Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of integrating Islamic values into mathematics learning on improving students’ learning motivation at MTs N 1 East Lombok. The background of this research is based on the dichotomy between mathematics as a scientific discipline and religious values, which has contributed to low levels of students’ intrinsic motivation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data triangulation techniques, including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 30 seventh-grade students and a mathematics teacher at MTs N 1 East Lombok. The implemented learning model integrated Islamic values through structured stages, including planning and implementation based on Problem Based Learning. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning motivation. The average intrinsic motivation increased from 2.86 to 4.22 (gain = 1.36), while extrinsic motivation increased from 3.16 to 4.26 (gain = 1.10). The effect size values were categorized as large (d = 1.25 for intrinsic motivation; d = 0.98 for extrinsic motivation), indicating strong practical effectiveness of the intervention. The highest improvement was observed in the indicator of awareness of learning as a form of worship. These findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values is capable of transforming students’ learning orientation from purely cognitive to meaning-oriented learning. The implications of this study highlight that mathematics learning based on the integration of religious values contributes to the development of holistic intelligence, encompassing both intellectual and spiritual dimensions

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the Cerita Kolong Langit Program in improving basic literacy skills to reduce partial illiteracy among participants at Satu Amal Indonesia in Palembang. Using a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental one-group pretest posttest design, the research involved 40 children aged 7 - 12 years at Taman Bacaan Sungai Ijuk. Data were collected through pre-test, post-test, structured observation, and documentation, then analyzed with descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk test, paired sample t-test, and normalized gain. The results show a significant increase in literacy achievement with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The mean score rose from 58.40 to 86.28, while the overall N-gain reached 0.670 in the medium category. The lower class obtained an N-gain of 0.638 and the upper class reached 0.702. Program implementation was supported by a warm learning climate, patient and adaptive tutors, contextual stories, and creative activities. The main constraints were irregular attendance, unequal initial ability, limited instructional time, and uneven literacy practice at home. These findings indicate that the program is effective and feasible to be developed further as a community based basic literacy model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems of songket weaver regeneration in Muara Penimbung Ulu Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Regeneration is important in maintaining the sustainability of weaving skills as part of preserving local culture, but the involvement of the younger generation is still low. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a purposive sampling technique involving 8 informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the regeneration of songket weavers faces social, economic, and policy barriers. Social barriers include low interest from the younger generation and low environmental support. Economic barriers are related to low income and the attractiveness of weaving. Policy barriers are evident in the limitations and suboptimal implementation of programs. Government efforts through training have been carried out, but participation from the younger generation is still limited. The conclusion of this study indicates that the regeneration process of songket weavers has not been running optimally. Synergy is needed between the government, the community, and educational institutions to increase interest from the younger generation and strengthen the sustainability of weaving culture.
