Abstract

The relationship between religion and science has long been an important topic in discussions on the development of modern knowledge. While scientific advancement has significantly contributed to human civilization, it has also raised various ethical and moral concerns. One of the contributing factors is the tendency to separate religious values from scientific activities within the modern scientific tradition. This study aims to examine the philosophical background of the integration of religion and science and its relevance to the development of modern knowledge. The research employs a library research approach by reviewing and analyzing various sources related to philosophy of science, Islamic epistemology, and the concept of religion-science integration. The data were analyzed descriptively and critically to explore the intellectual foundations of the integration paradigm. The findings indicate that the integration of religion and science is rooted in the belief that all truth ultimately comes from the same source, namely God. Therefore, revelation and reason should not be viewed as contradictory, but rather as complementary means of acquiring knowledge. The integration of religion and science also promotes a more comprehensive scientific approach by accommodating empirical, rational, ethical, and spiritual dimensions. Consequently, this integration can serve as an important foundation for developing knowledge that is not only academically advanced but also beneficial to humanity as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of deconstruction developed by Jacques Derrida and its relevance to contemporary hermeneutics. Deconstruction emerges as a critique of Western metaphysics, which traditionally assumes meaning to be stable and final. Through the concept of différance, Derrida argues that meaning is always deferred and constructed through the relational play of linguistic signs. Meanwhile, hermeneutics, as a theory of interpretation, seeks to understand textual meaning through a dialogical engagement between text, author, and reader within specific historical contexts. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods to examine the relationship between deconstruction and hermeneutics. The findings indicate that although deconstruction appears to challenge the foundations of classical hermeneutics, both approaches reject the notion of singular and absolute meaning. Therefore, deconstruction can be seen as a critical enrichment of contemporary hermeneutics, particularly in opening space for interpretative plurality and fostering awareness of the instability of meaning within texts.

Abstract

This study discusses an integrated Islamic approach through normative and historical analysis in the field of Islamic religious education. In the normative aspect, this research refers to principles found in the Quran and Hadith to create comprehensive learning, with the main goal of fostering good morals and critical thinking skills. From a historical perspective, the review covers teaching methods applied by Prophet Muhammad SAW and the contributions of classical scholars such as Al-Ghazali in integrating various fields of knowledge. This integrated analysis explains ways to address current issues in Islamic education, including secular influences and disorganized curricula. By combining normative ideals and historical contexts, educators can design relevant, flexible teaching methods that support tolerance, intellectual depth, and practical application. This research uses a qualitative approach focused on literature analysis, with expected impacts on curriculum reform in madrasas and pesantrens in Indonesia. Ultimately, the integrated Islamic approach strengthens the position of religious education as a medium for creating social harmony and deepening individual piety.

Abstract

Islamic education does not merely emphasize the acquisition of knowledge but also focuses on the development of human values and deep intellectual reflection. The concepts of Hadharat al-Nas, Hadharat al-‘Ilm, and Hadharat al-Falsafah represent three essential elements that can serve as a foundation for the development of a comprehensive Islamic education system. This study aims to analyze the integration of these three concepts in the development of Islamic education. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach by examining relevant academic literature and scholarly sources. The findings indicate that Hadharat al-Nas highlights the humanistic and social dimensions of education, Hadharat al-‘Ilm focuses on the advancement of knowledge and intellectual traditions, while Hadharat al-Falsafah contributes to the formation of critical and reflective thinking. The integration of these three dimensions can create an Islamic educational framework that not only prioritizes knowledge acquisition but also fosters moral character, ethical awareness, and intellectual depth. Therefore, Islamic education is expected to produce individuals who are knowledgeable, morally grounded, and capable of responding wisely to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

Abstrak The dichotomy between religious knowledge and science in the education system often creates divisions in the understanding of knowledge, including in Is-lamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This separation results in limited integra-tion of Islamic values with modern scientific developments. This study aims to ex-amine the concept of integration of religion and science from the perspective of Is-mail Raji Al-Faruqi as a solution to the epistemological dichotomy in PAI learning. This study used a library study method by examining Al-Faruqi's various works and thoughts on the Islamization of knowledge. The results show that Al-Faruqi em-phasized the importance of integrating revelation and reason in the development of knowledge, thus avoiding a division between religious knowledge and general knowledge. This concept asserts that all knowledge essentially originates from God and must be directed toward building a civilization based on the values of monotheism. Thus, the integration of religion and science can be an alternative approach to addressing the epistemological dichotomy and strengthening the qual-ity of PAI learning that is holistic and relevant to current developments.
