Abstract

This paper aims to analyze patterns and causes of epidemics in the novels Metamorphoses, The Good Earth, The Seventh Seal, and Cat’s Cradle. Through the approach of intertextual theory and the hermeneutic method, common patterns are identified, namely family disintegration, unnatural births, and epidemics. The cause of these epidemics is infidelity or deviation within the family, seen as a divine punishment upon humanity. These findings highlight the relationship between literary texts and social phenomena, offering insights into how literary narratives reflect and shape our understanding of epidemics and human behavior. The implications of this analysis can provide a deeper understanding of human complexity and the relevance of literature in illuminating significant aspects of human experience, such as epidemics and morality.

Abstract

Introduction stunting was a failure to achieve optimal growth caused by condition of malnutrition in a long time. Toddlers grow short and low child intelligence levels result in a burden on the dating time. Due to the limited working capacity, reduction of body activity and complication of content in women because it has a small pelvic size and the risk of giving birth to infants with low birth weight. Know effectiveness of education by stunting cadres on the behavior of toddler mothers prevents stunting, and analyzing factors of stunting event in infants under the five years Methods experimental quasi design. Research respondents are toddler mothers with toddlers of 80. bivariate, with different tests (t–test). multivariate, with multiple logistics regression. Result the average difference in the behavior of the toddler mothers before and after education was 0.55. This increase in the average behavior of p≤ 0.001 < α (0.05). The most influential factor in the nutritional status of toddlers (stunting) with the value B = 3.562 and p≤ 0.001. Conclusion Education able to improve behavior mothers toddlers to prevent stunting. Abstract

Personal hygiene yang baik harus mulai diterapkan sejak dini pada anak, karena apabila sejak dini diberikan pengetahuan tentang personal hygiene maka pengetahuan anak akan lebih matang. Berdasarkan survei awal yang dilakukan kepada 10 orang tua balita menunjukkan bahwa 6 balita (60%) memiliki personal hygiene tidak baik sedangkan 4 balita (40%) lainnya memiliki personal hygiene baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor yang memengaruhi peran orang tua terhadap personal hygiene pada balita. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 716 orang dan sampel yang diambil dengan cara stratified sampling yaitu sebanyak 88 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu data primer, data sekunder dan tersier. Analisa data yang digunakan yaitu uji regresi binary logistic. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa religius memiliki nilai sig-p 0,033 < 0,05, pembimbing sig-p 0,008 < 0,05, motivasi sig-p 0,036 < 0,05 dan fasilitator sig-p 0,025 < 0,05, yang artinya memiliki pengaruh terhadap personal hygiene pada balita, sedangkan protektif sig-p 0,697 > 0,05 yang artinya tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap personal hygiene pada balita. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini ada pengaruh religius, pembimbing, motivasi dan fasilitator memiliki pengaruh terhadap personal hygiene pada balita, sedangkan protektif tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap personal hygiene pada balita. Saran bagi tempat penelitian diharapkan sebagai masukan dalam meningkatkan kesehatan balita khususnya untuk memberikan informasi pada orang tua tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan diri (personal hygiene) balita berupa dukungan informasi berupa penyuluhan, sehingga dengan kebersihan diri yang baik maka balita akan terhindar dari berbagai penyakit.Kata Kunci : Peran Orang Tua, Personal Hygiene dan BalitaGood personal hygiene must be applied from an early age in children, because if early knowledge of personal hygiene is given, the child's knowledge will be more mature. Based on a preliminary survey conducted on 10 parents of toddlers, it was shown that 6 toddlers (60%) had poor personal hygiene, while the other 4 toddlers (40%) had good personal hygiene. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the role of parents on personal hygiene in toddlers. The research design used in this study was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study was 716 people and the sample was taken by stratified sampling as many as 88 people. Data collection methods are primary data, secondary data and tertiary data. The data analysis used was the binary logistic regression test. The results showed that religious has a sig-p value of .033 < .05, supervisor sig-p .008 < .05, motivation sig-p .036 < .05 and facilitator sig-p .025 < .05, which means that it has significant influence. on personal hygiene in toddlers, while protective sig-p .697 > .05, which means it has no effect on personal hygiene in toddlers. The conclusion in this study is that religious, mentor, motivation and facilitator have an influence on personal hygiene in toddlers, while protective has no influence on personal hygiene in toddlers. Suggestions for research sites are expected as input in improving the health of toddlers, especially to provide information to parents about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene for toddlers in the form of information support in the form of counseling, so that with good personal hygiene, toddlers will avoid various diseases.Keywords : The Role of Parents, Personal Hygiene and Toddlers

