Abstract

This study explores an Exploration and Deployment (E&D) model that integrates reflective literacy and mental literacy to cultivate moral and psychological resilience in diverse educational and religious settings across Indonesia. Centered on the distribution of four bilingual books: Melampaui Kelas, Beyond the Classroom, Gema Keseimbangan, and Echoes of Equilibrium; the initiative reached over 40 institutions including schools, universities, religious organizations, and community libraries. These texts introduced adaptive-pervasive learning and the transformative role of mantra practices in fostering psychological well-being. In tandem, a 12-week mantra recitation program was deployed in selected institutions, guiding participants through daily practice, group reflection, and, where feasible, physiological monitoring (ECG). Pre- and post-program surveys assessed changes in emotional states, reflective capacity, and moral insight. Findings suggest that the integration of narrative-based literacy with spiritual practice significantly enhances participants’ self-regulation, empathy, and mental clarity. The study highlights the value of culturally rooted, community-embedded pedagogies in bridging educational innovation with spiritual tradition. This paper contributes to the discourse on moral education, adaptive learning, and community-based mental health strategies in the Global South.

Abstract

Students' varying abilities in solving mathematical problems significantly impact their understanding of mathematical concepts. Limited comprehension among students often leads to learning difficulties and an inability to effectively engage in the learning process. This study aims to develop a problem-based learning (PBL) mobile application designed to improve the mathematical problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students. This research adopts a development approach using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) model. The research subjects include content experts and instructional design experts. Trial subjects consist of 10 students for a small group trial and two entire classes for the large group trial. Data collection methods involve questionnaires and tests. The instruments used include the LORI (Learning Object Review Instrument), the UEQ (User Experience Questionnaire), and problem-solving tests. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, and t-tests. The results indicate that the developed mathematics mobile application has been validated as effective by experts and deemed practical by end users, including teachers and students. The t-test results reveal a significant difference in students’ problem-solving abilities before and after the implementation of the mobile application as a learning medium based on the problem-based learning model. It can be concluded that the use of the mathematics mobile application leads to an improvement in students’ academic performance in mathematics. The implication of this research is that the developed problem-based learning mobile application can facilitate students’ learning processes and enhance their understanding in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of teachers ‘reflective practice in elementary schools in Bekasi, Indonesia, by analyzing teachers’ self-reflection strategies, challenges, and their impact on improving teaching. Reflective teaching practices have been increasingly recognized as a fundamental approach to improving teaching effectiveness and promoting professional growth among educators. By utilizing a mixed methods approach, data was collected from 198 language teachers through the Teacher Reflective Practice Questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The study explored five main dimensions of teacher reflection: interpersonal, intrapersonal, critical, behavioral, and strategic reflection. The results highlight the need for structured professional development programmers and institutional support to facilitate sustainable reflective teaching practices. In addition, the study underscores the importance of collaboration among educators, encouraging peer-to-peer discussions and self-assessment methods to enhance reflective practice. The findings show that teachers demonstrated high levels of interpersonal and behavioral reflection, with strong engagement in student interactions and classroom adjustments as there are still challenges in integrating reflective strategies into daily teaching due to time constraints, lack of institutional support, and limited professional development opportunities. In addition, teachers show varying levels of engagement in strategic reflection, especially in adopting technology-based reflection tools.  By addressing these gaps, policymakers and educational institutions can design more effective training programmers that support teachers to become lifelong learners. Ultimately, fostering a culture of reflection in teaching not only improves educators’ professional competence, but also enhances students’ learning experiences and outcomes

Abstract

The role of teachers in utilizing learning media in schools reflects the needs and abilities in terms of development, adaptation of technological developments, and creating learning motivation for students to achieve learning goals optimally. In this case, school management has a role that can support the utilization of learning media to be applied by teachers in schools. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of teachers in utilizing learning media in SD Negeri Tukang, using the Formative-Sumative Evaluation Model which is associated with the stages of school management. The process of school management is the planning stage, the organizing stage, the implementation stage, and the supervision stage which involves evaluation. The methodology of this study is descriptive qualitative.TData collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the role of teachers in utilizing learning media at SD Negeri Tukang has been implemented. However, most teachers do not maximize the use of media provided by the school, and lack the ability to utilize digital-based learning media that follow the development of the times.

Abstract

This study aims to develop instruments to measure digital literacy and critical thinking skills within the Civics Education course, addressing the challenge of assessing these essential competencies in the context of modern education. As digital literacy and critical thinking become increasingly crucial for active citizenship, there is a lack of comprehensive and reliable tools to evaluate these skills effectively. The research employs a development method using the 4D model, consisting of four phases: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. In the Define phase, the competencies to be assessed were clearly identified. In the Design phase, the instruments were crafted based on specific indicators of digital literacy and critical thinking. The Develop phase involved testing the reliability and validity of the instruments, while the Disseminate phase prepared the instruments for broader use. The critical thinking instrument was found to have excellent internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.908. However, certain items exhibited low item-total correlations, indicating that revisions were necessary. This study contributes to filling the gap in Civics Education by providing a reliable and valid tool for evaluating digital literacy and critical thinking, ultimately supporting the enhancement of students' competencies in these crucial areas for active and informed citizenship.

Abstract

Critical thinking and collaboration skills are essential competencies that must be fostered to address the challenges of the Society 5.0 era. However, international assessments such as PISA and TIMSS indicate that students’ mastery of these skills remains relatively low. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Collaborative Inquiry model assisted by the Mathway application on students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills in mathematics learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest–posttest control group design. The population consisted of 11 classes (447 students), with a sample of 120 students from three classes selected through group random sampling. Critical thinking skills were measured using essay tests, while collaboration skills were assessed through a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) at a 5% significance level. The findings revealed significant differences in critical thinking and collaboration skills simultaneously among students taught with Collaborative Inquiry assisted by Mathway, Collaborative Inquiry without application support, and direct instruction. The study concludes that the integration of the Mathway-assisted Collaborative Inquiry model effectively enhances students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills. These results imply the importance of integrating digital technology into collaborative learning designs to optimize 21st-century competencies.
