Abstract

Purpose: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are often chronic diseases, with the incidence rate increasing every year. All elements are involved in the prevention and management of NCDs. Likewise, NCDs posbindu cadres are the spearhead in the community. This community service aims to improve the knowledge and skills of NCDs posbindu cadres in efforts to prevent, early detect, manage and report NCDs. Method: The method used in community service uses a knowledge transfer approach, science and technology diffusion, asset-based community development and participatory action programs. All cadres of NCDs and Puskesmas were involved in this activity. The program implementation procedure is preceded by socialization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Practical Application: The implementation of upskilling and reskilling cadre activities is carried out in 2 stages. There are improving cognitive knowledge with structured education, then the next stage is skill improvement with early detection demonstrations using medical devices. Conclusion: This Upskilling and rekskilling activity for posbindu cadres can improve the knowledge and skills of NCDs posbindu cadres.

Abstract

Purpose: The organization of this community service activity aims to enhance public awareness of Pondok Pesantren DIWA, improve the reputation of Pondok Pesantren DIWA, and attract community interest in enrolling their children to study religious knowledge at Pondok Pesantren DIWA. Method: The methods employed in this community service initiative are implementation-based, involving guidance and the creation of promotional flyers for Pondok Pesantren DIWA, along with the application of these promotions through social media (online) and direct dissemination (offline). Promotional fliers are created using the Canva application. Practical Application: The community service activities are conducted through direct guidance and training in the creation of promotional fliers using the Canva application, which is relatively easy to use for anyone. Comprehensive promotion is essential to achieve the desired objectives effectively, with flyer media serving as one of the methods used by the pesantren to disseminate information about itself to all segments of society. Conclusion: The outcome of this service activity includes the production of promotional fliers, which are disseminated via Instagram and through direct outreach to target markets or community members known as offline promotion.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to explore the implementation and significance of Ashura commemoration in Nangka Bugang Village, highlighting its role in preserving Islamic traditions and fostering social cohesion within the local community. Method: The study utilized participatory observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders to understand the rituals and social values associated with Ashura in this region. Practical Application: The findings emphasize Ashura’s role in strengthening community bonds. This research can inform efforts to preserve cultural traditions and enhance social unity in similar communities. Conclusion: Ashura commemoration in Nangka Bugang Village is both a spiritual and social event, contributing to cultural preservation and community solidarity. The study provides insights into the importance of religious observances in promoting social cohesion.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service aims to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in Pagar Agung Village by addressing low legal awareness through halal certification counseling, NIB registration, and trademark assistance. Method: The program involved MSME identification, counseling, technical assistance, and monitoring to support participants in completing business legality processes. Practical Application: Around 70% of participants began the registration processes, leading to improved consumer trust and market access. The program offers a replicable model for enhancing MSME competitiveness. Conclusion: The initiative increased legal awareness and had a positive impact on MSME growth. Continued support is needed to help all participants complete the legality process and remain competitive.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates how the collage method can foster creativity and environmental awareness among elementary students in Jiput Village by utilizing plastic waste—a persistent environmental issue. Method: Using a qualitative, participatory approach, students engaged in collecting, cleaning, and repurpose plastic waste into collage art. Data was gathered through observation and documentation of student work. Practical Application: The activity reduced plastic waste in schools and enhanced students' creativity, fine motor skills, and environmental consciousness. This method can be applied in other schools as a practical environmental education tool. Conclusion: The collage method effectively promotes creativity and early environmental awareness while offering a sustainable approach to managing plastic waste in educational settings.

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this community service program is to increase entrepreneurship knowledge and skills in making a variety of food products from duck eggs and duck meat from ducks that are no longer productive. Method: The activity method is providing training about entrepreneurship, and demonstrations of processing ducks into various ready-to-eat food products. Participant consisted of 15 duck farmers from Oesapa Kupang city. Practical Application: Processing cull or rejected duck meat provides the right solution for farmers to overcome the problem of handling ducks that are not productive and can also improve family income and increase consumption of animal protein for the community. Conclusion: Small scale duck farmers were able to increase their knowledge about entrepreneurship and improve skills in making a variety of nutritious food made from duck eggs and duck meat.