Abstract

ABSTRAKHipertensi didefenisikan sebagai tekanan darah sistolik ≥140 mmHg dan atau tekanan darah diastolik ≥90 mmHg yang terjadi pada seorang klien pada tiga kejadian terpisah. Angka kasus hipertensi di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Pijorkoling Kota Padangsidimpuan pada tahun 2019 berjumlah 134 kasus dengan usia 60-80 tahun. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Kejadian Hipertensi Pada Lansia Di Puskesmas Pijorkoling Kecamatan Padangsidimpuan Tenggara Kota Padangsidimpuan.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed methode dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah lansia yang berumur 60-80 tahun sebanyak 134 orang, dengan rumus Slovin diambil sampel sebanyak 57 orang. Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi Square (bivariat), dan uji binary regression logistic (multivariat). Analisis kualitatif di analisa secara reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara faktor konsumsi makanan asin dengan kejadian hipertensi p=0,001, faktor kebiasaan olahraga  dengan kejadian hipertensi p= 0,031, dan faktor pola tidur dengan kejadian hipertensi p=0,001. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa faktor konsumsi makanan asin ≥ 1kali/hari mempunyai pengaruh yang lebih besar (paling dominan) terhadap kejadian hipertensi p=0,015dengan nilai Exp(B) = 11,204.Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa adanya pengaruh faktor konsumsi makanan asin, kebiasaan olahraga dan pola tidur terhadap kejadian hipertensi. Disarankan kepada UPTD Puskesmas Pijorkoling untuk terus melaksanakan program prolanis, program posbindu, serta terus memberikan promosi kesehatan seperti diit pada penderita hipertensi untuk mencegah dan mengendalikan penyakit hipertensi. Kata Kunci        : Faktor-faktor, Kejadian hipertensi, Lansia

