Abstract

Perkembangan disiplin ilmu berdampak pada perkembangan dunia tafsir. Kecenderungan seorang mufassir dalam menafsirkan ayat-ayat Al-Quran menjadi penyebab munculnya berbagai gaya penafsiran. Tafsir aqo’idi merupakan salah satu gaya tafsir yang turut mewarnai khazanah keilmuan dalam bidang tafsir. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mengkaji tafsir gaya aqo’idi sebagai upaya menambah wawasan dan pemahaman tentang sejarah lahirnya tafsir gaya aqo’idi serta memahami berbagai dinamikanya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan tinjauan pustaka untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Tafsir 'Aqoidi merupakan tafsir yang menggunakan pendekatan teologis. Sejarah munculnya aliran teologis ini dimulai pada masa Perang Shiffin, dan terjadi perselisihan antar umat Islam terkait peristiwa Tahkim. Ruang lingkup Tafsir ‘Aqoidi adalah pembahasan ilmu kalam yang menyangkut ideologi aliran. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menjelaskan perdebatan para ulama mengenai Tafsir Aqo'idi dan menulis beberapa buku karya mufassir di beberapa aliran, seperti Muta'zillah, Syiah, Sunni dan Sufi.

Abstract

Manhaj tafsir merupakan salah satu aspek dalam disiplin ilmu Tafsir Al-Qur’an yang digunakan untuk melihat kecenderungan dari suatu kitab tafsir. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk melihat kecenderungan Kitab Tafsir Fath Al-Qadir pada QS. Al-Hajj karya Imam Al-Syaukani, baik ditinjau metode umumnya maupun metode khususnya. Penelitian ini dirasa penting dilakukan karena ingin mengetahui kecenderungan Al-Syaukani dalam menafsirkan Al-Qur’an pada karya tafsirnya tersebut, karena diketahui ia berasal dari latar belakang lingkungan Syi’ah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan penyajian analisis deskriptif yang pengumpulan datanya menggunakan studi literatur. Penulis berkesimpulan bahwa Al-Syaukani dalam metode umumnya, ia menggunakan metode tahlili dan dominan menggunakan sumber bi al-ra’y, sedangkan metode khususnya selalu konsisten dengan sebelas langkahnya, seperti menyajikan ayat dan mengelompokkannya ke dalam kelompok ayat tertentu, menganalisis bahasa, menyebutkan riwayat-riwayat yang terkait, dll. Adapun dugaan kecenderungan Syi’ah, penulis tidak menemukannya pada penafsiran Al-Syaukani di dalam QS. Al-Hajj tersebut. Manhaj tafsir is one aspect in the discipline of Tafsir Al-Qur'an which is used to see the tendency of a book of interpretation.This study attempts to see the tendency of the Book of Tafsir Fath Al-Qadir in QS.Al-Hajj by Imam Al-Syaukani, both in terms of its general method and its special method.This study is considered important to be carried out because it is intended to determine Al-Syaukani's tendency in interpreting the Qur'an in his tafsir work, because it is known that he came from a Shiite background.This study is a qualitative study with the presentation of descriptive analysis whose data collection uses literature studies.The author concludes that Al-Syaukani in his general method, he uses the tahlili method and predominantly uses bi al-ra'y sources, while his special method is always consistent with his eleven steps, such as presenting verses and grouping them into certain groups of verses, analyzing language, mentioning related narrations, etc. As for the alleged Shiite tendency, the author did not find it in Al-Syaukani's interpretation in QS. Al-Hajj.

Abstract

This study examines the role of religious education in shaping students' independence and character development, particularly within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Religion plays a fundamental role in instilling moral values and guiding behavior, and in the pesantren environment, religious practices such as communal prayers, Qur’an recitation, and adherence to Islamic rituals foster noble character traits among students. Islamic education in pesantren not only deepens students' religious knowledge but also encourages the application of Islamic teachings in daily life, promoting personal growth and social responsibility. This study uses the Service Learning (SL) approach, combining academic learning with real-world community engagement. SL projects were conducted within pesantren settings, allowing students to practice autonomy and responsibility through community-centered projects that reflect Islamic values of self-reliance and compassion. Results indicate that students demonstrate a significant understanding of independence, relating it to Islamic principles such as self-sufficiency, resilience, and trust in God after putting forth effort. Findings suggest that students internalize the concept of independence not only as the ability to manage their own needs but also as a commitment to positively impacting their surroundings. The SL approach strengthens this sense of responsibility, bridging theoretical lessons with practical applications that enhance social skills, critical thinking, and self-discipline. The study concludes that pesantren education, enriched with SL-based activities, effectively nurtures independent, socially responsible individuals prepared to face contemporary challenges. Contribution: This research contributes to the discourse on educational methodologies in religious contexts, providing a framework for enhancing character education through experiential learning that aligns with Islamic principles.

