Abstract

Mathematical literacy focuses on students' ability to analyze, solve, and interpret mathematical problems in a variety of contexts. These abilities need to be measured so that they can be a reference to find ways to improve students' mathematical literacy skills. The shift to an independent curriculum can be a new gateway for learning in Indonesia to improve students' mathematical skills. The purpose of this study is to determine the mathematical literacy ability of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 21 Bengkulu Tengah in implementing the independent curriculum. This study investigated 25 students who used the independent curriculum. As a method of data collection, written tests, interviews, and documentation were used. The results of the study show that most students are still at a low level of mathematical literacy. 8 students reached level 1c, 2 students were at level 1b, and only 1 student reached level 1a. On the PISA scale, level 1c is the lowest level, where students can only answer questions with very explicit information, while level 3 shows the ability to use reasoning and apply mathematical concepts in more complex contexts. This low achievement is influenced by the lack of habit of solving contextual problems, difficulty understanding the information in the problem, and limited ability in basic calculation operations. These findings show the need for improvement in the approach to mathematics learning with an emphasis on contextual problems, and the practice of applied numeracy skills. Literasi matematis berfokus pada kemampuan siswa untuk menganalisis, memecahkan, dan menafsirkan masalah matematis dalam berbagai konteks. Kemampuan tersebut perlu diukur sehingga dapat menjadi acuan untuk mencari cara bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Pergeseran ke kurikulum merdeka dapat menjadi gerbang baru bagi pembelajaran di Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 21 Bengkulu Tengah dalam menerapkan kurikulum merdeka. Penelitian ini menyelidiki 25 siswa yang menggunakan kurikulum merdeka. Sebagai metode pengumpulan data digunakan tes tertulis, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih berada pada level literasi matematis rendah. 8 siswa mencapai level 1c, 2 siswa berada di level 1b, dan hanya 1 siswa mencapai level 1a. Dalam skala PISA, level 1c merupakan tingkat terendah, di mana siswa hanya dapat menjawab soal dengan informasi yang sangat eksplisit, sedangkan level 3 menunjukkan kemampuan menggunakan penalaran dan menerapkan konsep matematika dalam konteks yang lebih kompleks. Rendahnya capaian ini dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya kebiasaan menyelesaikan soal kontekstual, kesulitan memahami informasi dalam soal, serta terbatasnya kemampuan dalam operasi hitung dasar. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya perbaikan dalam pendekatan pembelajaran matematika dengan menekankan pada soal-soal kontekstual, dan latihan keterampilan berhitung yang aplikatif.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing power losses due to load imbalance in the medium-voltage distribution network in Pasar Aceh. The aim is to determine the magnitude of power losses that occur at the distribution substation in Pasar Aceh. The research method involves analysis, calculations, and simulations using the ETAP 12.6 software. The results of the analysis indicate that load imbalance in the Pasar Aceh substation leads to power losses. The Trafo Samping Pasar Aceh experiences power losses of 0.77% with a load imbalance of 16.33%. The second transformer in the BNI 46 area incurs power losses of 0.98% with a load imbalance of 30.33%, and the transformer in the BLKG KOTTY area has power losses of 1.17% with a load imbalance of 50.33%. These findings affirm that the greater the load imbalance, the higher the resulting power losses in the electrical distribution network.

Abstract

This experimental study examines the impact of speed variations on the 2.5 mm nozzle diameter in low-carbon steel laser cutting. The primary objective is to optimize the roundness of the cut by considering cutting speed factors. Through a series of experiments conducted on low-carbon steel plates measuring 200 mm x 200 mm, utilizing a 2.5 mm nozzle diameter with speed variations of 2, 3, and 4 m/minute, the research measures roundness quality using a digital caliper. Results indicate that cutting speed influences roundness quality, with the lowest deviation observed at a speed of 2 m/minute and the highest at 3 m/minute. The study also highlights that increased cutting speed and the use of a larger nozzle require higher gas pressure.

Abstract

This study was focused on the characterize the hibridisation of kenaf and sugar palm fibre in reinforcing the polypropylene matrix. Addition of MAPP (Maleic Anhydride Polypropylene) was used as compatibilizing agent with variation of 2%, 3% and 5%. The specimen materials were prepared with 30% amounts of fibres while the ratios between kenaf and sugar palm fibre are 10:20, 15:15 and 20:10. The composites were fabricated using melt mixer technique and followed by compression molding process. The specimens were cut according ASTM Standard D790 for conducting the flexural testing. After testing done, the results shown that flexural strength of composites tend to decreased when the content of MAPP increased. The ultimate flexural strength was attained at 2% MAPP addition of the hybrid composites with 20% kenaf fibres. Among the composites with different ratios, the hybrid composites that contain more kenaf fibres exhibit the higher value in flexural strength than the composites that contain more sugar palm fibres.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hybrid natural-natural fibre reinforced polymer composites become attractive alternative to seek the friendly-environmentally materials. Study on the durability level of the hybrid composites have the importance reason due to the role in application as structural function. This study focuses on examining the fatigue strength of polypropylene polymer composites reinforced with hybrid sugar palm-kenaf fibres. The hybrid composite materials were prepared by mixing the fibres and matrix with several compositions. There are five composition types of specimens that evaluated, such as 70:10:10, 70:15:15, 70:20:10, 80:10:10 and 90:5:5. The hybrid composites were composed by PP, sugar palm fibre and kenaf fibre. Furtheremore the tensile test were conducted to find the value of ultimate tensile strength for every specimens of hybrid composites. The fatigue test also were conducted with four level of stress i.e. 80%, 70%, 60% and 50%. The results show that in the lower level of stress, the hybrid composites with higher content of sugar palm fibre posses the better performance of fatigue life compare to the others