Abstract

Menurut data BPOM tahun 2019 sekitar 40-45% jajanan anak sekolah tidak memenuhi syarat. Hal ini dapat memperburuk status gizi anak yang dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan anak sekolah. Makanan jajanan yang mengandung zat berbahaya dan tercemar oleh mikrooba dapat menimbulkan reaksi akut pada  tubuh, yaitu berupa batuk, diare, alergi, kesulitan buang air besar atau bahkan keracunan. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis perilaku jajan anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060925 Kecamatan Medan Amplas Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah  survei analitik  dengan rancangan cross sectional. Populasi  dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060925 Kecamatan Medan Amplas yaitu berjumlah 102 orang. Tehnik pengambilan sampel  menggunakan purposive sampling. Jumlah  sampel yang akan diteliti adalah  50 orang.  Analisa data dilakukan  dengan analisis univariat, bivariat dengan uji Chi Square dan multivariate. Hasil penelitian  variabel Pengetahuan diperoleh nilai p-value = 0,001, Sikap = 0,002, Tindakan = 0,001 artinya ada pengaruh penyuluhan kesehatan terhadap Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Tindakan pencegahan jajan diluar kantin Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060925 Kecamatan Medan Amplas. Hasil analisis  multivariat didapatkan  variabel yang paling  berpengaruh dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel Pengetahuan dengan nilai Exp (B) 26.000. Ada hubungan penyuluhan kesehatan dengan pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan dengan perilaku pencegahan jajan diluar kantin Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060925 Kecamatan Medan Amplas, dari hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan hasil bahwa faktor penyuluhan kesehatan yang paling dominan adalah variabel pengetahuan. Diharapkan kepada pihak sekolah agar pengetahuan siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060925 Kecamatan Medan Amplas dapat bertambah dan menjadi media diskusi yang dapat menambah daya tarik siswa dalam mempelajari ilmu tentang kesehatan jajanan secara komprehensif.Kata Kunci: Perilaku Pencegahan Jajan Diluar Kantin Sekolah, Pengetahuan, Sikap, TindakanAccording to BPOM data in 2019, around 40-45% of school children's snacks do not meet the requirements. This can worsen the nutritional status of children which can affect the growth of school children. Snack foods that contain harmful substances and are contaminated by microbes can cause acute reactions in the body, namely coughing, diarrhea, allergies, difficulty defecating or even poisoning. The purpose of the study was to analyze the snacking behavior of children at State Elementary School 060925, Medan Amplas District. The research design used was an analytic survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study was the population in this study were students of the State Elementary School 060925 Medan Amplas District, which amounted to 102 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The number of samples to be studied is 50 people. Data analysis was performed with univariate analysis, bivariate with Chi Square and multivariate tests. The results of the study of the Knowledge variable obtained p-value = 0.001, Attitude = 0.002, Action = 0.001 meaning that there was an influence between health education on Knowledge, Attitude and action on preventing snacking behavior outside the school canteen in State Elementary School students 060925 Medan Amplas District. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the most influential variable in this study was the Knowledge variable with an Exp (B) value of 26,000. There is a relationship, health education with knowledge, attitudes and actions towards preventing snacking behavior outside the school canteen for students at State Elementary School 060925 Medan Amplas District, from the results of multivariate analysis, it shows that the most dominant health education factor is the Knowledge variable. It is hoped that the school will increase the knowledge of State Elementary School 060925 Medan Amplas Subdistrict students and become a discussion medium that can increase the attractiveness of students in learning about the health of snacks in a comprehensive manner. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Gizi merupakan salah satu kebutuhan yang harus dipenuhi agar balita dapat tumbuh dan berkembang dengan baik. Gizi kurang adalah gangguan kesehatan akibat kekurangan atau ketidakseimbangan zat gizi yang diperlukan untuk pertumbuhan, aktifitas berpikir dan semua hal yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Jeunieb Kabupaten Bireuen tahun 2019. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional untuk mempelajari faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi kurang balita. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 34 ibu dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data accidental sampling.  Hasil: diketahui bahwa tidak ada hubungan pekerjaan ibu terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan nilai p 1,000 < 0,05. Ada hubungan pendapatan keluarga terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan nilai p 0,002 < 0,05, ada hubungan riwayat penyakit infeksi terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan nilai p 0,001 < 0,05, ada hubungan pola asuh terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan nilai p 0,031 < 0,05. Adapun faktor yang paling berhubungan terhadap kejadian gizi kurang di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Jeunieb Kabupaten Bireuen tahun 2019 adalah faktor riwayat penyakit infeksi dengan nilai p 0,001 < 0,05.. Kesimpulan: Tidak Ada hubungan pekerjaan dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita, dan ada hubungan  dukungan pendapatan keluarga riwayat penyakit infeksi pola asuh. Faktor yang paling berhubungan dalam penelitian ini adalah riwayat penyakit infeksi. Disarankan kepada ibu balita agar lebih memperhatikan pola makan dan asupan konsumsi makanan sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi setiap anak balita, dalam mengonsumsi makanan sehari-hari membiasakan dengan menu seimbang.Kata Kunci:   Balita, Gizi KurangBackground: Nutrition is one of the needs that must be met so that toddlers can grow and develop properly. Malnutrition is a health disorder due to a lack or imbalance of nutrients needed for growth, thinking activities and all things related to life. Objective: This study aims to determine what factors are associated with the incidence of malnutrition in children under five in the work area of the Jeunieb Public Health Center, Bireuen Regency in 2019. Purpose : This study aims to determine what factors are associated with the incidence of malnutrition in children under five in the work area of the Jeunieb Public Health Center, Bireuen Regency in 2019. Method :  This study used an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach to study the factors associated with the incidence of under-five malnutrition. The sample in this study amounted to 34 mothers using accidental sampling data analysis techniques..  Result :  it is known that there is no relationship between mother's work and the incidence of malnutrition with p value 1,000 < 0.05. There is a relationship between family income and the incidence of malnutrition with a p value of 0.002 < 0.05, there is a relationship between a history of infectious disease and the incidence of malnutrition with a p value of 0.001 < 0.05, there is a relationship between parenting patterns and the incidence of malnutrition with a p value of 0.031 < 0, 05. The factors most related to the incidence of malnutrition in the work area of the Jeunieb Public Health Center, Bireuen Regency in 2019 were a history of infectious disease factors with a p value of 0.001 < 0.05. Conclusion: There is no relationship between work and the incidence of malnutrition in children under five, and there is a relationship between family income support, history of infectious diseases, parenting. The most related factor in this study was a history of infectious disease. It is recommended to mothers of toddlers to pay more attention to eating patterns and intake of food consumption in accordance with the nutritional needs of each child under five, in consuming daily food to get used to a balanced menu.Keywords: Toddler, Malnutrition

