Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top 20 causes of death worldwide. In Indonesia, TB cases increased in 2022 and 2023 compared to 2021. Pacitan Regency, which ranks eighth lowest in TB case detection achievement in East Java, also experienced an increase in the number of cases in 2023. This increase can be addressed through the implementation of minimum health services for individuals suspected of having TB at all Community Health Centers, with a target achievement of 100%. However, not all Community Health Centers have provided optimal services. This includes Pringkuku Community Health Center in Pacitan Regency, which recorded a minimum service coverage of less than 50%. This study aims to analyze management implementation of the minimum service standards for suspected TB cases at Pringkuku Community Health Center, covering input and process aspects in 2023 and 2024, the output in 2024, along with the challenges encountered. The methods used included observation, in-depth interviews, and document review, utilizing interview guides and observation. The study was a qualitative research with a case study design, involving 8 key informants and 3 supporting informants. The data analysis produced ten main themes, indicating that health services in 2024 have not yet reached the 100% target. Major input-related barriers included the absence of a midwife in one village. In the process aspect, issues such as dual roles of program officers and negative community stigma were found. Therefore, support personnel and enhanced public education are needed to help achieve the 100% target. Keywords: community health center, management, minimum service standards, tuberculosis

Abstract

Minimum Service Standards (MSS) for health emphasize the importance of the type and quality of basic services to achieve optimal and equitable health services, especially in the health sector of non-communicable diseases, which continue to increase in prevalence. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially hypertension, are health problems which cases continue to increase. The prevalence of hypertension in 2018 was 34.11%, decreasing to 30.8% in 2023, but this figure has not met the national target. East Java ranks fourth with the highest prevalence of hypertension at 34.30%. The third lowest hypertension service achievement is Malang Regency. Puskesmas X had a low hypertension treatment rate of 12.71% in 2023. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of MSS in hypertension health services at Puskesmas X and identify inhibiting factors based on input, process, and output variables. This study used a qualitative method with in-depth interviews involving 11 informants with an interview guide instrument and researchers conducted observations with an observation sheet instrument to record field data. This study used source triangulation and method triangulation. The results showed that hypertension MSS implementation at Puskesmas X faced several challenges, particularly limited human resources, suboptimal training, lack of educational media, weak cross-sector coordination, and ineffective data recording and reporting. Although MSS achievement increased from 3.7% (2021) to 31.3% (2024), it is still far from the national target of 100%. Overall, improvements in MSS implementation in hypertension health services at Puskesmas X have not fully met the set targets.

Abstract

Background: Overweight in toddlers may further develop into obesity. The Sudimara Pinang Community Health Center area has the highest number of overweight toddlers in Tangerang City. This study aims to examine the relationship between dietary patterns, physical activity, screen time, and the incidence of overweight among toddlers aged 24-59 months in Sudimara Pinang area. Method : This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. A total of 93 toddlers were purposively selected from the five integrated health posts with the highest number of overweight toddlers. Nutritional status was assessed using anthropometric measurements. Dietary patterns were measured with a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), Physical activity with the Early Year Physical Activity Questionnaire (EY-PAQ), and screen time with the Seven in Seven Screen Exposure Questionnaire. Result: The findings revealed a significant association between dietary pattern (p-value = 0.016), and between physical activity and overweight incidence (p-value = 0.000). However, no significant relationship was found between screen time and overweight (p-value = 0.523). Conclusion: Dietary patterns and physical activity were significantly associated with overweight among toddlers, whereas screen time showed no significant relationship. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive intervention programs in the area, focusing on promoting healthy eating and physical activity.

