Abstract

K-Means Cluster is a cluster analysis for continuous variables with the concept of distance used is a euclidean distance where that distance is used as observation variables which are uncorrelated with each other. The case with the type data that is correlated categorical can be solved either by Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis or by making categorical data into numerical data by the method called successive interval and then used Principal Component Analysis. By comparing the ratio of the variance within cluster and between cluster in poverty data of East Nusa Tenggara Province in K-Means cluster obtained that Principal Component Analysis with Successive interval has a smaller variance ratio than Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis. Variables that take effect to the clusterformation are toilet, fuel, and job. Keywords: K-Means Cluster Analysis, Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, Successive interval.

Abstract

Spatial heterogeneity becomes a separate issue on the analysis of spatial data. GWR (Geographically Weighted Regression) is a statistical technique to explore spatial nonstationarity by form the differrent regression models at different point in observation space. Multicollinearity is a condition that the independent variables in model have linear relationship. It would be a problem for estimation parameters process, because that condition produces unstable model. This problem may be found in GWR models, which allow the linear relationship between independent variables at each location called local multicollinearity. GWRR (Geographically Weighted Ridge Regression) and GWL (Geographically Weighted Lasso) which use the concept of ridge and lasso is shrink the regression coefficient in GWR model. GWRR and GWL techniques are consider to be capable of overcoming local multicollinearity to produce more stable models with lower variance. In this study, GWRR and GWL is used to model Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in Java using kernel exponential weighted function. The results showed that GWL has better performance to predict GRDP with lower RMSE and higher value than GWRR.Keyword : Spatial Heterogeneity, GWR, Local Multicollinearity, Ridge, Lasso

Abstract

The Objectives of this study were to anaylize the influence of family strength on pregnancy quality. The data were analyzed from the study of "Effect of multinutrient fortified food suplement on pregnancy outcomes", which had been done previously by the Departement of Community Nutrition and Family Resources of IPB. Some additional information on family strength was also collected retrospectively. Of the 615 pregnant mothers in Luwiliang district (19 villages) and Cibungbulang district (15 villages), 233 mothers met the sample criterias were selected Pregnancy quality was measured by pregnancy weight gain. Family strength data (q=0.7) consisted of informations on physical resources, non-physical resources. Family problems, capping mechanism, physical well-being, social well-being, and psychologycal well-being. Applying a multiple linear regression model, body weight at the beginning of pregnancy and family strength has a significant effect on pregnancy weight gain. The items of Family strength are health factor, family goal, free from anger, and social support. The above results implied that, increasing family strength should he the important factor in pregnancy quality.

Abstract

Based on the family theory of structural functionalism, family is the first and the main porosity of human resource development. Family is the basic unit of society. The objectives of this study were to develop a measurement of family strength with high reliability and validity and to formulate policy implications to increase the family strength. 233 families from Leuwiliang district (19 villages) and Cibungbulang district (15 villages) were analyzed. Family strength data consisted of informations on physical resources, non-physical resources, family problems, copping mechanism, physical well-being, social welll-being, and psychological well-being. Applying Alpha Cronbach analysis, the family strength measurement had internal consistency coeficient of reliability 0.7 and applying factor analysis and Lisrel (Linear Structural Relationship) shared that there were there major latent variables of family strength, viz physical, social, and psychological. Strengthening the family should be an entegrated part of social economic, and family funcitioning development.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of the Social Safety Net-Health Sector Program (JPS-BK) on growth of under-two year children (baduta). The study was carried out in Kebumen, Purworejo and Sukohatjo of Central Java, and Lombok Timur and Sumbawa of West Nusa Tenggara. This study was designed as cross sectional with Posttest-Only Nonequivalent Group Study Design, This was applied considering the data was collected in a moment just afier JPS-BK program has been starting with two nonequivalent groups (one was target group and another was non target group of JPS-BK). The sample was mothers who had breast-feeding status and had been pregnant between October 1998 and ended in 2000. Total sample was 622 mothers, consisted of 544 mothers of JPS-BK and 118 mothers of Non JPS-BK. Growth of baduta of JPS-BK was not dgiterent from baduta of Non JPS-BK. Nutritional status of baduta (W/A) had positive and significant correlation with birth weight, immunization, and complementary feeding (MP-AS1 JPS-BK). Nutritional status of baduta (H/A) had positive and significant correlation with birth weight, MP-AS1 JPS-BK. immunization and mother's educational level. Nutritional status of baduta (W/H) had positive and significant correlation with birth weight, MP-ASI JPS-BK, immunization, income per capita, and mother's educational level.

Abstract

Research on the customer value to an organization has been widely explored, yet most studies only determined on the financial value based on the customer’s purchasing behavior. The value of customers beyond their purchasing behavior –defined as the relational worth - has not been commonly captured yet. This non-financial value is one of the drivers in retaining customers, hence it becomes a crucial factor in preserving the profitability of the organization. For this reason, this paper aims to examine the customer non-financial valuations of a loyalty reward program. The scope of the study covered a reward program involving consumer exertions in the context of a Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) offered by an airline in Indonesia. The hypotheses are empirically tested with a sample of FFP members conducted through an online survey (n=475). The data were statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) as a first order construct. Results indicate that the perceived social rewards lead to an affective and normative commitment as well as consumers’ satisfaction, while the economic reward did not have an effect on developing affective bonds with members for long-term relationships. The relational benefit offered through the FFP creates affectively and normatively committed members who produce relational behaviors, in terms of WOM, immunity, openness and acquiescence of the members to the airline. Furthermore, the FFP members produced social behaviors toward the airline when they felt satisfied with their relational exchanges.
