Abstract

Simalungun Regency is one of the regencies in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This district is home to the Simalungun Batak people. The Community Service Team (PKM) provides enlightenment to the community and MSME actors in Simalungun Regency in order to increase their income. In general, mothers in the neighborhood live at home and therefore the PKM Team provides a way to increase their income. The aim of PKM is their knowledge and insight in managing a business. Apart from that, this PKM activity is to train the community and MSME players in running their businesses and this activity provides tips and strategies for managing a business, marketing strategies in doing business, preparing simple business bookkeeping, and the role of digital marketing in a business. This activity equips people in entrepreneurship and motivates them to become entrepreneurs. PKM participants are expected to have creative ideas and be able to run their businesses better, in terms of management, marketing and business capacity, which will ultimately increase income.

Abstract

The 2024 Simultaneous General Election will take place on Wednesday, February 14 2024. On the same day, the President and Vice President (Pilpres) elections will be held simultaneously, as well as the Legislative Election (Pileg) to elect members of the DPD RI, DPR RI, members of the Provincial DPRD, and elect Regency/City DPRD members. The implementation of supervision at TPS 85 Binjai Subdistrict, which was carried out directly, was carried out well and smoothly. and is carried out in 5 stages, where stage 1: Monitoring quiet days. stage 2: Supervision of voting preparations, stage 3: Supervision of voting implementation, stage 4: Supervision of counting ballot papers, and stage 5: Supervision of the recording of vote counts, and distribution of ballot boxes from TPS 85 to the Binjai Village Election Committee, Supervision results reporting system which was carried out by the Supervisor of TPS 85 Binjai Village using Google Form and the SIWASLU application version 1.1.0.

Abstract

Current community activities cannot be separated from the use of technology, one of which is in the field of public services at the village level. Various factors that have not been able to involve village communities in the use of digital technology in public services are still difficult to obtain information, lack of literacy, and limitations in understanding digital literacy, especially in rural areas. This community service is carried out to increase digital literacy for the village community, especially about public services. The method of implementing this service uses Participation Action Research (PAR) in the form of socialization and mentoring. Three main conclusions were obtained from this community service activity, namely; First, the Kabuna Village Community, especially the community service target, has experienced an increase in digital literacy skills. This can be seen in the ability to access public services. Second, the people of Kabuna Village gain new knowledge and experience, especially those related to administrative mechanisms. Third, the people of Kabuna Village are able to utilize the village website as one of the media to promote the values of local wisdom that develop in the community.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental element in developing individual potential, especially in the Society 5.0 era, which is characterized by advances in information technology. The learning motivation of students in class VIII C at MTs Negeri Kota Batu tends to be low, which is caused by conventional learning methods that are less varied. The use of monotonous teaching media, such as WordWall, which is used repeatedly, makes students feel bored and less actively involved in the learning process. Therefore, interactive learning media such as QuizWhizzer are proposed as an innovative solution to increase the variety of learning methods and stimulate learners' interest in learning. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of learning assistance through QuizWhizzer teaching media related to learners' responses. The method used in this study is learning assistance, which consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the use of QuizWhizzer in learning assistance succeeded in increasing learners' positive responses by 80%, which reflected increased participation and motivation to learn. Thus, QuizWhizzer is recommended as an effective teaching medium in creating a more engaging and participatory learning environment.

Abstract

One of the important competencies to be mastered by students in the 21st century is entrepreneurial competency. The development of entrepreneurship for students is related to the natural potential in Pasuruan City, namely rambutan skin in training and mentoring. With this training activity, students of SMA Negeri 2 Pasuruan learn about the role of the creative economy industry or entrepreneurship according to potential trends in business development. The implementation method is through socialization and training in making environmentally friendly liquid soap and providing some materials on solutions regarding the use of liquid soap, especially at SMAN 2 Pasuruan to be trained in making liquid soap at SMAN 2 Pasuruan. The delivery of general description material about soap, things to consider in the content of soap ingredients, soap making training, to mentoring and discussions between students and Lecturers/Students. Based on the implementation of community service activities that have been carried out, namely increasing the understanding of students and teachers of SMAN 2 Pasuruan in producing soap that has the potential to help product development ideas and improve the quality of products from rambutan skin by encouraging soap making.

