Abstract

Sukodono District, Sidoarjo, experienced soil degradation due to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers without the accompaniment of organic fertilizers. As a solution, training on making humic acid from water hyacinth was carried out in Plumbungan Village on May 14–23, 2025. This activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in processing local organic matter into environmentally friendly liquid fertilizer. The training included socialization, leaflet distribution, and direct practice of fermenting water hyacinth with additional rice washing water, brown sugar, and MOL. The results of the activity show an increase in farmers' understanding and enthusiasm for the use of plant waste as organic fertilizer. Humic acid is considered to be able to improve soil structure and increase agricultural yields. This program is the first step to encourage sustainable agriculture and make farmers more independent in using local resources productively. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilising IFE-EFE matrix analysis techniques, a SWOT matrix, and a QSPM matrix. The results of the SWOT analysis recommend that the company should implement a Strengths-Opportunities strategy, which includes two alternative strategies sorted by the QSPM matrix to determine the most important strategy. The results of the QSPM matrix rank three alternative strategies, namely Improving quality by developing new product innovations to overcome the threat of pests and diseases, as having the highest score of 6.945. The strategy of educating farmers on the importance of proper crop rotation to mitigate and break the chain of spreading pests and diseases has a score of 6.912. The strategy of improving product defect rates and offering more competitive prices to face competition and price fluctuations has a score of 6.826. Abstract

Cepoko Village, Jombang Regency, is one of the rice production centers that produces large amounts of husk waste. So far, the waste has been burned or discarded, causing environmental problems and failing to provide added value to the community. This service activity aims to empower farmer groups by utilising rice husk waste to produce environmentally friendly board particles. The methods used include problem identification, technical training, production assistance, and participatory evaluation. The production process involves shredding the husk, mixing adhesive materials, pressing, and drying. The results of the activity demonstrate an increase in the community's understanding and technical skills in converting waste into products of economic value. The resulting board particles have the potential to be developed as alternative building materials. This program also has an impact on the growth of environmental awareness and the opening of local, resource-based business opportunities. This activity proves that appropriate technological approaches combined with participatory empowerment can encourage socio-economic transformation at the village level. Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):SDG 8: Decent jobs and economic growthSDG 11: Sustainable cities and settlements

Abstract

The concept of community-based tourism village development is that all activities carried out must be based on, from, and for the community. The purpose of this study was to describe the process of community empowerment through the management of Jambu Tourism Village and to formulate a strategy for developing a tourism village. The research method used was descriptive analysis and SOAR matrix analysis. The results of the study showed that the process of community empowerment in Jambu Tourism Village had three stages, namely the awareness stage through the socialization process; the capacity building stage consisted of providing guidance and training, the formation of the BUMDes Jaya Makmur organization, and the empowerment stage consisted of community involvement both in the role of the organization and the implementation of activities in Jambu Tourism Village. The main strategy that can be suggested based on the SOAR matrix analysis functions to compile strategic factors that describe how strength can be determined by the SA (Strength-Aspiration) strategy, namely using strength to realize aspirations, meaning that Jambu Tourism Village must strengthen in the field of increasing the quantity and quality of tourist attractions by combining traditional village nuances with contemporary touches, strengthening in services to visitors and maximizing the use of social media.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is a household waste often thrown away, which can damage the environment and endanger health. This community service activity was carried out in Kemiri Village to educate young people about using used cooking oil to make environmentally friendly aromatherapy candles. The method used was interactive discussion and direct presentation so that participants not only understood the theory but were also able to spread the candle-making independently. The activity results indicated that participants were highly enthusiastic and actively engaged in the discussion. In addition to increasing awareness of the value of waste management, this activity created chances for small businesses based on recycled goods to grow. We expect this education, which uses household waste, to inspire the village youth to be more environmentally conscious and creative. Abstract

Mushrooms are one of the many plant commodities consumed and cultivated by Indonesian people. Crispy mushroom is a processed product of UMKM KWT Sri Rejeki which is in great demand by consumers. This production activity continues to experience development by facing various kinds of obstacles that occur, one of which is in the packaging process where the packaged mushrooms release residual frying oil so that they require Appropriate Technology (TTG) in the form of a spinner or oil drainer. So that KKN-T Group 29 students from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur, designed a tool to help UMKM KWT Sri Rejeki drain the oil in the crispy mushrooms so that they are of higher quality. This tool assembly activity was carried out by KKN-T Group 29 students with several tools and materials that were easily available and affordable.
