Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the impact of operational performance and warehouse management digitalization on logistics productivity at PT Sinar Insan Dunia Express (SIDEX), Medan, through the lens of Islamic economics. Using an associative quantitative design, data were collected via questionnaires from 62 employees across logistics, operations, and warehousing divisions, and analyzed with SPSS version 25 using multiple linear regression. Results indicate that warehouse digitalization significantly enhances logistics productivity and operational efficiency (F(2,59) = 58.65; p < 0.001; Adjusted R2 = 0.654). Specifically, a one-unit increase in digitalization (DG) and operational performance (KO) is associated with a 0.534 and 0.532 increase in productivity (PD), respectively (p < 0.05). Viewed through Islamic economic principles, these practices embody amanah (trust), itqan (work excellence), and maslahah (public benefit), while supporting hifz al-mal (protection of wealth) through accurate records and audit trails. The study underscores the importance for logistics firms to integrate technological innovation with human resource effectiveness under Shariah values to achieve ethical and sustainable business outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a hypertensive syndrome affecting 3–8% of pregnancies worldwide, involving multiple organ systems, and typically occurring after 20 weeks of gestation. In Surabaya, 1,265 cases were reported in 2023. Optimal prevention of preeclampsia is achieved through early screening at 11–13 weeks of gestation during antenatal care. Maternal knowledge and awareness are essential determinants of timely screening, as non-adherence to antenatal care has been associated with insufficient understanding of pregnancy management, delayed recognition of complications including preeclampsia and chronic conditions, and has ultimately contributed to the persistently high rates of preeclampsia and maternal and neonatal mortality in Indonesia. The aim was to analyze factors influencing pregnant women’s knowledge regarding preeclampsia screening. Method: This research employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach, using a purposive sampling method. This study involved 91 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria: women in the first to third trimester of pregnancy who had attended at least two antenatal care visits. A structured questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test to examine the relationship between educational level and parity experience and the pregnant women’s level of knowledge regarding preeclampsia screening. Results: The study included 91 pregnant women as respondents. 56 % respondent had secondary level of education, 52% respondents were moderate parity and 52 % respondents demonstrated good knowledge, Showed significant associations between education level (p < 0.001) and parity (p = 0.031) with knowledge of preeclampsia screening. Conclusions: That demographic factors and reproductive experiences influence maternal knowledge. Therefore, education on preeclampsia screening should be tailored to maternal characteristics, and the active involvement of healthcare providers is essential to support comprehensive, holistic, and sustainable midwifery care.

Abstract

Introduction: Malaria has been a significant public health issue in Liberia, with behavioural and environmental factors influencing transmission and consequences. This study evaluated the association between patient behavior and housing condition with malaria status and severity in a military hospital in Margibi County, Liberia, in 2024. Methods: A cross-sectional study utilising 54 patients infected with P. Falciparum, where 53.7% were male, aged 20 to 49, and 46.3% were female, examining the association between patients' behaviour, housing condition and malaria severity in the Fourteenth Military Hospital in 2024. The association between variables was analysed using Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests. Results and Discussion: The association between patient behavior and housing conditions with malaria case status was statistically insignificant, as was the association between these factors and malaria severity. Small sample sizes and unmeasured confounders may not have provided sufficient statistical power to detect significant differences between groups, even though stronger associations between certain variables might exist but were undetected due to limited data. Further research with a more controlled design and larger sample sizes will be necessary to investigate the association between these variables further. Conclusion: There was no significant association between patient behavior and housing conditions with malaria case status or severity. A more systematic approach to data collection, incorporating factors related to malaria status and severity, could provide a clearer understanding of the contributors to P. falciparum infection status and disease, which can be correlated with patient behavior.
