Abstract

In today's digital era, education faces challenges and opportunities to integrate technology in the learning process to provide a deeper and more meaningful experience for students. With this background, this study was conducted to investigate the level of nationalism of elementary school students and evaluate the potential and need for learning models based on Virtual Reality (VR). This research involved the participation of 203 students and 12 teachers from grades 4 to 6 in 10 elementary schools located in West Jakarta. Through a specially designed questionnaire, data is collected and then analyzed using quantitative methods. The results of the analysis show that only 48.7% of students show strong characteristics of nationalism, while the other 51.3% appear to lack these characteristics. Apart from that, from the educator side, as many as 84.7% of teachers expressed support and an urgent need for the adoption of VR-based learning models. Based on these findings, this research recommends the development and implementation of a VR-based learning model which aims to increase understanding and appreciation of nationalist values among students. It is hoped that through the integration of educational content with VR technology, students can experience a more immersive, interesting, and effective learning experience in building a sense of nationalism.

Abstract

The value of multicultural education is acknowledged on a global scale, despite the fact that various barriers prevent its complete implementation. These include cultural, linguistic, religious, economic, difference in physical condition, and ethnic backgrounds. By assessing publishing trends, extracting data on author keyword trends, examining conceptual evolution, and establishing possible future research on this topic using the Scopus database. This study found that publications grew in quantity from 2013 to 2022, decreased in 2015 and 2018 but were not significant, and 2021 was the highest peak with 221 documents. With 111 publications, the United States is the most prolific and co-authored with authors from Canada, China, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and South Korea. Based on thematic evolution, ‘subspace-clustering’, ‘conversational-system’, ‘aortic-aneurysm’, ‘Bayesian-network-classifier’, are themes or topics that have recently developed. By utilizing these important terms, the study of multicultural education can be examined more thoroughly and more extensive in the future in order to learn new knowledge. In conclusion, this research has the potential to contextualize previous research on the topic and create an evidence-based practice paradigm for future studies grounded in science.

Abstract

Affective assessment in looking at elementary school students' critical reasoning abilities is considered to need to be analyzed as a complex process of changing students' attitudes in implementing the Pancasila student profile. Analysis involves receiving and mastering data, data analysis, and data evaluation, which must be taught to students because these skills are very necessary in life. The aim of the research was to analyze the affective assessment of elementary school students' critical reasoning abilities in terms of gender. The research method used is quantitative research. The research subjects were 32 students in Class 5 of Keraton 1 State Elementary School for the 2024/2025 academic year, divided into 12 male students and 20 female students. Data analysis used the independent t test. The results of the research show that there is no significant difference in the form of affective assessment of critical reasoning ability, in terms of the gender of class V students. The results of the independent t test obtained a significance value of 0.204 > 0.05, meaning that the average critical reasoning ability of women (3.205) is higher. higher than men (3.085) with a difference of 1.120 which is considered not significant. The results of critical reasoning indicators (seeking information, assessing information, making conclusions, and making decisions) show that there are no significant differences based on student gender. The implication of the research is that teachers are able to improve critical reasoning skills, researchers can then analyze other factors or develop other research objects.
