Abstract

The low level of understanding of public health is one of the factors in the practice of early marriage. This community service purposes to address the problem of understanding early marriage, from a health perspective for students in SMPN IV Lumbang Satu Atap in the farming community of Sapih Village, Lumbang District, Probolinggo Regency. The Service Learning method used socialization focusing on health issues, and the pre-test and post-test are used to see students’ and parents’ understanding. The results show that socialization can solve the problem of students’ and parents’ understanding of the impact of erly marriage from a health perspective. The contextual delivery of material becomes the subject of discussion when implementing it  outreach to farming communities in rural areas.

Abstract

This training was conducted for prospective teachers at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to develop participants' understanding and practical skills in differentiated learning. This community service was designed in several stages including preparation, socialization, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation of activities. The training materials included materials on student diversity, dimensions of diversity, equality and justice in learning, learning according to ability level, basic principles of differentiated learning, strategies for differentiating learning, and assessment in differentiated learning. The community service team also provided assistance to participants in preparing learning designs and ended with filling out a questionnaire to assess the implementation of the training as a whole. The results of the questionnaire showed that 93% of participants experienced an increase in understanding, 95% were motivated to implement differentiated learning and 100% of participants gave a positive response to the community service activities.

Abstract

Waste management is an issue that requires serious handling, one solution that can be done related to the waste problem in schools is through training in making creative artwork using waste or used goods. This community service activity was carried out at Madrasah Uthmaniah Malaysia with a training method that includes several stages such as (a) presentation of materials, (b) implementation of training, (c) practical assignments, and (d) monitoring and evaluation. This activity is also packaged in direct practice to provide practical experience to students, can contribute to learning arts and culture in schools, as well as awareness of the importance of sustainable environmental management. This activity ended with filling out a questionnaire and feedback by participants which showed that the majority of participants gave a positive response to the community service activities that had been carried out.
