Abstract

Agricultural development plays a crucial role in Indonesia's economic growth, particularly because the majority of its population relies on the agricultural sector. However, this sector faces several challenges, such as structural, institutional, and technological issues. To address these challenges, Palur Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency, is the focus of this study. Through descriptive analysis method, primary and secondary data were obtained through interviews, observations, and recordings. Palur Village's potential includes significant agricultural land and productive human resources, but it faces issues of resource allocation and a lack of interest in agriculture. Structural transformation indicates a shift from the agricultural sector to the industrial or service sectors, but with low incomes. Institutional transformation, on one hand, shows continuity in existing institutional functions without major changes, but the success and changes occurring in local financial institutions indicate the need for further transformation. Technology transfer, especially through the use of modern tools and technology in agriculture, has brought positive changes but still faces challenges in adopting innovations. Based on this analysis, the appropriate agricultural development model for Palur Village is The Diffusion Model, which emphasizes education and the dissemination of technology to enhance productivity and address the challenges faced by local farmers. With proper implementation, this model can serve as a foundation for improving welfare and economic growth in Palur Village and similar areas.

Abstract

Introduction: Meeting rice needs is largely determined by the level of domestic rice production. However, the various dynamics that occur provide encouragement to provide an overview of the conditions for meeting food needs, namely in the form of rice, based on trends in rice production and how independent variables correlate with rice production. The aim of this research is to determine the projected rice production for 2023-2032 and determine the strength of the relationship between the dependent variable (rice production) and the independent variables in the form of harvested area, price of harvested dry grain, price of urea fertilizer and price. Methods: namely a quantitative descriptive method with secondary time series data from 1993-2022. Data analysis techniques for forecasting studies are by using Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) analysis. Meanwhile, in the correlation analysis of rice production using the Pearson correlation. Results: Projections for rice commodity production in Indonesia from 2023 to 2032 using the MA1 model show a positive trend. Analysis of the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable, namely harvest area (X1), rice price (X2), urea fertilizer price (X3), and price of other food commodities, namely corn (X4) shows a significant positive relationship with rice production in Indonesia. Conclusion: Projections for rice commodity production in Indonesia from 2023 to 2032, which were analyzed using the MA 1 model, obtained data with a positive trend which states that based on past data, Indonesian rice production will continue to increase every year in line with domestic food needs.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the potential and problems in Dagen Village, structural and institutional transformation, technology transfer, as well as analysis of appropriate agricultural development models to be implemented in the village. Methods: Methodologically, this research consists of data collection and data analysis. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, recording and documentation. Meanwhile, the analysis was carried out using qualitative research methods. Results: The results of this research found several findings. First, the potential of Dagen Village lies in rice farming land, while the problem of Dagen Village is factory waste pollution due to industrial activities which can threaten the sustainability and productivity of the land. Second, the structural transformation that occurred was a gradual transition from agricultural activities to the non-agricultural sector, then from the industrial sector to the service sector. Third, institutional transformation occurs gradually, starting from habits, becoming culture, from the perspective of Poktan and Gapoktan it can be said to be empowered, described by the ownership of assets, mastery of science and technology, as well as freedom in making choices and decisions in agribusiness activities in rural areas. Fourth, technology transfer is channeled by various contributory parties. Fifth, the Agricultural Development model in Degan Village uses the Locational Mode model based on Von Thunen's theory that differences in transportation of each agricultural commodity from the place of production to the nearest market influence the type of land use in an area.

Abstract

Background: The effects of climate change in the atmosphere are starting to appear. This is clear, not only that it impacts the natural world, but also human cultures. In Indonesia, according to the IPCC estimates, these impacts are expected to increase over the coming decades. The temperature will increase, the amount of rainfall will decline and the rise in the sea level will impact a variety of coastal areas. Extreme weather conditions are also becoming more and more common, triggering problems such as flooding and droughts. Such developments present a significant challenge to human existence, economic growth, and the natural environment on which humans rely primarily for their prosperity. Moreover, these changes affect different levels and in different ways in every society. Methods: This research would have a general context for potential forecasts of the field of focus on climatic factors and climate change. The purpose of this study is to assess adolescents and local people on how local people appreciate and care about climate change in the city of Surakarta. The effort should also be made to examine for the area the factors that render society's essential realms susceptible to severe weather events. Results:  The goal of this is to explain at some level the causes that increase the susceptibility of the local community when subjected to different triggers, as the effectiveness of adaptation or mitigation approaches is subject to population dynamics along with other variables.

Abstract

Introduction: Desa Gedangan serves as the rural center in Cepogo District, Boyolali. Situated 14 km west of the downtown area of Boyolali Regency, it stands as a prominent vegetable-producing village in the region. The potential of Desa Gedangan lies in its rural tourism, encompassing attractions such as Candi Sari, Candi Lawang, Pasar Ngatpaingan, and agricultural activities. Challenges faced by Desa Gedangan include issues regarding the development of tourism infrastructure and pest control in the vegetable farming sector. Structural transformation in Desa Gedangan primarily focuses on the agricultural sector, which continues to evolve and is optimized to support the village's economy. Method: The fundamental methodology employed in this research is descriptive analytical with a qualitative approach, conducted through a case study in Desa Gedangan, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency. Data sources comprise both primary and secondary data. Result: Primary data is obtained from key informants, primarily through direct interviews with the village head. Secondary data consists of evidence, records, or historical reports archived as documentary data. Findings reveal that institutional transformation in Desa Gedangan is currently limited due to adherence to regulations at the district level. The existing institutional transformation is mainly observed within the Karang Taruna organization. Technological transformation in Desa Gedangan involves the construction of three biogas reactors consisting of three ponds, established through collaboration with the Agricultural Technology Development Institute. The agricultural development model in Desa Gedangan currently emphasizes diversification of agricultural products, as evidenced by the cultivation of tobacco for commercial purpose.