Abstract

Ada kekhawatiran kesehatan baru akibat populasi lanjut usia di Indonesia, terutama terkait dengan penyakit degeneratif seperti asam urat. Karena kurangnya aktivitas fisik dan pola makan tinggi purin, lansia berisiko lebih tinggi terkena penyakit metabolik. Mengedukasi lansia, mengintervensi pola makan mereka, dan mendorong mereka untuk berolahraga merupakan bagian dari Program Promosi Kesehatan Terpadu untuk Pencegahan Asam Urat yang menjadi fokus pengabdian  layanan masyarakat ini. Program pengabdian ini menggunakaan metodologi kuantitatif berdasarkan desain eksperimental pre-test dan post-test. Bertempat di Posyandu Dewi Sartika, Desa Sumbersari, Kota Malang, sebanyak 50 lansia dipilih secara acak untuk mengikuti kegiatan. Data yang dikumpulkan dari survei pretest dan posttest dianalisis menggunakan Paired Samples T-Test dalam SPSS. Dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. < 0.001), hasil menunjukkan bahwa program tersebut secara efektif meningkatkan kesadaran lansia akan pentingnya diet rendah purin, aktivitas fisik teratur, dan pemeriksaan kesehatan rutin, karena skor pengetahuan rata-rata meningkat dari 77 menjadi 87 setelah kegiatan. Pada akhirnya, pencegahan kolesterol dan pemeliharaan kesehatan lansia dapat dicapai secara efektif melalui promosi kesehatan komprehensif.

Abstract

Hasil Survei Status Gizi Indonesia (SSGI) tahun 2024 melaporkan terkait angka stunting di Kota Batu berada pada angka 21,2%. Prevalensi ini mengindikasikan bahwa hingga kini stunting menjadi permasalahan serius karena belum berhasil memenuhi target RPJMN 2020–2024, yaitu sebesar 14%. Desa Giripurno menjadi daerah yang mencatat persentase stunting paling tinggi di Kota Batu, sehingga penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keragaman pangan serta Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) dengan kejadian stunting pada balita. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode penelitian hubungan analitik melalui desain studi cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menerapkan teknik sampling non-probabilitas dengan pendekatan purposive sampling. Sebanyak 126 responden diikutsertakan sebagai sampel, dengan instrumen berupa kuesioner terstruktur. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji deskriptif untuk merepresentasikan hasil univariat, uji chi-square untuk menilai hubungan pada analisis bivariat, serta regresi logistik yang diterapkan pada analisis multivariat. Hasil penelitian merepresentasikan adanya hubungan antara keragaman pangan (p = 0,002) serta Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (p = 0,001) dengan kejadian stunting pada anak usia 24–59 bulan. Di antara kedua variabel tersebut, keragaman pangan balita menunjukkan hubungan yang paling signifikan dengan kejadian stunting. Kata Kunci : stunting, keragaman pangan, perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, balita

