Abstract

This activity aimed to enhance their digital literacy and skills in creating innovative learning media. The training focused on using the user-friendly Canva platform for website design and development. A community service activity in the form of training on creating simple websites using Canva was conducted for 48 prospective early childhood education teachers at FKIP Unram. The evaluation was carried out by assessing the websites produced by participants using a Likert scale on five aspects: Content and Substance, Design and Aesthetics, Functionality, Technical Aspects, and Work Process. The evaluation results showed that participants successfully mastered the website development process (average 3.89), functionality (average 3.79), and content presentation (average 3.77). However, the design aspect (average 3.65) and technical aspects (average 3.35) still require improvement. This activity concluded that Canva is an effective tool for website development training, but improvements in design and technical aspects are needed for more optimal results. This training significantly contributed to the development of digital competencies of prospective early childhood education teachers.

Abstract

Mental health is a fundamental aspect that prospective teachers must possess to carry out their professional roles effectively. Prospective teachers face various demands that begin in their university years and continue into their future careers as educators. This community service program aims to provide mental health training for elementary teacher candidates at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. The training was conducted in three sessions covering topics such as mental health awareness for teacher candidates, challenges and risks related to teachers’ mental health, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment, self-care for prospective teachers, as well as stress management and resilience. A total of 180 students from semesters 1, 3, and 5 participated in this activity. The implementation methods included material delivery, interactive discussions, video-based learning, and guided reflection. The results indicate that participants gained a better understanding of mental health issues and developed basic skills in managing stress and building resilience. This program is expected to serve as an initial step in fostering mental health awareness and readiness among prospective teachers.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of ethnoparenting socialization at PAUD Al-Hidayah, North Lombok, aimed at evaluating parents’ understanding of the importance of integrating local cultural values into early childhood care. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied through participatory observation, documentation study, and group discussions. Findings indicate that the program successfully enhanced parental awareness of core values such as religiosity, cultural identity, connection with nature, communal cooperation, and the father’s role in child-rearing. These results align with various ethnoparenting studies across Indonesia, including those in Kapuas Hulu, Madura, Sundanese, Minangkabau, and Pamona communities, which emphasize the importance of local wisdom in shaping children’s character. Therefore, ethnoparenting socialization can be considered an effective strategy to strengthen family education in frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged regions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas taman baca dalam meningkatkan minat baca anak di Desa Sandik dengan meninjau pengaruh fasilitas, peran fasilitator, dan aksesibilitas lokasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana faktor internal dan eksternal taman baca berkontribusi dalam membentuk minat baca anak di wilayah pedesaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif eksplanatif dengan pendekatan regresi linier berganda (OLS). Data primer diperoleh dari 52 responden anak yang rutin berkunjung ke Taman Baca Desa Sandik pada periode Agustus 2025 melalui angket berskala Likert. Analisis data meliputi uji asumsi klasik, uji parsial (t-test), uji simultan (F-test), serta koefisien determinasi (R²) menggunakan perangkat lunak EViews 10. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fasilitas taman baca dan peran fasilitator berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat baca anak, sedangkan aksesibilitas lokasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Secara simultan, ketiga variabel memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat baca dengan nilai R² sebesar 0,4739, yang berarti 47,39% variasi minat baca anak dapat dijelaskan oleh model penelitian. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kualitas pengalaman literasi anak lebih ditentukan oleh ketersediaan fasilitas yang memadai dan pendampingan fasilitator yang aktif dibandingkan kemudahan akses lokasi. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya peningkatan sarana taman baca, penguatan kapasitas fasilitator melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, serta pengembangan strategi pendampingan kreatif dan promosi literasi untuk memperkuat peran taman baca sebagai pusat pembelajaran di pedesaan.