Abstract

This study was conducted to observe the relationship between consumers’ knowledge on nutrition labels and the purchasing behavior for processed food products among Indonesian consumers. A crosssectional study was conducted in August‒September 2018 in five different cities of three provinces (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi). Data were obtained from 400 adult consumers by self-administered questionnaires. The results showed that almost 70% of consumers in Indonesia check food labels; however, from that number only 37.5% paid attention to the nutrition label of a food product prior to making a purchase decision; this was most probably due to their knowledge on nutrition labels that was still poor, as shown by the mean score of 7.7 out of 14 questions (55%). In terms of food groups, milk and dairy products were deemed important by the consumers and the nutrition labels were often checked. When it comes to making a purchase decision, almost all of the consumers (96.0%) had decided to buy food products with nutrition labels as compared to those without. Furthermore, when compared to similar products also bearing nutrition labels, consumers deemed the claims of low fat (28.7%) and low sugar (22.6%) as a sign that the products are healthier and have a better nutrition profile. Knowledge on nutrition labels (OR=1.139; 95% CI:1.016‒1.276; p=0.025) and purchase decision on products with nutrition labels (OR=3.426; 95% CI:1.220‒9.623; p=0.019) were significantly associated with purchase decision for healthier processed food. This study has shown the importance of increasing consumers’ knowledge on nutrition labels in order to achieve a larger impact on food selection, nutrition, and health.

Abstract

This review assessed the effect of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) on children under five years with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). The reviewed studies were obtained from six databases. Using the search strategy, 3,521 studies were selected. After title and abstract screening, 75 studies were obtained for further full article screening. The inclusion criteria were types of study (RCT, quasi-RCT, or crossover), participants (SAM children aged 6−60 months with no complications), interventions (locally produced RUTF and standard RUTF), and outcome measures (recovery rate, mortality rate, weight gain rate, height gain rate, length of stay, weight-for-age z score, height-for-age z score, weight-for-length z score, anemia status, blood iron status, serum albumin, plasma amino acid level, adverse effects and acceptability of RUTF). A total of 33 studies were included in this review. Nine out of twenty-two studies that used standard RUTF had positive effects on recovery outcomes in children with SAM. The alternative RUTF produced from local protein sources showed slightly lower positive effects on SAM treatment than those of standard RUTF. Since the studies used different methods to assess the outcome, no formula could be selected as the best formula and selection should be made based on individual research objectives. In conclusion, both standard and the alternative locally produced RUTF can be applied for treatment of SAM by considering the local preferences, ingredients availability, production sustainability and product safety.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the potency of purple okra-based products in improving the antioxidant status of healthy adults. Thirty adults with high body fat percentages were allocated into three groups: the first group was treated with 100 g of purple okra pudding/day, the second group was provided with a purple okra extract supplement that contained 3.80 g of extract/day, and the third group was a control group. The intervention was carried out for 28 days. All subjects were exposed to nutrition education, and data on their characteristics, food intake, and physical activity level were collected. The results showed that purple okra pudding and supplement had antioxidant activity of 0.39 and 455.39 mg AEAC/g extract, IC50 of 543.79 and 71.78 ppm, and total phenol of 6.21 and 24.49 mg GAE/g extract, respectively. There were significant differences among subject groups in energy, protein, and fat intake as well as physical activity level. The group treated with purple okra pudding showed a significantly higher ΔSOD after the intervention, most probably due to the role of antioxidants contained in purple okra in upregulating antioxidant defense. In contrary, there was a declining trend of ΔSOD in the group treated with purple okra extract supplement. The different effects observed between the two groups might be due to the different phenol contents between the two intervention products. This study showed that purple okra has the potential as a functional food and health supplement in improving the antioxidant status of healthy adults with high body fat percentages as indicated by a higher change of SOD level (0.08 u/mL) in comparison to the control (-0.07 u/mL).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop chicken nuggets with the addition of chicken liver and analyze their nutritional content. Nugget with 10% chicken substituted with chicken liver was the selected formulation. The nutrient profile of the selected nugget formula was: 56.8 g/100 g moisture, 1.46 g/100 g ash, 14.66 g/100 g protein, 6.5 g/100 g fat, 12.92 g/100 g carbohydrates, 16.39 mg/100 g iron, and 760.16 RE /100 g vitamin A. One serving of the selected nugget formula is equivalent to 100 g (4 pieces) that contribute 168 kcal energy. The selected formulations have met the claims for low fat, high in iron and vitamin A, and source of protein.
