Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes on the topic of regional cultural diversity through the use of Pop-Up Book media in Grade V of SD Inpres Perumnas 1 Kota Kupang. The problem identified in this study was the low learning outcomes of students caused by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of innovative learning media. The objective of this study was to enhance students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of Pop-Up Book media. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 20 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The results showed that the implementation of Pop-Up Book media significantly improved students’ learning outcomes. The average score increased from 63.25 with 45% mastery in Cycle I to 80.75 with 90% mastery in Cycle II. In addition, teacher and student activities also improved from the “fair” category in Cycle I to the “very good” and “good” categories in Cycle II. These findings indicate that Pop-Up Book media is effective in improving students’ understanding, learning motivation, and learning outcomes in cultural diversity material.

Abstract

This study was conducted due to the low learning outcomes of third-grade students in Pancasila Education, particularly on the topic of rights and obligations at SDN Danau Ina Oesapa. This condition was reflected in students’ low achievement scores and limited participation during the learning process. The learning activities were still dominated by conventional teaching methods, with limited use of innovative learning models and media, which affected students’ understanding of the material. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of the STAD-type cooperative learning model assisted by animated video media on students’ learning outcomes in the rights and obligations material. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 36 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test with SPSS version 27. The results showed that students who were taught using the STAD-type cooperative learning model assisted by animated video media achieved better learning outcomes than those who were taught using conventional methods. The experimental class obtained a mean posttest score of 78.6, while the control class achieved a mean score of 65.8. Hypothesis testing revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of < 0.001, which was lower than 0.05. Therefore, the STAD-type cooperative learning model assisted by animated video media had a significant positive effect on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, particularly on the rights and obligations material.

Abstract

The study entitled “The Effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning Model with the Use of Scrapbook Media on Students’ Learning Motivation in IPAS Learning for Grade IV at UPTD SD Inpres Naikoten 1” was motivated by the low learning motivation of students, which had an impact on the less optimal learning outcomes. This condition was reflected in the low level of student involvement in the learning process and learning outcomes that had not yet reached the predetermined mastery criteria. This study aimed to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning method assisted by scrapbook media on improving students’ learning motivation. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of the study were 14 students. Data collection techniques included observation, learning motivation questionnaires administered before and after the treatment, and documentation study. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed an increase in students’ learning motivation after the treatment, with a mean difference value of −20.714. The statistical test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.002 (< 0.05), indicating that there was a significant difference in learning motivation before and after the treatment. Therefore, the use of learning media implemented in this study proved to be effective in improving students’ learning motivation.
