Abstract

One type of pest that can damage, eat, and disrupt the production process of rice plants is bird pests. Pest attacks on rice plants, both directly and indirectly, can cause a significant decrease in production. One method of pest control that can be applied effectively by farmers is the installation of nets on rice plants. This community service activity was carried out in Sidokepung Village, Buduran District, Sidoarjo Regency with the aim of knowing the application of nets on rice panicles as a protection against bird attacks, as well as evaluating the impacts caused after its application. The implementation method was carried out in a participatory and educational manner through direct demonstrations. The results of the activity showed that technically, net installation was carried out by covering the top of the rice plant using nets to prevent birds from entering, while still allowing sunlight and air circulation to reach the plants. The use of nets was able to suppress bird populations, reduce damage to panicles, and significantly increase yields. Although the initial cost of installation is relatively high, this method has proven effective and worthy of wider development because it is environmentally friendly and supports the efficiency of farmers' work time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting domestic supply, domestic demand, and exports of cocoa beans in Indonesia. The model in this study used simultaneous equations with the analysis method in the form of Two Stage Least Square (2SLS). This research uses secondary data with a time period of 2006 - 2021. The results of this study explain that:(1) Domestic cocoa bean supply is influenced by domestic cocoa bean prices, domestic coffee bean prices, productivity levels, exports, and the previous year’s supply. (2) Domestic demand for cocoa beans is influenced by domestic cocoa bean prices, domestic coffee bean prices, exports, and the previous year’s demand. (3) Cocoa bean exports are influenced by international prices, exchange rates, domestic cocoa bean supply, and domestic cocoa bean demand. The results of this study are expected to contribute to policy recommendations for the government to maximize the supply, demand, and export of cocoa beans. The limitations of this study lie in the fact that the data was collected via the internet and sourced from several different publications, which may have led to discrepancies in the data for the same year.

Abstract

Cultivating organic vegetables promises significant benefits such as supporting environmental health, increasing farmer welfare, and improving food quality. Even though demand for organic vegetables continues to increase, farmers' awareness and understanding regarding organic cultivation is still limited due to barriers to access to information and the strong tradition of conventional farming. To overcome these obstacles, service activities are carried out through socialization of organic vegetable cultivation, in collaboration with CV Reja Mayur. This outreach not only provides technical information on organic cultivation but also highlights economic and environmental aspects. Approach methods through lectures, discussions and simulations are used to provide significant understanding to socialization participants. The results of this activity are not only aimed at meeting market demand for organic vegetables, but also as a strategic step in achieving sustainable agriculture. The hope is that farmers can implement organic vegetable cultivation practices with sufficient confidence and knowledge, create positive transformations in their lives, and have a positive impact on the local community and environment.

Abstract

The Rahayu IV Farmer Group aims to capitalize on this potential by developing Kopi Gunung Kelir Agrotourism. However, visitor activity has been low, likely due to the site's limited visibility, its newness, and its remote location. This lack of awareness and accessibility affects its growth as a tourist destination. This study aims to determine the current conditions and determine the strategy plan for the development of Kopi Gunung Kelir Agrotourism through Business Model Canvas and SWOT analysis. The BMC assessed nine key business components and aims to facilitate the preparation of strategic plans through each component or block in the business model, while SWOT analysis identified internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats. Key strengths included educational tourism offerings, high-quality Robusta coffee production, and scenic landscapes. Weaknesses were limited infrastructure, promotion, and accessibility. Opportunities arose from the growing eco-tourism and coffee culture, while threats included competition from other agrotourism sites and fluctuating visitor interest. The study proposed strategies like expanding road access, optimizing digital marketing through platforms like TikTok, improving visitor facilities, and fostering partnerships with sponsors and local stakeholders.

