Abstract

This study aims to reveal Fatima’s mimicry as the prominent figure in Aliya Husain’s Neither This Nor That. The presence of minorities often brings the assumption that they are foreign people, so they are treated discriminatively. Immigrants who live a new life in a country whose ideology, beliefs, and lifestyle of the original population are opposite to those of their home country will experience identity problems. Muslim women or Muslimah who are diaspora from India to America also share the same thing. They have to negotiate their identity, so they can live comfortably. The form of negotiation can be done by mimicry. This research is qualitative descriptive research. This research examines mimicry narratives from a diaspora novel, Neither This Nor That (2010). In addition, other sources such as books, journals, and the web are supporting sources. This paper uses Homi Bhabha's postcolonialism theory, especially mimicry, ambivalence, and hybrid. Ting Tomey's Identity Negotiation Theory is also used to strengthen the analysis. This study reveals that the characters imitate the majority's behavior subconsciously to maintain and save their identity. In doing so, they wait for the right time and momentum to negotiate their identity so that, in the end, a hybrid identity will emerge that accommodates the old and new identities.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the vocational training program at the Semarang Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BBPVP) using 2 evaluation models, namely CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) and CSE-UCLA (Planning, Development, Implementation, Improvement, Certification). The background of this research departs from the phenomenon of competency gap due to digital disruption, automation, and green transition that requires the vocational world to be more adaptive to the needs of the global industry. In Islamic education management, this evaluation is understood as a form of effort to improve the quality of human resources in accordance with the principle of self-change as stated in QS. Ar-Ra'd: 11. This study uses an evaluative qualitative approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which includes three main stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results of the study show that the training program is effective in improving the technical skills and soft skills of participants, especially in the fields of office administration, Administrative Assistant, Digital Marketing. However, several obstacles were found such as the limitations of print teaching modules, the variety of instructors, and the need to improve vocational terms or business terms. Overall, both the CIPP and CSE-UCLA models have been shown to provide a holistic picture of the effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability of the program. This study concludes that BBPVP Semarang has successfully carried out vocational training that is relevant to the needs of the industry, but needs to be improved in terms of curriculum, facilities, and digitalization. The researcher recommends that institutions continue to update the curriculum based on industry needs, expand cooperation with the industrial world, and implement a practice-based learning approach and soft skills to strengthen the competitiveness of the vocational workforce in the era of digital transformation. The subjects of the study were homeroom teachers and students who were selected based on their active involvement in implementing the 5S culture in the madrasa environment. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity strengthened through source and technique triangulation, member checks, and audit trails. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic educational values that can be integrated into the 5S habituation at MI Al-Khoiriyyah 2 Semarang includes: rahmah (compassion), silaturrahmi, respect, strengthening ukhuwah (brotherhood), tawadhu’ (obedience), and social concern. Abstract

This study develops a conceptual framework that integrates value co-creation and relational sustainability to explain and support the continuity of Qur’anic reading intensity among children in the digital era. The rapid advancement of digital technology has expanded access to Qur’anic learning through various interactive platforms; however, increased accessibility does not automatically guarantee the quality or istiqamah of children’s reading practices, as digital environments frequently introduce distractions and fragment sustained attention. Using a qualitative approach with a library research design, this study systematically analyzed recent literature from Scopus, Google Scholar, and Garuda databases through thematic content analysis and conceptual mapping. The findings propose that Qur’anic learning should be understood as a relational value ecosystem in which teachers, parents, institutions, and children collaboratively integrate cognitive, affective, and normative-spiritual resources through ongoing interaction. Value co-creation functions as the generative core of this ecosystem, while relational sustainability, encompassing trust (amanah), communicative transparency, and digital engagement, serves as the central mediating mechanism linking collaborative value construction to the stability of children’s reading engagement. Sustainability of engagement emerges as the bridging construct through which relational processes are internalized as self-regulated spiritual practice, ultimately manifesting as stable Qur’anic reading intensity. This study contributes an interdisciplinary framework that repositions Qur’anic education from a purely pedagogical activity to a collaboratively sustained spiritual practice, offering practical implications for institutions, teachers, parents, and educational technology developers committed to nurturing children’s istiqamah in Qur’anic recitation.
