Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that will describe about the conceptual ability of cube to solve cube volume’s story matter, conceptual ability of beam to solve  beam volume’s story matter, and procedural abilities to solve  cube and beam volume’s story matter. The existence of this study is itended to be basis in decide a solution to solve the problem of story matter especially in cube and beam volume materials. This research used descriptive method with diagnostic test instrument, interview, and field notes. The result of this study showed that the student’s conceptual abilities of cube were classified as very low, the student’s conceptual abilities of beam were classified as very low, and the student’s procedural abilities were classified as very low too.

Abstract

Siswa menganggap matematika merupakan pelajaran yang sulit. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari hasil belajar matematika pada materi pembagian pecahan menunjukkan hasil yang rendah. Dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan jenis, faktor, dan upaya untuk mengatasi kesulitan belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus sebagai desain penelitiannya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, angket, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami oleh siswa yaitu kesulitan memahami konsep, kesulitan dalam menghitung, dan kesulitan memecahkan masalah. Salah satu faktor internal yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar matematika yaitu minat belajar mateatika masih rendah. Faktor eksternal disebabkan kurangnya perhatian yang diberikan oleh orang tua. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru yaitu menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan orang tua demi meningkatkan kemampuan belajar matematika siswa.Kata kunci : kesulitan belajar, hasil belajar, pembagian pecahan

Abstract

This research is based on the idea of mathematical representation's ability that needed by students to find ways of thinking in their communicating mathematical ideas. The representation's ability can be one of the other supporting competencies. This research used multiple intelligences-based of contextual approaches with highlighted intellegences, that are logical-mathematical and visual-spatial intelligence in the context of cube volume and cuboid volume. The purpose of this reasearch was to find the effect of mathematical representation's ability approached and the relationship between mathematical representation's ability and logical-mathematical and visual-spatial intelligence. The method that used of this research was non equivalent control group design. The sample was the fifth grade students of Citarik Elementary School as the experimental class and Tenjolaya III Elementary School as the control class. The data in this research are quantitative and qualitative data that originating from research instruments. The results of this research on multiple intelligences-based contextual approaches (logical-mathematical and visual-spatial intelligence) have a positive effect on representation ability significantly compared to the control class. This reasearch showed a strong correlation between logical-mathematical and visual-spatial intelligence simultaneously with the ability of mathematical representation. However, if the intelligence is not simultaneous, there is a positive effect between mathematical representation and visual-spatial intelligence.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman matematis siswa di  kelas V, dan penyebab rendahnya pemahaman matematis serta solusi untuk mengatasinya. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dan desainnya yaitu studi kasus. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu kelas V SDN Cikondang II dengan jumlah 22 siswa. Instrumennya yaitu berupa tes diagnostik dan wawancara. Adapun, dari hasil tes diperoleh informasi, bahwa kemampuan pemahamanimatematis siswa kelas V dapat dikategorikan sangat rendah. Hasil wawancara mengenai faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemahaman matematis siswa yaitu: kurangnya minat siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika, daya dukung kurang memadai, lingkungan siswa kurang mendukung, cara belajar siswa yang kurang efektif. Selanjutnya, solusi untuk mengatasinya yaitu: guru harus menggunakan metode, model, starategi, dan media yang bervariatif dan inovatif, pihak sekolah harus memberi fasilitas yang memadai, orangtua harus mendukung pendidikan anak, guru perlu memberikan nasehat dan motivasi kepada siswa.

