Abstract

Abstract

Macro level corruption practices are often rooted in the tolerance of normalized micro-scale deviations (petty corruption) during adolescence. This study aims to identify the forms, analyze the causal factors, map the implications, and formulate mitigation strategies for petty corruption through Anti-Corruption Education. Employing a qualitative approach with an embedded single case study design, this research was conducted at SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Preliminary data from 88 respondents indicated a high prevalence of infractions, dominated by delayed assignment submissions (10.2%), tardiness (9.0%), and financial deceit (7.9%). Subsequent data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the analytical frameworks of the Fraud Triangle Theory and the Broken Windows Theory. The findings indicate that rationalization and peer pressure serve as the primary driving forces behind petty corruption. Pedagogical interventions through the exemplary conduct of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) teachers, coupled with the habituation of a climate of integrity, have proven essential in deconstructing corrupt mentalities and restoring the civic disposition of the students

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Nusantara cultural diversity exploration expedition in strengthening civic engagement among nature-lover organization members through a comparative study of Perhimpunan Penempuh Rimba dan Pendaki Gunung Wanadri and MAPACH UPI. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with purposively selected informants. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing using source and technique triangulation. The findings show that expeditions serve as spaces for civic engagement reflected in social engagement, volunteerism engagement, and cultural engagement. Differences in organizational characteristics indicate that Wanadri develops civic engagement through pioneering, exploration, humanity, and environmental orientations, while MAPACH UPI integrates civic engagement through an academic approach based on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the cloze technique in democratic learning to foster democratic mindsets among Phase B elementary school students (grades 3-4) grounded in Vygotsky's social constructivism theory. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles involving 25 third-grade students at SDN Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Data collection utilized democratic attitude observation sheets, teacher activity observation sheets, and field notes. The findings revealed a significant progressive improvement in students' democratic dispositions, with mean scores increasing from 41.2 (pre-cycle) to 65.8 (cycle I), reaching 82.4 (cycle II), with 88% of students achieving the "good" category. The cloze technique successfully facilitated students' active engagement in meaning-making processes through scaffolded discourse completion activities, promoting critical thinking, deliberation skills, and respect for diverse perspectives. This research contributes to the theoretical development of democratic pedagogy in elementary education and offers practical implications for integrating constructivist approaches in citizenship education, demonstrating that structured linguistic gaps in democratic-themed texts can serve as effective cognitive tools for constructing democratic understanding. The findings suggest that the cloze technique, when embedded within a social constructivist framework, provides a viable pedagogical strategy for cultivating democratic citizenship competencies in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of picture story media and role-playing method in Civics Education on early corruption prevention through building ethical awareness in elementary school students. Using a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design, this research involved 62 fourth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through ethical awareness questionnaires and observation sheets, then analyzed using independent sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the holistic approach combining picture stories and role-playing had a significant influence on students' ethical awareness (t-count 4.32 > t-table 2.00) with an N-Gain score of 0.68 in the medium category. The integration of visual narratives and experiential learning through role-playing enabled students to internalize anti-corruption values such as honesty, responsibility, and care for public goods more effectively compared to conventional methods. This research contributes to the development of innovative Civics Education learning models oriented toward character building and early corruption prevention in elementary schools.