Abstract

In the Qur'an, the act of using property incorrectly is known as extravagant. This research aims to explain the causes that give birth to consumerism in the modern era, including the impact of industrialization, environmental factors, and the Qur'an's view of extravagant attitudes that affect consumerism. The researcher carried out this research by using a type of literature-based qualitative research through descriptive-analytical analysis. Research data comes from primary data and secondary data, where primary data is sourced from verses of the Qur'an about wastefulness, while secondary data is sourced from books, scientific articles, and research results. Researchers conduct data analysis by selecting data, collecting data, and making conclusions. The results of the study show that consumerism has been rampant in the modern era marked by the development of the industrial and technological world, technology has had a huge impact on the growth of people's lifestyles. Lifestyle takes place due to the influence of the environment and the self that desires happiness and pleasure. In the Qur'an, surah al-Isra' verses 26-27 explain that consumptive living or consumerism originates from living extravagantly, extravagant causes humans to be neglected from giving importance to desires rather than needs. Extravagant behavior is reflected in liking to squandering wealth on something that is not useful. Islam does not give freedom to its people in life without rules, regarding the consumption of Islam does not justify extravagant behavior. The waste committed by a person reflects that he is unable to control himself and has low faith. This study recommends conducting further research on case studies of consumerism that occurs in humanity that has an influence on environmental sustainability. [Di dalam al-Qur’an perbuatan yang menggunakan harta secara tidak benar dikenal dengan istilah boros. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan sebab-sebab yang melahirkan konsumerisme di era modern, termasuk dampak industrialisasi, faktor lingkungan, dan pandangan al-Qur’an mengenai sikap boros yang berpengaruh terhadap konsumerisme. Peneliti melaksanakan penelitian ini dengan mempergunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif berbasis kepustakaan melalui analisis secara deskriptif-analitis. Data penelitian berasal dari data primer dan data sekunder, di mana data primer bersumber dari ayat al-Qur’an tentang boros, adapun data sekunder bersumber dari buku, artikel ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian. Peneliti melakukan analisis data dengan memilih data, mengumpulkan data, dan membuat kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumerisme telah merajalela di era modern yang ditandai semenjak perkembangan dunia industri dan teknologi, teknologi telah membawa dampak yang sangat besar bagi pertumbuhan gaya hidup masyarakat. Gaya hidup berlangsung disebabkan pengaruh lingkungan dan diri yang menginginkan kebahagian dan kesenangan. Pada al-Qur’an surat al-Isra’ ayat 26-27 dijelaskan bahwa hidup secara konsumtif atau konsumerisme berpangkal dari hidup secara boros, boros menyebabkan manusia terlalaikan dari mementingkan keinginan daripada kebutuhan. Perilaku boros tercermin dari kesukaan kepada menghambur-hamburkan harta kepada sesuatu yang tidak bermanfaat. Islam tidak memberikan keleluasaan kepada umatnya dalam kehidupan tanpa adanya aturan, perihal konsumsi Islam tidak membenarkan perilaku boros. Pemborosan yang dilakukan oleh seseorang mencerminkan bahwa dirinya sedang tidak mampu mengontrol diri dan rendahnya keimanan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan untuk melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai studi kasus konsumerisme yang terjadi pada umat manusia yang memiliki pengaruh terhadap keberlangsungan lingkungan hidup].

Abstract

The discourse on interfaith marriage is still a topic that is always discussed by Islamic thinkers today, along with the large number of Muslims in Indonesia who practice it. This paper will examine the tafsir of interfaith marriages from the perspective of Indonesian scholars of tafsir, namely Hamka, Quraish Shihab, and Musdah Mulia, including the socio-political driving factors of these scholars conclude the tafsir of interfaith marriages. This research is qualitative research using library data sources. The study results indicate differences in tafsir by these three commentators, where Hamka and Quraish Shihab generally conclude that interfaith marriages are prohibited. However, both of them also allow men to marry Ahli Kitab (Jews and Christians) on the grounds of an emergency or for the sake of Islamic da'wah. On the other hand, Musdah Mulia allowed interfaith marriages because there were no clear arguments for interfaith marriages. Musdah Mulia also reasoned that there is no concrete evidence that interfaith marriage is the cause of the breakdown of a family, where interfaith marriages also help keep family life in harmony. This difference in conclusions was driven by socio-political factors when the three ulama worked, especially in adjusting to the context of national political stability.

Abstract

Character education is essential, especially for the younger generation. Successful character education can be seen in students’ daily behavior, in how they apply vertical relation to God and horizontal regard to His creatures. To perform an effective character education, various methods and learning media can make students more excited at character values in the learning materials. The story method, mutalaah within the al-Qira’ah al-Rashidah Book 1 by Abdul Fatah Shabri Bik and Ali Amir Bik, includes some stories that contain noble morality. This study showed that character education through the story method has several stages, (1) the preparation of the syllabus and lesson plan, (2) the learning activity that covers opening, teaching-learning process, and closing. The process of planting moral values is carried out when a teacher explains the content and text of the lesson. Meanwhile, a formal evaluation is done in the semester test, besides daily assessment of student’s behavior in pesantren; (3) the story method through the learning mutalaah is considered effective in the development of morals because instinctively students like stories and are encouraged and motivated to practice the moral values in the mutalaah stories; (4) some factors supporting character education through the story method include the support of pesantren and principal, teacher’s linear educational background, and availability of decent infrastructure. On the contrary, the inhibiting factors include students’ diverse educational backgrounds, less motivation to study Arabic vocabulary, and lack of learning media that supports the delivery of learning materials.

