Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between salinity and the extent and type of mangrove vegetation in ponds within the Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan. Sampling was conducted in ponds with different salinity levels: 0–10 ppt, 11–20 ppt, and 21–30 ppt, with each salinity category represented by 10 pond plots. Data analysis was performed using linear regression. The results showed a strong relationship between salinity variation and pond area, with an r-value of 0.630. The extent of pond expansion is related to the original mangrove type present in the pond area. This information can be used as a basis for determining suitable aquatic species for cultivation based on salinity levels. In other words, the selection of aquatic species for cultivation can be adjusted according to the appropriate pond area. Further research is needed to determine whether other factors influence the relationship between salinity levels and pond area in the Mahakam Delta region.

Abstract

Crayfish (Spiny lobsters, Panulirus sp), including marine fishery commodities which have an important role as an  export  commodity  of the  kind of  crustaceans  (Crustacea)  after  shrimp  Penaeid. Efforts continue  to increase utilization will threaten the sustainability of the resource, if not attempted control measures. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of the catch rate of lobster resources in the District Kebumen and to analyze the financial aspects, the amount of capital, revenue, and profit from lobster fishing effort in waters Kebumen district. The method used is descriptive method, where sampling by using purposive sampling method with a sample of 64 units ship. The research concluded that the value average size of the catch per unit arrests during the period 2004 until 2009 is 1,037914609 kg / trip. Financial analysis of lobster fishing effort using nets lobster fishing gear (gillnet monofilament) got the R / C ratio of lobster fishing effort has a value of  R / C > 1 is 1,61, which means that lobster fishing effort it deserves. The calculation of earnings lobster fishing effort of 1,08, which means that lobster fishing effort carried out efficiently. Payback Period (PP) in lobster fishing effort in lobster fishing gear nets (gillnet monofilament) amounted to 0,92 years or 9 months, which means that fishermen can return all venture capital in less than1 year. Keywords : Spiny lobster (Panulirus sp), Catch Rate (Gillnet monofilament)

Abstract

The role of the river as a site for riverine activities has a huge impact on the economic sustainability of the community and the riverine ecosystem. The Silugonggo River is the only river in Pati Regency that is a very densely populated shipping route. This research was conducted along the Silugonggo River from the Juwana Bridge to the estuary. The purpose of this study was to determine ship activity in the Silugonggo River, determine the feasibility of facilities at Juwana Port and analyze environmental conditions along the Silugonggo River. The method used is a qualitative method with observation techniques and laboratory analysis, which is carried out by observing and recording conditions in the field systematically using primary data in the form of water conditions and secondary data in the form of ship activity and construction data. The results showed that the activities in the port of Juwana include mooring, loading and unloading of goods, ship repair and refuelling of ships. The level of water pollution in the Silugonggo River at 5 sampling points shows that the oil content in the water for points 1, 3, 4 and 5 is still considered safe because it is below the quality standard, but the oil content at point 2 has a very high value from the set quality standard which is 20 mg/L. The pollution that occurs is caused by shipping activities that dump waste into the water and fuel filling activities. Keywords:marine polutionportriverwater qualityoil spill

The research method uses descriptive-qualitative data collected from the results of questionnaires, interviews; Field observations are processed in the form described in the description in the tabulation. From the results of this study, the form of joint management in mangrove rehabilitation is at a consultative stage where the government starts to consider local views in the decision-making process, the level of participation of each stakeholder is in a low category, so this Study recommends that the form of participation of each stakeholder can be improved through the form of joint regulations, sustainability programs and systematic work distribution that is disseminated to every implementer of mangrove rehabilitation programs in Langkat District.
