Abstract

The development of a microteaching learning strategy based on self-directed learning in private Islamic religious universities is motivated by the fact that lecturers teaching microteaching courses still use monotonous and uninnovative teaching methods, and facilities and infrastructure are still limited, which has an impact on the quality of students' understanding of microteaching, resulting in students being less capable of teaching when they enter the field for practical training. This study aims to describe the application of microteaching based on Self-Directed Learning in supporting students' learning independence and enhancing their teaching competencies as prospective teachers. The study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data sources were obtained through in-depth interviews with twelve informants. All data were analyzed thematically using the Miles & Huberman Interactive Analysis Model technique. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of microteaching based on Self-Directed Learning is able to encourage students to learn independently, develop reflective skills, and improve teaching abilities and critical thinking. Students demonstrated active engagement in planning, conducting teaching practices, and self-evaluation through feedback from peers and instructors. The learning modules used were deemed practical, systematic, and capable of facilitating a self-directed and focused learning process.

Abstract

Academic pressure, future uncertainty, and social challenges often trigger prolonged stress among students. This study examines the role of spiritual coping, grounded in Islamic educational values, in managing both academic and personal stress. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected from twelve students selected through purposive sampling. These students were experiencing stress but actively practiced spiritual coping strategies, such as prayer, reflection on Islamic teachings, and participation in religious communities. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that spiritual practices such as the remembrance of God, Quranic recitation, patience, gratitude, and sincerity contribute significantly to emotional stability and stress reduction. These coping mechanisms enhance inner peace and resilience, while involvement in campus religious environments fosters a sense of spiritual and social belonging. The study concludes that spiritual coping in the context of Islamic education is not merely an emotional response but a transformative strategy that reinforces psychological resilience. The findings suggest practical implications for student support services, curriculum development, and the role of educators in nurturing students’ emotional and spiritual well-being.

Abstract

A study of the representation of multicultural educational values in textbooks is important because textbooks are the primary tool in the process of internalizing values in students. In the context of Indonesia's multicultural society, it is important to ensure that textbooks reflect diversity and encourage inclusive attitudes from an early age. This study aims to uncover the representation of multicultural educational values in Islamic Cultural History textbooks for secondary schools in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method with content analysis, and the data sources were taken from fourteen texts in Islamic Cultural History textbooks for Islamic secondary schools written by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. All books were analyzed using three approaches, namely text analysis, discursive practice, and social practice analysis, as established by Norman Fairclough. The analysis identified seven main messages reflecting multicultural values, including religious tolerance, cross-ethnic collaboration, open and inclusive governance practices, and respect for local wisdom, ethics-based leadership, cultural mixing, and a critical stance toward corruption. These findings underscore the important role of Islamic secondary school textbooks in shaping inclusive educational practices, while also highlighting the need for a more critical and contextual approach to history in multicultural societies.

Abstract

Quran teachers play a role in producing a generation of Muslims who are able to read, understand, and memorize the Quran. However, reality shows that there are still many problems faced by Quran teachers in Indonesia. This article aims to identify and analyze the problems faced by Quran teachers in Indonesia. This article uses the Systematic Literature Review method with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach. A search was conducted on 25 relevant articles from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases published between 2019 and 2024. These articles were analyzed to identify the main issues and solutions that can be applied to improve the quality of Quran teachers. The analysis results indicate that Quran teachers face various challenges, including i) lack of competence in tajweed, ii) low capacity in tahfidz, iii) monotonous teaching methods, iv) absence of standardized guidelines or learning modules, v) lack of formal training, and vi) insufficient training. All these analysis results highlight the need for interventions in the form of developing comprehensive training modules for Quran teachers, as well as recommendations for regular training programs and competency certification for Quran teachers that can be implemented by the government to promote the improvement of national Quran education quality. This analysis is expected to serve as a strategic guide for the government and educational institutions. This analysis is expected to serve as a strategic guide for the government and educational institutions.

Abstract

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia is a political da'wah organization that focuses on spreading Islamic ideology through scientific and intellectual approaches. This research aims to analyze the da'wah strategy, political ideas, and reasons for the dissolution of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia in the context of the spread of ideology through intellectual-based channels. Tsaqofah and evaluation of the strategic ideas proposed to realize their ideals. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, which is analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia prefers a da'wah-based path tsaqofah (scientific) as its main basis, which is realized through seminars, discussions, and conferences to spread its ideas. With this approach, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia is known as an intellectual movement that does not involve physical action like other radical organizations. Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia also carries out two phases of organized struggle, namely (i) Tafa'ul ma'al umma, the phase of socializing ideas to the general public, and (ii) Tafa'ul bil aam, the phase of interaction of ideas in public space. Apart from that, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia proposed two strategic ideas to realize its ideals, namely (i) adopting the principle of moderation in Nahdlatul Ulama's preaching which various groups accept, and (ii) taking a step back to move forward by joining a political party as a first step to achieve long-term goals. This research provides insight into the da'wah strategy and dynamics of the Indonesian Hizbut Tahrir political movement, as well as its relevance in Indonesia's social and political context.