Abstract

This study explores the use of magical symbols within the Tariqa community in West Java, which faces accusations of deviation and conflict with the Takfiri group. Understanding this issue is crucial for mediating conflicts and promoting religious moderation in Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on the Idrisiyyah-Tasikmalaya, Tijaniah-Garut, and Shadziliyyah tariqas. Data is analyzed using a semiotic model, examining magical symbols, their meanings, and practitioners' spiritual experiences. Data collection involves purposive sampling through interviews and field observations. Overall, the use of magical symbols is deemed legitimate within Islamic law and does not signify deviation or impurity.

Abstract

This research addresses the challenges faced by class X-2 students at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Jawami Cileunyi, Bandung, characterized by low proficiency in speaking Arabic. This issue stems from students' perception that Arabic is difficult and monotonous, compounded by the limited use of diverse teaching media during Arabic instruction. To overcome this, the researcher applied a cooperative learning model of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) type, incorporating Kokami media. The study aimed to evaluate students' Arabic speaking skills before and after implementing this model and to analyze the level of improvement achieved. In this study using a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design, the findings revealed that students' initial speaking skills were low. However, after employing the TGT model with Kokami media, their speaking skills improved significantly, reaching an average score of 76.85, categorized as good (70-79). The improvement rate of 0.05 or 50% indicates a moderate enhancement level. These results underscore the effectiveness of integrating cooperative learning with engaging media in improving speaking skills. The study implies that innovative teaching strategies can address motivational and skill-related barriers in language learning. Future research should explore the long-term effects of similar models, adapt them for other language skills, and investigate their application in diverse educational contexts to refine further and generalize these findings.

Abstract

Islamic education in the 2nd century Hijriyah played a crucial role in shaping the sustainable Islamic educational system that continues to this day. During this period, prominent Muslim scholars such as Abu Hanifah, Malik bin Anas, and Al-Shafi’i formulated educational concepts based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, which later developed in educational institutions such as halaqah and early madrasas. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic educational theories from the 2nd century Hijriyah in the development of contemporary education systems. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this research examines the educational principles applied in that era and their contributions to modern learning systems. The findings indicate that key principles, such as value-based education, interactive discussion methods, and the integration of religious and secular sciences, remain relevant to contemporary educational challenges. This article contributes by linking the history of Islamic educational thought with the demands of a more holistic and value-based modern education system.

Abstract

Tafsir As-Sa'dy di masyarakat menempati posisi sebagai rujukan penting bagi kalangan yang mengutamakan penerapan syariat secara ketat, tetapi juga menuai kritik karena potensinya memicu sikap eksklusif terhadap hukum non-syariat. Penafsirannya dalam QS.An-Nisa:60 tentang taghut sebagai hukum yang tidak bersumber dari syariat berpotensi memicu resistensi terhadap hukum positif di negara Muslim, yang dapat dieksploitasi oleh kelompok radikal untuk menolak pemerintahan dan menciptakan polarisasi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkritisi seluk beluk penafsiran Abdurrahman As-Sa'dy tentang taghut dalam QS An-Nisa:60 menggunakan pendekatan langkah-langkah kritik tafsir yaitu dimensi historisme, operasional metodologis, kecenderungan, motif, kecenderungan, data dan evaluasi tafsir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan dan jenis analisis isi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Abdurrahman As-Sa’dy membuat tafsir dengan motif mempermudah Masyarakat dalam mengkaji Al-Qur’an. Dalam memaknai taghut sebagai segala bentuk hukum atau aturan yang tidak bersumber dari syariat Allah menggunakan sumber penafsiran bi al-ra’yi, metode ijmaly dan corak teologis. Penafsiran As-Sa’dy dipengaruhi oleh konteks sejarah dan sosial saat hidupnya, terutama pada masa transisi Arab Saudi menjadi kerajaan di bawah Raja Abdul Aziz bin Saud. Konteks ini memberikan latar belakang sosial-politik yang turut membentuk pandangannya tentang perlunya kembali kepada syariat sebagai sumber hukum. Meskipun As-Sa’dy tidak selalu mencantumkan asbabun nuzul dalam tafsirnya, penekanannya pada penerapan syariat mencerminkan respons terhadap tantangan modernitas dan sekularisasi hukum di negara-negara Muslim. As-Sa’dy memiliki kecenderungan ideologis yang jelas sebagai seorang penganut manhaj Salafi. Hal ini tampak dalam pendekatannya terhadap penafsiran yang mengedepankan pemurnian ajaran Islam, fokus pada tauhid, dan penolakan terhadap inovasi agama (bid'ah). Meski menuai kritik penafsiran As-Sa’dy menghadapi tantangan dalam menjawab kompleksitas hukum dan kehidupan modern