Abstract

Indirectly, all the human activity are connected with mathematics. For example, if we doing economics activity in the market, we certainly do the counting like sum, diminution, multiplication, or division. Other than that, mathematics could be a facilitator on other various of scientific. Also mathematics could make a sistematic mindset on the brain for carry out their lives. Because of that, all human should be have mathematical connection skills  and also have big motivaion for learning mathematics. Since the old time, mathematics learned on school. The one of innovations of learning mathematic is ethnomatematics based contextual approach. The one of ethnomatematics is Cirebon’s culture result is like “batik motif”, traditional food, and traditional game. This study aims to know the differences in the increase in mathematical connection skills and student motivation on student who learn with ethnomatematical approaches and scientific approach, to know the differences in improving mathematical connection skills and learnig motivation trhrough an ethnomatematic based contextual approach and saintific approach, and to know the correlation between connection mathematics skills and learning motivation.This research used pretest-posttest control group design with samples of grade III SDN Grogol 1 dan SDN Dukuh 1 Cirebon. The results of this study are that there is an increase in N-Gain pretest and posttest scores on mathematical connection skills and learning motivation both of ethnomatematical based contextual approach and scientific approach. Conclusions of this research are: 1) the positive significanly effect of mathematical connection skills and learning motivation from ethnomatematics based contextal approaches, 2) the positive effect but not significantly increasing of mathematical connection skills and leraning motivation with scientific approach, 3) there is correlation between mathematical connection skills with learning motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan awal yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Kemampuan awal merupakan prasyarat awal yang harus dimiliki siswa agar proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan dapat berjalan dengan baik. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa dalam penelitian inidigunakan analisis kemampuan awal pada siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitiannya adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Paniis yang berada di Kecamatan Pasawahan, Kabupaten Kuningan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes kemampuan awal siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan awal menentukan macam-macam bangun datar terdapat pada kategori hampir setengahnya, mengidentifikasi rumus bangun datar terdapat pada kategori hampir setengahnya, menghitung luas bangun datar terdapat pada kategori hampir setengahnya menghitung keliling bangun datar terdsapat pada kategori hampir setengahnya serta memecahkan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari yang berkaitan dengan bangun datar terdapat pada kategori sebagian kecil.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Awal, Siswa, Bangun Datar

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the improvement of students 'mathematical understanding and disposition on the Contextual Approach assisted by Geogebra media and conventional learning models, to find out the differences between the use of the Contextual Approach assisted by Geogebra media and conventional learning model sons tudents' mathematica understanding and disposition ability mathematical understanding and disposition. The research method used is quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The subjects in this study were fourth grade students of SDN Cikawung I (experiment) and SDN Cikawung III (control). The results obtained are: 1) Contextual Approach assisted by Geogebra media and conventional learning models improve the ability of understanding and mathematical disposition significantly, 2) Contextual approach assisted by Geogebra media and conventional learning models can significantly improve mathematical dispositions, 3) to positive relationships between abilities mathematical understanding and disposition, 4) students respond well to learning activities.

Abstract

Understanding ability is a basic ability that students need to have so that they can develop other abilities in learning. Through online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods, the teacher tries to optimize learning by utilizing student learning styles, so that learning can develop students' understanding abilities. The purpose of this research is to find out how the students' understanding ability after learning is given and to know how to implement online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods. Pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest is the research method used in this study. The population in this study were all fourth-grade students of Public Elementary Schools in Sumedang Regency in the 2020/2021 academic year, while the samples were fourth-grade students of SDN Lembursitu and SDN Tenjolaya. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the conclusions obtained are: 1) Students' understanding ability in online learning with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods has increased. 2) The implementation of online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods as a whole went well.

Abstract

This research was conducted on the basis of the importance of students having mathematical understanding at the elementary school level to improve higher mathematical abilities. Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) is one option that can be used to improve students' mathematical understanding in online learning. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest design. The research population is all fifth grade elementary school students in Jatinunggal District, Sumedang Regency. Meanwhile, the research sample is SDN Cisambeng. The instruments used in this research are mathematical understanding test questions, student response questionnaires, teacher and student performance observation sheets and interviews with four samples of parents. Based on the results of learning during three meetings, it shows that: 1) Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) has a significant positive influence on students' mathematical understanding of online learning through whatsapp groups. The magnitude of the change (gain) in the results of the pretest and posttest was 0.49 with a moderate interpretation; 2) The implementation of learning with PMR in online learning is going well even though there are some obstacles faced. The biggest obstacles in learning activities are students who do not master the basic skills of multiplication and division as well as unstable network problems. The lack of independence in student learning causes online learning to still have to be accompanied by parents and be guided directly.

Abstract

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic virus in Indonesia has caused all activities to be carried out from home. In order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government changed the education system to be bold. So that in the world of education all teachers must be able to create learning media that can be operated effectively by students from home. This research was carried out using a qualitative research methodology with a descriptive method, the aim of this research is to find out the benefits of the google classroom application and learning videos as learning media in an effort to increase student learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the results of the study by referring to relevant journals and articles, it was stated that the use of the google classroom application and video learning as a learning medium had a positive effect of 86.30% in increasing students' learning motivation at Tarumajaya 2 Elementary School. So it can be said that the use of google classroom and video learning at Tarumajaya 2 Elementary School is going well.