Abstract

Education is one of the most basic and obvious needs of a society, which plays a significant role in human progress and development. It empowers people intellectually and spiritually and leads to improvements, innovations and discoveries. In Afghanistan, especially after the formation of the interim government, significant progress has been made in education. However, challenges remain, including the gender gap in education. While measures have been taken, the participation of girls in schools and universities, especially in rural areas, is low due to cultural and traditional restrictions. In the past, the Taliban has caused irreparable damage to the Afghan education system, especially for girls. In both periods of the Taliban, women were deprived of education and work. which had negative consequences for the economic and social status of women. In education, there remain important obstacles, including gender inequalities and the influence of the Taliban regime, to ensure fair access to education and empower Afghan youth. This qualitative research seeks to find an answer to how the Taliban government affects the rights of girls in education, examining their policies and practices, as well as other factors affecting women's lack of access to education in Afghanistan. In addition, effective strategies to solve these challenges will be examined. To support women's education, it is necessary to use multi-faceted approaches with the participation of different stakeholders, to challenge the ideologies of the Taliban, impose restrictions, increase awareness and the importance of women's education in society, and to provide suitable solutions for women's education.

Abstract

This study discusses a project-based learning model in the form of a short film project designed and performed by students themselves. This study aims to analyze the extent to which this short film project is effective and interesting for students in understanding the material on fiqh munakahat. Furthermore, it is interesting to analyze how students are able to build their understanding of the material on talaq ba'in kubra through this short film project. The author uses a multidisciplinary theory, namely the theory of project-based learning in Islamic education and the theory of legal constructivism in analyzing the data. In conducting this research, the author uses a mixed method design approach with a concurrent embedded strategy model. The subjects of this study were eleven students at a boarding school in West Sumatra, Indonesia, who were involved in the short film project. The data analysis technique used by the author was thematic analysis for qualitative data, while the quantitative data analysis technique used a simple statistical test (t-test). The results of this study indicate that the learning model using the short film production project is highly effective in enhancing students' abilities in the following areas: more practical and interactive learning, increased interest and motivation to learn, easier understanding of concepts, and promotion of collaboration and teamwork. Furthermore, from a legal constructivist perspective, it demonstrates that understanding of fiqh munakahat can be developed through real-world experiences in the short film production project itself, rather than solely through lecture-based methods and rote memorization of texts. Thus, short film production is not merely a learning tool but also a constructivist strategy for fostering a deeper and more contextual understanding of Islamic law among students.

Abstract

This study examines the potential of Maqasid al-Shariah as an ethical and educational framework for enhancing the role of faculty members at the University of Zawia in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals. A structured questionnaire was administered to 100 lecturers across various disciplines, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings reveal moderate awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals, strong recognition of the relevance of maqasid, but limited institutional implementation in curriculum, governance, and community outreach. Key challenges include insufficient training for lecturers, weak institutional strategies, and limited administrative support. The study contributes a localized model for integrating Islamic ethical values with global development goals and highlights concrete policy implications for strengthening faculty development, curriculum reform, and institutional planning within the Libyan higher education context.

Abstract

Religious character is an important dimension in basic education that aims to shape students to be faithful, pious, and have noble character in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. This study aims to analyze the role of local wisdom Sumbang Duo Baleh in shaping the religious character of elementary school students. Sumbang Duo Baleh is twelve Minangkabau customary prohibitions rooted in the philosophy of Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah. The study was conducted at elementary school, which integrates local Minangkabau content into the curriculum. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that although there are still obstacles in the form of limited teaching materials and differences in the level of teacher understanding, the implementation of Sumbang Duo Baleh contributes significantly to strengthening students' religious character. The values instilled include behavior that respects others, maintains politeness in dress and speech, and fosters awareness of personal responsibility before Allah SWT. This integration of local wisdom also fosters positive habits in students' daily lives, such as disciplined worship, polite speech, and avoiding reprehensible behavior. These findings confirm that the use of Sumbang Duo Baleh as local content is relevant and effective in supporting the development of students' religious character while simultaneously strengthening Minangkabau cultural identity amidst the currents of modern education.