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa resmi negara memiliki peran sentral dalam administrasi pemerintahan, khususnya dalam penyusunan surat dinas yang menuntut ketepatan berbahasa sesuai Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI). Namun, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan masih banyak ditemukan kesalahan ejaan dalam redaksi surat masuk di Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Kabupaten Buton Selatan, yang berdampak pada penurunan kredibilitas lembaga, potensi salah tafsir, dan melemahnya efektivitas komunikasi birokrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi serta mendeskripsikan berbagai bentuk kesalahan ejaan dalam surat resmi, sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran empiris mengenai kualitas penerapan kaidah bahasa dalam praktik administrasi daerah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi surat masuk resmi periode Januari–Desember 2024, kemudian dianalisis dengan tahapan identifikasi, klasifikasi, tabulasi, interpretasi, dan penyimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari dua belas surat yang dianalisis, terdapat berbagai kesalahan dominan, seperti penggunaan huruf kapital yang tidak konsisten, kesalahan penulisan kata majemuk, kekeliruan tanda baca, serta singkatan yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah baku. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya peningkatan keterampilan kebahasaan aparatur melalui pelatihan teknis, penyediaan pedoman ejaan, serta penerapan sistem pemeriksaan internal untuk meningkatkan mutu tata naskah dinas di lingkungan pemerintahan daerah.

Abstract

This article is the result of community service activities carried out collaboratively by students, teachers, and lecturers of the University of Muhammadiyah Buton through the School Field Introduction (PLP) 2 program at SD Negeri 1 Wameo. The purpose of this activity is to instill and internalize the values of local wisdom as the basis for the formation of peace-loving character in elementary school students. The implementation method includes three main stages, namely: (1) character development through an educational approach, (2) application of local values through interactive and contextual activities such as role-playing, and (3) strengthening and interpreting character through reflection and habituation. The local values raised are sourced from the Buton cultural philosophy, namely PO-5: Pomaamaasiaka (loving each other), Popiapiara (caring for each other), Pomaemaeka (mutual respect), Poangka-angkata (raising each other's dignity), and Pobincibinciki (caring for each other's feelings). The results of the activity showed that students not only understood grades cognitively, but were also able to experience them emotionally and socially in daily life. This activity proves that an approach based on local wisdom can be an effective strategy in strengthening character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan fase transisi yang rentan terhadap berbagai masalah kesehatan, termasuk kesehatan reproduksi, yang seringkali kurang dipahami oleh siswa di daerah pedesaan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan sikap positif siswa mengenai kesehatan reproduksi remaja agar mereka mampu menjaga diri secara mandiri dan bertanggung jawab. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan interaktif, simulasi praktik, serta penggunaan media edukasi berupa poster, booklet, brosur, dan video. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 45 siswa kelas VII hingga IX. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMP Sarah Mane, Kecamatan Meurah Dua, Kabupaten Pidie Jaya, dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa mengenai kesehatan reproduksi remaja. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengikuti sosialisasi dengan antusias, aktif dalam sesi tanya jawab, dan mampu mengulang kembali materi yang disampaikan. Simulasi praktik juga memberikan pengalaman nyata bagi siswa untuk menjaga kebersihan diri dan kesehatan reproduksi. Dukungan dari guru dan pihak sekolah semakin memperkuat keberlanjutan program edukasi ini. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah meningkatnya pemahaman dan membentuk sikap positif siswa terhadap kesehatan reproduksi sebagai upaya membangun generasi remaja yang sehat dan bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

Early childhood education (PAUD) is very important to prepare an educated generation for the nation and state, and the role of early childhood educators (PAUD) is very important in the development of students. Educators need to go beyond traditional learning by providing learning innovations that utilize information technology, including the ability to master the latest information technology. The focus of the Community Service Program (PKM) is to improve   the quality of human resources (HR) of PAUD organizers in Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh Province in the field of information technology, so that they are able to support the management of learning and educational activities. In improving the quality of kindergarten teaching staff in the field of information technology is related to supervision management and making daily learning implementation plans (RPPH). With a system that allows teachers to quickly resolve administrative problems, it is hoped that they can use their time to further develop their knowledge and skills regarding PAUD administrative problems.

Abstract

Building a safety culture in the home or family environment will tend to be more difficult than building a safety culture in the workplace. This community service program aims to provide health and safety education to housewives in Naga Umbang Village, Lhoknga District, Aceh. Through various outreach activities, such as seminars, workshops and practical demonstrations, it is hoped that housewives can increase understanding and awareness of the importance of good health practices and safety measures in everyday life. It is hoped that the results of this program evaluation can provide constructive input for continuous improvement and increasing the welfare of local communities.
