Abstract

This study analyzes how pesantren nurture graduate quality through character-based and life skill-oriented management practices. The research addresses a key gap in previous studies, which have examined educational management, character education, and life skills separately, leaving a limited understanding of how these domains interact as an integrated system shaping graduate outcomes. Using a qualitative multisite design, data were collected from two large pesantren through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the Miles-Huberman interactive model to identify cross-site patterns. The findings show three major results. First, both pesantrens apply participatory planning that aligns spiritual values, character formation, and vocational learning, although with different managerial styles. Second, implementation integrates formal, nonformal, and informal education with experiential learning, enabling students to develop religious character, independence, and practical competencies. Third, supervision combines structural monitoring and moral guidance, ensuring consistent behavioral development and skill mastery. These findings contribute to an integrated Value Skill Synergy Framework that explains how management processes reinforce character and life skills as mutually supporting components of graduate quality. The study concludes that pesantren graduate excellence emerges from the coherent alignment of values, management functions, and daily educational practices. It recommends strengthening integrative planning, experiential learning, and documented supervision to enhance the sustainability and replicability of pesantren quality management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of compliance mediation in influence of human resource (HR) quality and supervision on accountability of waqf institutions registered with the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI). This study provides insight into how these factors interact to improve institutional accountability, which is an important element in maintaining public trust in waqf management. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Data were collected through a survey of 164 respondents consisting of stakeholders and practitioners at the Waqf Nadzir Institution. This model evaluates the direct and mediation relationships between variables. The results of the study indicate that the quality of human resources does not have a significant direct effect on the accountability of waqf institutions or on compliance. In contrast, supervision has a positive and significant effect on compliance and accountability. Compliance is proven to only mediate the relationship between supervision and accountability, but cannot mediate the relationship between the quality of human resources and accountability. This finding emphasizes the importance of effective supervision in improving institutional compliance and accountability. The quality of human resources in waqf institutions needs to be considered to improve the accountability of waqf institutions. The novelty of this study is to develop a theory of legitimacy in terms of the need for supervision in improving the accountability of waqf institutions mediated by waqf institution compliance.

Abstract

Abstract

Ideally, women’s empowerment is expected to enhance family economic welfare while simultaneously strengthening children’s education, asset management, and social responsibility in accordance with the principles of Maqashid Sharia. However, empirical realities indicate limitations in economic literacy, access to capital, and adequate social support, which hinder the optimal contribution of women to the family economy. This study aims to analyze the role of women’s empowerment in improving family economic conditions from the perspective of Maqashid Sharia and to examine its implications for the social and moral well-being of families. The research employs a qualitative field approach using a case study of the Al-Hikmah Women’s Cooperative in Drajat Village, Baureno District, Bojonegoro Regency. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with cooperative members, participatory observation, and documentation of economic activities, while secondary data were obtained from fiqh literature, scholarly journals, and documents related to Maqashid Sharia. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, supported by source and technique triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results indicate that women’s empowerment through cooperatives contributes to increased family income, strengthened asset management, support for children’s education, and the reinforcement of families’ social and moral values. The integration of Maqashid Sharia principles ensures that women’s economic empowerment generates not only material benefits but also spiritual and social impacts on community welfare.

Abstract

Abstract

Waqf is one of the instruments of the Islamic economy that aims to achieve the objectives of the Islamic economy, namely producing a rich life. The concept of Waqf is still considered to be the practice of the rich, because the payment is identical to that of land and buildings. Currently, in Indonesia, there is a new method of paying off the waqf that is available, this is cash-based and is derived from Law number 41 of 2004 regarding the management of cash-based funds associated with the waqf. This investigation describes the procedure of implementing cash waqf in the Al-Yasini Kopontren Ziswaf Agency as an Amil Zakat Organization that has employed cash waqf. This research employs a qualitative methodology with data analysis methods that involve interaction. From the research results, it is apparent that the utilization of cash funds at the Al-Yasini Kopontren Ziswaf Board is invested in the form of shares in the retail business "Al Yasini Mart". The income from the dividend is dedicated to funding scholarships for impoverished, unfortunate, and unlucky Al-Yasini Islamic Boarding School students, students who are exceptional in school, and hafidz students who memorize the Quran.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product placement and brand awareness on purchase intention, with brand image as a moderating variable among Korean drama viewers in Malang City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative research type. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 140 respondents who have watched Korean dramas and seen Kopiko products in Korean dramas. Data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale, while data analysis used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS. The results show that product placement and brand awareness have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. In addition, brand image is able to moderate the relationship between product placement and purchase intention, but is unable to moderate the relationship between brand awareness and purchase intention. The results of this study indicate that Kopiko product placement in Korean dramas and high brand awareness can increase consumer purchasing interest. This study is expected to be a reference for companies in developing marketing strategies through entertainment media and building a positive brand image to increase consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality and discount promotions, as well as the moderating role of self-control on halal consumers’ purchasing decisions within the e-commerce ecosystem. The widespread implementation of aggressive digital marketing strategies frequently triggers impulsive consumption behavior, thereby necessitating a deeper examination of how the internal characteristics of Muslim consumers are capable of mitigating such external stimuli. A quantitative approach was employed in this research involving 250 Muslim respondents who were active users of seven leading halal cosmetic brands. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that halal product quality and discount promotions exert positive and significant direct effects on purchasing decisions. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that self-control significantly functions as a negative moderator, weakening the influence of discount promotions on purchasing decisions. These results indicate that the stronger the self-control possessed by Muslim consumers, the lower their sensitivity toward the temptation of price discounts, thereby ensuring that purchasing activities remain within the boundaries of actual needs (al-hajat). The implications of this study emphasize the importance for halal cosmetic industry practitioners to shift from price-based marketing strategies toward value-based marketing approaches that prioritize product quality integrity and ethical consumption values.
