assessment through questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions, which served as the basis for designing a training curriculum. The curriculum consisted of modules on mangrove and seagrass ecology, English for tourism, and seaweed-based product processing, supported by learning media such as field guidebooks, posters, and dialogue materials. The results showed an increase in community knowledge of the ecological functions of mangroves, which were previously perceived only as “coastal trees” but are now understood comprehensively as providing coastal protection, serving as carbon sinks, and offering habitats for aquatic biota. Simulation-based English training improved tourism communication skills, despite some pronunciation difficulties, while the integration of digital technology, including the use of ChatGPT, enhanced the learning process. Seaweed processing training resulted in the development of an innovative seaweed pie, a distinctive culinary product with promising economic potential. High community participation, particularly among young people, became an important social asset for program sustainability. The program demonstrated that integrating ecological, educational, and creative economic aspects could strengthen Pengudang Village as a model for sustainable mangrove-based educational tourism development.
