Abstract

Tuberculosis remains a serious public health issue in Indonesia. Low public awareness, delayed diagnosis, and poor treatment adherence have worsened the spread of the disease. This community service activity aimed to enhance public understanding of TB prevention through a digital educational video based on the ACTIV-5 strategy, and to evaluate its effectiveness in improving knowledge scores before and after the intervention. The program was conducted from June 30 to July 2, 2025, using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design. A total of 172 respondents were purposively selected from a population of 302 individuals. Education was delivered by screening short videos based on the ACTIV-5 strategy in the waiting area of the health center. Respondents’ knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. During the educational period, a total of 320 patient visits were recorded. Data were analyzed using basic quantitative methods. Pretest results showed that most respondents lacked understanding of TB symptoms and transmission mechanisms. After the intervention, there was a significant increase in knowledge scores, particularly in recognizing early symptoms and the importance of completing treatment. The average score improved by more than 40% from the baseline. In conclusion, the ACTIV-5-based educational video proved to be effective and holds potential as a sustainable educational strategy in primary healthcare services. It is recommended that the program be replicated in other public health centers to expand its promotive and preventive impact on TB control.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases in the working area of Karang Taliwang Public Health Center, Mataram City. The main challenges in hypertension management include patients’ low adherence to control schedules and limited health literacy. This community service activity aims to improve patient adherence and understanding through the implementation of a digital application called “SITENSI” (Blood Pressure and Hypertension Education Information System). The activity was conducted from June to July 2025 through initial observation, dissemination, digital education, cadre training, and application trials in local health posts and the primary health center. A total of 20 hypertensive patients participated in the pre- and post-tests. The results indicated a significant increase in knowledge scores from 4.8 (pre-test) to 15.4 (post-test), showing a 10.6-point improvement. Additionally, cadres and health workers responded positively to the application’s user-friendliness and educational features. The implementation of SITENSI proves effective in supporting technology-based primary health care transformation and strengthening the role of nurses and community health workers in hypertension management.

Abstract

Basic immunization coverage in Indonesia remains suboptimal, partly due to limited maternal health literacy and inadequate access to reliable health information. This community engagement program aimed to enhance maternal knowledge and improve immunization coverage through the implementation of the SI-IMUN (Maternal and Child Immunization Information System) application. The program adopted a participatory approach by involving mothers and integrated health post cadres through technical training, interactive education using the application, and ongoing assistance for immunization monitoring. Program evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-intervention assessments to measure changes in knowledge and user satisfaction. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in maternal knowledge, with an average increase of 76%. Additionally, 68% of users reported that the application was user-friendly, while 97% of cadres and healthcare workers indicated that SI-IMUN effectively supported health education and facilitated field-based immunization monitoring. In conclusion, the SI-IMUN application represents an effective digital innovation for strengthening community-based health promotion and has strong potential for scalability and replication in other primary healthcare settings.
