Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis affecting approximately 302 million people worldwide. OA is characterized by pathology involving the entire joint including cartilage degradation, bone remodeling, synovial inflammatory osteophyte formation, leading to pain, stiffness, swelling, and loss of normal joint function. The most commonly affected appendicular joints include: knees, hips and hands. Conservative therapy consists of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy given to patients with mild tomoderatekneeOA.Nonpharmacologicaltherapy can be in the form of exercise therapy and physical modalities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a physiotherapy program using Ultrasound, TENS, Quadriceps Setting and Passive Hamstring Exercise.Case Presentation: Patients with the initials Mr. M is 60 years old with the main job as a sand porter. Nine months ago, the patient fell under a sandbag while working and hit his head and back. As a result, the back fractured and had to be operated on. One week after surgery the patient had a urinary tract disorder, so he needed to be operated on again. As a result of the operation the patient was required to use a catheter. The patient began to complain of stiffness due to the use of the catheter and bed rest in the long term (8 months). Management and Outcome: The patient attended therapy three times in two weeks with a physiotherapy programs Ultrasound, TENS, Quadriceps Setting and Passive Hamstring Exercise. Patient were evaluated using Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), Meter line, Goniometer, and Manual Muscle Testing (MMT),Conclusion: Physiotherapy with the intensity of patient visits three times in two weeks with the intervention of Ultrasound, TENS, Quadriceps Setting and Passive Hamstring Exercise can reduce pain, decrease edema, improve leg muscle strength, and increase range of motion of knee joint.

Abstract

Introduction : Down syndrome is a genetic condition or disorder caused by a chromosomal abnormality that occurs threefold in total or part of chromosome 21. Decreased muscle strength and balance are one of the consequences that occur in the condition of down syndrome. In this study the aim was to determine the effect of providing physiotherapy management in cases of Down syndrome. The research method used in this study was a case study involving a 4-year-old girl diagnosed with Down syndrome. Subjects were given physiotherapy interventions for 3 weeks with a frequency of 2 meetings a week. The interventions provided were walking on a textured catwalk, walking on an inclined plane, and jumping on a trampoline based on a stretch-shortening exercise. The examination given for this case is checking muscle strength using the manual muscle testing method and checking balance using the balance beam test. In this study, the results showed that there were changes in the subject's muscle strength and dynamic balance ability.

Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis is a progressive, degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage that protects the ends of the bones begins to break down, accompanied by reactive changes at the joint edges and subchondral bone that cause pain and loss of movement.Based on the results of health research on the basis of Riskesdas in 2013, the prevalence of joint disease based on health diagnoses in Indonesia was 11.9% and 24.7% based on symptoms. The highest prevalence based on diagnosis by health workers was in Bali 19.3% while based on symptoms the highest was in East Nusa Tenggara 33.1%, West Java 32.1%, DKI Jakarta 21.8% when viewed from age characteristics, the highest prevalence was at age ≥ 75 years (54.8%) there were also more female patients (27.5%) compared to men (21.8%). Case Presentation: A 56 year old man came to RSJD Dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta with complaints of pain in the right knee and could not fully bend because he had experienced a fall and slipped on the right knee. He has hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol. On physical examination with vital signs heart rate 99 beats/minute, respiration 20 beats/minute, blood pressure 170/100 mmHg with a height of 155 cm and a weight of 74 kg. From the static inspection examination found edema and dynamic inspection it was seen that he walked slowly and endured a little pain and seemed to be using a tripod. Results : From the examination of pain using a vase on the right knee, the results were: silent pain (2), motion pain (4), tenderness (4). Measuring muscle strength with MMT on the right knee with flexion extension movement obtained 4 results. Anthropometric examination of the odema using the mid line with the results of the right knee (42 cm), left knee (36.5 cm) which means a difference of 5.5 cm. Then a special examination was carried out on OA using the Jette scale and measuring the LGS with a goniometer Conclusion : After using ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hold rilex in the Osteoarthritis Genu Dextra Case with Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation and Exercise at RSJD Dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta isA patient with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis, male, 56 years old, was given physiotherapy treatment for two treatments from June 26 2023 to July 4 2023. The problems with physiotherapy were found to be pain, decreased strength of the right knee muscles, edema on the knee dextra and decreased functional activity. After being treated twice, the results showed that there was no increase in MMT in the knee flexor-extensor muscles, there was no decrease in tenderness, silent pain, and motion pain, but there was a decrease in dextra knee edema, and there was no increase in functional activity.

Abstract

The growth and development of children aged 0-6 months is an important stage to achieve optimal quality of life. Parents have an important role in stimulating child growth and development early on in child growth and development. Problems that occur in children of this age, one of which is gross motor development due to parents' lack of understanding of child development. Education in the form of health literacy discusses growth and development and how to stimulate according to age so that parents can apply what has been taught. The aim is to determine changes in the level of understanding of parents when given growth and development education about gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months. This study used a quantitative research design with a type of quay experimental research, a one- group pre-test-post-test approach. The number of samples was 44 respondents with the purposive sampling method. The variables of this study are independent, namely parents' understanding of child growth and development measured by questionnaires, and dependent variables, namely gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months measured by ASQ (Ages and stages questionnaire). Data analysis techniques used were univariate test, normality test, and effect test. The effect test using Wilcoxon showed the sig result (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, meaning there is a significant effect. It can be concluded that there is an effect of growth and development education on parents' level of understanding about the gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months.

Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) genu merupakan salah satu penyebab utama disabilitas pada populasi lanjut usia. Meskipun gejalanya sering muncul sejak stadium awal, OA grade 1 sering kali tidak ditangani secara aktif, padahal penanganan dini berpotensi mencegah progresi penyakit. Fisioterapi multimodal dapat menjadi pendekatan efektif dalam mengatasi nyeri dan meningkatkan fungsi aktivitas pada pasien OA.Case Presentation: Seorang perempuan usia 52 tahun dengan diagnosis OA genu dextra grade 1 menjalani fisioterapi sebanyak empat sesi selama dua minggu. Evaluasi dilakukan sebelum dan setelah terapi menggunak NPRS, MMT, dan WOMAC.Management and Outcome: Melaporkan respons klinis pasien OA genu dextra grade 1 terhadap kombinasi intervensi yaitu Ultrasound (US), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), serta latihan Open Kinetic Chain (OKC) dan Close Kinetic Chain (CKC).Result: Adanya penurunan skor NPRS pada nyeri saat gerak (6 menjadi 3), nyeri tekan (4 menjadi 2), dan nyeri istirahat (1 menjadi 0). Kekuatan otot meningkat dari MMT skor 4 menjadi 5. Skor WOMAC menunjukkan penurunan dari 42 menjadi 23, menandakan perbaikan fungsi aktivitas harian. Conclusion: Kombinasi fisioterapi US, TENS, OKC, dan CKC berpotensi memberikan manfaat klinis jangka pendek bagi pasien OA genu grade 1. Namun, temuan ini bersifat deskriptif dan perlu dikaji lebih lanjut melalui studi eksperimental dengan sampel yang lebih besar.