Abstract

The development of coffee consumption in Indonesia has shown a significant increase over the past decade, particularly among urban communities and younger generations. Coffee is no longer merely perceived as a beverage but has become part of a lifestyle associated with social activities and productivity. This trend has fueled the rapid growth of the coffee shop industry, including Otewe Kopi Surabaya, which targets the young consumer segment. This study aims to analyze the influence of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on consumer purchase decisions at Otewe Kopi Surabaya. Employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, this research adopts a quantitative approach through a survey method. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 96 respondents who were customers of Otewe Kopi. The results indicate that all constructs meet the criteria for convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability. The R² value of 0.677 reveals that 67.7% of the variance in purchase decisions can be explained by attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The study concludes that these three core variables of the TPB have a significant and positive influence on consumer purchase decisions. Theoretically, this study strengthens consumer behavior models from psychological and social perspectives, while practically providing insights for business practitioners to develop effective marketing strategies by fostering positive attitudes toward the brand, reinforcing supportive social norms, and enhancing perceptions of ease in purchase.

Abstract

The performance of the supply chain department requires precision and loyalty to vendors, which must, of course, align with established work procedures. The supply of raw materials that do not comply with the specified standards can lead to errors in the ongoing procedures. This study aims to identify risk priorities using the SCOR research method, analyze the sources of risk through the FMEA analysis method, and examine priority risks along with proposed strategies in the RTD (Ready-to-Drink) industry supply chain using a fishbone diagram supported by the 5W+1H model. Primary data was collected through direct observation at PT Great Giant Pineapple, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 10 respondents with key roles in the RTD industry supply chain process. The findings of the study indicate that: (1) A total of 27 risks were identified in the RTD beverage industry supply chain, consisting of 9 risks in the planning process, 3 in sourcing, 8 in manufacturing, 4 in delivery, and 3 in returns; (2) There are three top-priority risks with the highest rankings; (3) The proposed strategies are predominantly focused on improving the work systems of vendors and the purchasing department to prevent recurrence in future periods

Abstract

Poverty among farmers is still present despite efforts to develop agriculture to increase farmers' income. The amount of household income influences the degree of household well-being. When household income rises, household expenditure typically increases accordingly. Consequently, higher-income households achieve greater prosperity than those with lower incomes. Sources of household income include earnings from farming activities such as cultivation, activities outside cultivation, and activities beyond the agricultural sector. The poverty rate in Batu City continues to decline because many residents have switched professions from farmers to the tourism sector. After all, farming does not provide welfare for farmers. This paper analyzes household income, assesses potato farmers' welfare, and identifies factors influencing potato farmers' welfare in Sumberbrantas Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City. The research period is March 2024—Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method with 67 respondents. Primary data collection was done through interviews and the use of questionnaires. The first objective is analyzed by calculating on-farm, off-farm, and non-farm income. The second objective was analyzed by measuring the level of well-being using Sajogyo's theory. The third objective is analyzed using binary logit regression. The findings of this study show that the average farmer's income is relatively high, with the highest income coming from potato farming.

Abstract

The marketing mix is one of the strategies that must be developed to build the image of a business so that it can be a factor in increasing customer satisfaction. Consumer satisfaction refers to the degree to which an individual's actual state is influenced by comparing the apparent look of a product to their assumptions. Increasing customer satisfaction is a fundamental aspect of the sustainability of a business. Many industries have an impact on competition between businesses, so every business tries to make its customers feel satisfied. This research attempts to examine the effect of the marketing mix simultaneously and partially on customer satisfaction and measure the level of customer satisfaction. This research was conducted in Jember district from February 2024 to March 2024. The study used quantitative methods with a survey approach. This study's primary and secondary data sources are primary and secondary. Accidental sampling, a non-probability sampling technique, is utilized by the sampling approach. The data analysis approach used was the SEM (Structural Equation Model) and CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index), which used 68 respondents. The study findings reveal that the coefficient of determination (R square) is obtained at 0.578, or when percent, there are 57.8 percent. Variables that affect customer satisfaction. Partially, the price variable (X2), promotion (X4), process (X6), and physical evidence (X7) have a significant effect on customer satisfaction, while the product variable (X1), place (X3), people (X5) have no significant effect. In addition, the results of calculating the level of satisfaction of BIKLA coffee consumers show a CSI value of 79.86%, indicating that consumers are satisfied with the services provided.