Abstract

Purpose: This program aimed to address the limited use of artificial intelligence (AI) in physics education among high school teachers in Langsa City by enhancing their skills in developing AI-assisted learning and evaluation tools. Method: Training was conducted through the MGMP Physics community, involving workshops focused on designing and implementing AI-based educational media and assessments. Practical Application: Teachers gained practical skills to integrate AI into their teaching, enabling more effective and personalized learning experiences for students. Conclusion: The training program was successfully implemented, and its objectives were effectively achieved. Physics teachers in Langsa City showed improved competence in understanding and applying AI in education. The outputs include a service result report, improved teacher skills in developing AI-assisted tools, and an article prepared for publication. Overall, the activity contributed significantly to advancing technological literacy and teaching innovation within the local educational sector.

Abstract

Purpose: The main purpose of this service activity is to provide training on the development of business partnership networks that can open up more potential market opportunities, as well as have a positive impact on increasing the income of guava farmers in Sepakung Village. With the formation of a good partnership, it is hoped that a faster and more targeted business scheme can be built and be able to offer more competitive prices in the market. Method: The service methods carried out are: Needs Assessment, Development, Cooperation Exploration, Monitoring, and Evaluation. Practical Application: The results of the community service program show a positive impact on increasing the understanding of guava farmers regarding the development of partnership networks and marketing strategies. This increase in understanding can be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test which showed a significant increase in various indicators. This shows that the training provided has successfully equipped farmers with practical skills that can be directly applied to expand market access, establish wider partnerships, and maximize profits from crops. Conclusion: Based on the results of community service activities in Sepakung Village, Semarang Regency, this program has succeeded in improving the understanding and skills of guava farmers in the development of partnership networks and marketing strategies. Pre-test and post-test data showed a significant increase, especially in the use of social media for promotion. The understanding of marketing strategies and market analysis has also improved.

Abstract

Purpose: This research discusses the processing of skipjack tuna into frozen food in the form of rolls for UKM (Small and Medium Enterprises) groups in the North Leato sub-district, Gorontalo City. The study aims to improve the understanding of UKM groups regarding skipjack tuna processing to enhance the blue economy through technopreneurship soft skills training. Method: The process of making skipjack tuna rolls began with coordination with the UKM group members. This was followed by a socialization session about community empowerment in producing long-lasting fish products. After the socialization, training was conducted on processing skipjack tuna and utilizing fish waste as organic fertilizer. This was done to assess the participants’ understanding of processing skipjack tuna into rolls. A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was then held with the community and the North Leato government to discuss marketing techniques and product processing. Practical Application: The results offer practical benefits for the SME groups in the North Leato sub-district by increasing their understanding of skipjack tuna processing training, which can help improve their income and ensure sustainability in producing skipjack tuna rolls. Conclusion: Empowering the community around Tomini Bay, especially in the North Leato sub-district, is a strategic step in enhancing the blue economy through the development of technopreneurship soft skills. Through training and interpersonal skill development, the community can become better prepared to manage marine resources sustainably and foster creative innovation in technology-based businesses.

Purpose: This activity aims to enhance economic independence in Bicak Village by developing local craft products from regional resources, focusing on products like knitted bags and accessories made from unique natural materials. Method: The program employs a community partnership empowerment approach, including observation, training in production and management, and support in website creation and digital marketing to enhance local skills in production, management, and marketing. Practical Applications: Activities include socialization and training in efficient raw material utilization and creative enhancement, financial management, website development, and digital marketing. These efforts improved production quality dan marketing capabilities, enabling participants to expand their market reach through digital platforms effectively. Conclusion: Bicak Village faces challenges in expanding market reach for local crafts and limited production and material management skills. This community service program provides solutions through training in production, management, and digital marketing via social media.