Abstract

Investment education plays a crucial role in equipping young generations like Gen-Z with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions. In the face of increasingly complex economic challenges, a solid understanding of investment can help Gen-Z manage their finances effectively. One innovation in introducing investment in a more engaging way is through educational games like Stocklab, which aims to introduce and enhance Gen-Z's understanding of the fundamental concepts of investment through interactive and enjoyable media for students of SMK N 1 Medan. The results of this community service indicate that the use of Stocklab as a learning tool effectively educates the students of SMK N 1 Medan.

Abstract

Padukuhan Jambu in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, faces two major challenges: high livestock feed costs and inadequate organic waste management. These issues significantly impact the economy of small-scale farmers and the local environment. Maggot cultivation (Black Soldier Fly larvae) was introduced as an integrated solution, offering a highly nutritious alternative livestock feed while providing an effective method for decomposing organic waste. This activity aims to enhance livestock feed security and environmental cleanliness, with expected benefits including reduced feed costs, increased community income, reduction in organic waste volume, and improved awareness of sustainable waste management. The project employed an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, encompassing asset mapping, appreciative inquiry, and capacity building. The implementation of maggot cultivation in Padukuhan Jambu showed positive results, with active participation of about 60 residents in the training program. Economic impacts were evident in the reduction of livestock feed costs and potential new income from maggot sales. Environmentally, there was a decrease in organic waste volume and improved sanitation. Social impacts included enhanced community cohesion and empowerment through the formation of maggot farming groups. This program successfully integrated solutions for livestock feed security and organic waste management while improving community welfare and self-reliance.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to enhance the competence and knowledge of students at SMA Swasta Wiyata Dharma and SMK Negeri 1 Medan. Through this program, it is expected that students’ skills in using accounting software, particularly Accurate version 5, will improve, from inputting financial transactions to generating financial reports. This community service activity is conducted over 3 days: January 24, 2024, April 1, 2024, and April 2, 2024. This activity successfully improved students' knowledge and skills in using Accurate accounting software. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, there was an increase in students’ understanding of Accurate usage at both SMK Negeri 1 Medan and SMA Swasta Wiyata Dharma Medan. The average post-test scores showed a significant increase compared to the pre-test, indicating an improvement in participants' competencies. Additionally, the awarding of prizes to active participants and those who could answer questions in the quiz demonstrated the students’ enthusiasm for participating in this activity

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit, or erythrocyte count falls below normal. Teenage girls are at high risk of developing anemia because they have menstrual periods that cause a loss of a lot of iron in the blood. Other factors that can affect anemia are poor nutritional habits and a lack of physical activity. An attempt to reduce the incidence of anemia is to consume foods rich in iron (greens, fruits, and meats) that can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. This activity was carried out by examining hemoglobin levels in teenage daughters for early detection of anemia and giving an assessment related to anemia. As for the results of the hemoglobin examination in the schoolgirls, of the 35 participants, there were 24 people with a hemoglobin level of <12 g/dL. With knowledge of anemia, a teenage princess is expected to be able to maintain her eating patterns, like choosing foods that are rich in iron.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSDs) is one of the health problems that commonly occurs in factory workers due to repetitive physical activity with heavy loads and unergonomic conditions, with improper manual handling techniques. Manual handling is included in the ergonomics aspect in the context of physical work such as lifting, placing, pushing, and pulling heavy loads. This Community Service aims to provide manual handling education in an effort to prevent MSDs in workers at 101 Losari Paper Factory, Malang, East Java. The method used in this activity is Service Learning (SL) through action research methods in the form of lectures and demonstrations. Evaluation of workers' knowledge level was given a pre-test and a post-test. The increase in knowledge has an average shown from 11.25% to 95%. In addition, participants were able to demonstrate manual handling techniques correctly, which can be seen from the initial achievement of 25% to 83.33%. Thus, the education provided in this activity is able to increase knowledge of the application of manual handling for preventive efforts of MSDs conditions in paper factory workers.
