Abstract

This study aims to clarify and show the results of the assessment from lesson plans constructed by students in micro teaching classes. It was a descriptive quantitative research. The study was carried out at Universitas Negeri Makassar in the area of English language education. The data was obtained from Universitas Negeri Makassar's fifth semester English Language Education students. In class D, the researcher took as a sample twenty-six lesson plans from fifth semester academic year 2021-2022. Document analysis was an instrument of the research. The student data that has been collected is being combined and analyzed. Five aspects of assessment lesson plans were used to determine students' scores. The researcher then assigned four categories of scores from the lesson plan to be classified; very good, good, fair, and poor. Based on the result of the students’ in constructing lesson plans from all aspects of assessment, that the students from fifth semester at English Language Education of Universitas Negeri Makassar were almost ranged in the "good category," with a range of (80-90) in constructing a lesson plan in micro teaching class. As a result, it is crucial that students increase their knowledge of how to create effective lesson plans especially from aspect assessment, learning material, and supporting document of lesson plan. As we know a successful instructional strategy controls the process of teaching in the classroom moreover, they will be teachers in the future.Keywords: Analysis, Students Lesson Plan, Micro Teaching.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' ability and difficulties in writing skills. In this study, the research instruments used are writing test and interviews, and used a mixed method. In this research, class 12 from SMAN 12 Sinjai was selected as the population, and class 12.3 was chosen as the research sample. The sampling in this study used a cluster random sampling technique to carry out a writing test, especially in procedure text, and a purposive sampling technique to carry out interviews. The writing test results were analyzed quantitatively using Microsoft Excel and the interview were analyzed qualitatively. The results of data analysis show that 58% of students were in the “very poor” category, 23% got a score categorized as “good” category, 12 % students in the “fair” category, and there is only 7% in the poor category. From the writing test, students can better master the organization and content components and the students experience difficulties ranging from vocabulary, grammar, mechanics, organization, and content. In conclusion, students’ writing ability is a “very poor” category, and they have difficulties in writing skills in components of writing.Keywords-Writing Ability, Students’ Difficulties in Writing.

Abstract

English has been a compulsory subject for all students in Indonesia for a long time. In an era of globalization in almost every field, English is increasingly used. There are many approaches that a teacher can give to their students so that English learning can be accomplished well and students can understand it. The study aims to determine the improvement of English learning results through the application of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) Approach to Class VIII.5 students in UPT SPF SMPN 18 Makassar using Classroom Action Research Method (PTK). The subjects of this study are students of VIII-5 consist of 27 students. The object of the study is the result of learning English. The objective of the study is to identify and analyse the effectiveness of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach to improving English learning outcomes. Data is collected using learning outcome tests and analysed. Study results show that student learning results increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2. So it can be concluded Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII.5 UPT SPF SMPN 18 Makassar school year 2023/2024 in two cycles.Keywords— Learning Outcome, English, Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT)
