Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is significantly transforming various aspects of human life, particularly education, by offering diverse features applicable to the learning process. This research aimed to clarify students' AI utilization in learning, explore its impacts and implications, and assess student perspectives on educator preventative strategies against negative effects. Employing a quantitative survey methodology with a cross-sectional design, the study meticulously examined AI integration among students. Data collection involved a six-month preliminary observational phase and the structured online questionnaire. The number of the respondents are 64 of Visual Communication Design students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, with subsequent data analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The findings indicate that most students have adopted AI in their learning. 54% reported rare use, 40% frequent use, and only 3% never used AI. The study identified several negative impacts; 22% of students noted decreased social interaction, 14% observed increased intellectual laziness and reduced creativity, and 13% cited a heightened risk of plagiarism. Additionally, 8% found AI dependence hindered innovative thinking skills, and 6% reported a decline in analytical and critical problem-solving abilities. It is necessary to adjust educational methodologies and curricula to adapt to the diverse implications of AI within the realm of education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify obstacles in assisting school supervisors in an effort to improve the quality of sustainable services. Using a qualitative approach of a case study, data was obtained from ten school supervisors in two Branch Offices of the Education Office through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The analysis was carried out with the help of Atlas.ti through the stages of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results of the study show that mentoring planning is still dominated by administrative patterns and is not based on data on school needs. Implementation emphasizes document examination rather than reflective dialogue, while monitoring and evaluation are still reporting-oriented. Reflections tend to be sporadic and not well documented. Structural barriers such as uneven superintendent-school ratios, budget constraints, and geographical constraints exacerbate the situation. These findings show a structural-cultural circle that makes mentoring more procedural. The implications of this study confirm the need for data-based mentoring strategies, collective reflection, and strengthening supervisory capacity to get out of administrative traps into transformative roles.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the influence of Christian Religious Education (PAK), counseling, and pastoral ministry on the moral development of youth in the Indonesian Pentecostal Church Sector 7 Jakarta. The moral development of youth is a key aspect in the formation of Christian character and the future desires of the church, which are strongly influenced by structured educational and pastoral interventions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design, where data is collected through a questionnaire that is distributed to a sample of church youth representatives. The results of the study show that PAK, counseling, and pastoral services have a positive and significant influence on the moral development of youth, both individually and simultaneously. The contribution of PAK (X1), pastoral ministry (X2), and pastoral counseling (X3) to moral development (Y) in the Indonesian Pentecostal Church Sector 7 Jakarta is very high, with a determination coefficient value (R²) of 0.969 or 96.9%. This means that this third variable explains 96.9% of the variation in youth moral development, while the rest (3.1%) is influenced by other factors outside the research model. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of churches to continue to strengthen and integrate PAH programs, counseling, and pastoral ministry as the main strategies in fostering youth morality. Recommendations include improving the quality of relevant PAK curriculum, strengthening the capacity of counselors and pastoral pastors, and creating a church environment that supports the moral growth of youth holistically. This research is expected to make a significant contribution to practical theology, Christian education, and youth ministry strategies in the context of Pentecostal churches and other denominations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to memorize the Qur'an of some tahfizh students, even though they have participated in an intensive memorization program. This indicates a gap between the memorization process and achievement, which encourages the need to identify factors that influence memorization ability. This study aims to analyze the influence of memorization intensity and psychological well-being on students' ability to memorize the Qur'an. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The number of respondents is 110 people. The data obtained are analyzed quantitatively using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that (1) memorization intensity has a significant effect on the ability to memorize the Qur'an (p = 0.007; β = 6.5), (2) psychological well-being does not have a significant effect (p = 0.417; β = 00.5), and (3) simultaneously, both variables only explain 7% of the variation in memorization ability, while 93% is influenced by other factors. This study highlights the dominant role of memorization intensity in enhancing Qur'anic memorization and offers new insights into how internal psychological factors interact in the context of higher education tahfizh programs. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated analysis of memorization intensity and psychological well-being in a single model, contributing to a deeper understanding of the psychological factors that influence Qur'anic memorization.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of grit within the context of Islamic teachings, particularly the Qur’an, and examines its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. Grit, defined as perseverance and passion for long-term goals, is essential for overcoming obstacles in both academic and personal life. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Qur’anic principles such as sabr (patience), tawakkul (trust in Allah), istiqamah (steadfastness), and optimism can foster grit in students. Using a library research methodology, the study analyses key Qur’anic verses related to perseverance and connects them with the core elements of grit. The findings reveal that the Qur’an offers significant guidance on cultivating mental resilience, encouraging students to remain steadfast and hopeful in the face of challenges. Furthermore, the study highlights the practical application of these Qur’anic values in educational settings, suggesting that incorporating them into the curriculum can enhance character development and promote a growth mindset among students. In conclusion, this research demonstrates that by integrating the concept of grit from the Qur’an, Islamic education can better equip students to face both academic and life challenges with perseverance and determination, ultimately contributing to their success and well-being.

Abstract

This study  investigates Thoriqot Naqsyabandiyah Jabal Kubis in Batu Bara, Indonesia, and current Islamic education. It addresses the shortcomings of modern education that prioritizes cognitive accomplishment over faith, ethics, and spirituality. The study examines how the thoriqot promotes morality and character development as a non-formal educational institution. In-depth interviews with congregants, firsthand observation of suluk ceremonies, and thoriqot documentation were used to obtain descriptive qualitative data. The findings show three educational dimensions: faith reinforcement through zikir and wirid, worship discipline through communal prayers, sunnah fasting, and suluk training, and moral development through humility, patience, and ukhuwah with mursyid guidance. These findings show that thoriqot institutionalizes spiritual activities as systematic education, transcending its status as a Sufi ritual tradition. Unlike previous studies that focused on Sufism's theology or history, this study emphasizes thoriqot's educational roles as an alternative character education paradigm. The study confirms its significance to national education goals, particularly in developing faith, piety, and noble values and building resilience to modern social issues. Thus, Thoriqot Naqsyabandiyah Jabal Kubis contributes uniquely to Islamic education studies by showing how regional Sufi traditions can be contextualized into a holistic character education model for modern society.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education necessitates a new approach to teaching Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly in the context of SMPIT Fitrah Insani Leles Garut. This study addresses the integration of deep learning (DL) methods into IRE learning planning, a topic that has rarely been researched. Using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The focus was on exploring the integration of the DL curriculum, institutional readiness, teacher preparedness, and the development of a DL-based IRE learning planning model. The findings revealed that the integration of DL into the IRE curriculum is still in its early stages, with limited digital infrastructure and low teacher pedagogical literacy. However, quantitative results indicated a positive trend, with students showing a 30% increase in engagement when using DL-based methods, especially in project-based learning and contextual activities. Despite these early successes, a systematic DL-based IRE learning planning model is necessary for further development, supported by policies, teacher training, and infrastructure improvement. This study contributes to the development of a technology-based Islamic curriculum that is contextual, adaptable to the 21st-century educational landscape, and demonstrates potential for improving IRE learning outcomes.