Abstract

Background: Fruit and vegetable consumption is an important factor in a balanced nutritional pattern that supports adolescent health. However, consumption and preference for fruit and vegetables in Indonesia, especially among adolescents, are still low and do not meet the WHO recommendation of 400 grams per day. This study was conducted to determine fruit and vegetable preferences and consumption patterns among adolescents in East Java. Purpose: To determine fruit and vegetable preferences and consumption patterns among adolescents. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design with a sample of 132 high school students in four regencies/cities in East Java, selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires and food frequency questionnaires (FFQs). Data were analyzed descriptively using univariate analysis. Results: Adolescents preferred spinach the most (mean = 3.50 ± 0.59) and bitter melon the least (mean = 1.67 ± 0.78). The top favorite vegetables were spinach, carrots, broccoli, kale, and cucumber, with regional variations: carrots in Batu City and Malang Regency, and spinach in Pasuruan Regency and Malang City. Among fruits, mango ranked highest (mean = 3.82 ± 0.52) and passion fruit lowest (mean = 2.91 ± 0.89). Mango was the favorite fruit in three regions, followed by apples in Pasuruan Regency, while langsat and passion fruit were consistently less popular across all regions. Conclusion: The most popular vegetable among adolescents was spinach, while the least popular was bitter melon. The most popular fruit among adolescents was mango, while the least popular was passion fruit. Education regarding vegetables and fruits, as well as innovations in various processed products, are needed to increase preferences and diversity in fruit and vegetable consumption.   Keywords: Adolescents; Consumption Patterns; Fruit; Preferences; Vegetables.   Pendahuluan: Konsumsi sayur dan buah merupakan faktor penting dalam pola gizi seimbang yang mendukung kesehatan remaja. Namun, konsumsi dan preferensi terhadap sayur dan buah di Indonesia, khususnya di kalangan remaja, masih rendah dan belum memenuhi rekomendasi WHO sebesar 400 gram per hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui preferensi dan pola konsumsi sayur dan buah pada remaja di Jawa Timur. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui preferensi dan pola konsumsi sayur dan buah pada remaja. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi cross-sectional dengan sampel 132 siswa SMA di 4 Kabupaten/Kota Jawa Timur yang diambil secara pusposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan formulir food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). Data dianalisis secara deskripti menggunakan analisis univariat. Hasil: Remaja paling menyukai bayam (mean = 3.50 ± 0.59) dan paling tidak menyukai pare (mean = 1.67 ± 0.78). Sayuran favorit utama adalah bayam, wortel, brokoli, kangkung, dan timun, dengan variasi wilayah: wortel di Kota Batu dan Kabupaten Malang, serta bayam di Kabupaten Pasuruan dan Kota Malang. Pada buah, mangga menempati peringkat tertinggi (mean=3.82 ± 0.52) dan markisa terendah (mean=2.91 ± 0.89). Mangga menjadi buah favorit di tiga wilayah, sedangkan apel di Kabupaten Pasuruan, sementara duku dan markisa konsisten kurang disukai di seluruh wilayah. Simpulan: Sayuran yang paling disukai remaja adalah bayam dan tidak disukai adalah pare. Buah-buahan yang paling disukai remaja adalah mangga dan tidak disukai adalah markisa. Diperlukan edukasi terkait sayur dan buah serta inovasi berbagai olahan sayur dan buah untuk meningkatkan preferensi dan keberagaman konsumsi sayur dan buah.   Kata Kunci: Buah; Pola Konsumsi; Preferensi; Remaja; Sayur.

Abstract

Background: Microplastics, plastic particles measuring less than 5 mm, are increasingly found in various types of food, particularly seafood, salt, drinking water, and processed products. The presence of microplastics in the food chain raises serious concerns for human health. Preliminary evidence suggests that exposure to microplastics through food poses a risk to human health. Purpose: To analyze knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding the dangers of foods containing microplastics. Method: This quantitative study used a survey approach among 126 children in grades 1-6 of SD 02 Mojorejo. A Google Forms questionnaire was used to assess children's knowledge, attitudes, and eating behavior regarding the dangers of foods containing microplastics. Data processing and analysis were performed using STATA. Results: There was no significant relationship between children's knowledge, attitudes, and eating behavior regarding the dangers of foods containing microplastics, with p-values ​​of 0.252 and 0.109 (>0.05). Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between children's knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding the dangers of foods containing microplastics.   Keywords: Attitudes; Behavioral Hazards; Food; Knowledge; Microplastics.   Pendahuluan: Mikroplastik merupakan partikel plastik berukuran kurang dari 5 mm, semakin banyak ditemukan dalam berbagai jenis makanan, terutama makanan laut, garam, air minum, dan produk olahan. Keberadaan mikroplastik dalam rantai makanan menimbulkan kekhawatiran serius terhadap kesehatan manusia. Bukti awal menunjukkan bahwa paparan kronis terhadap mikroplastik melalui makanan berisiko terhadap kesehatan manusia. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku bahaya makanan yang mengadung mikroplastik. Metode: Penelitian kauntitatif menggunakan pendekatan survei pada anak kelas 1- 6 SD 02 Mojorejo sejumlah 126 anak menggunakan aplikasi google formulir form kusioner yang meliputi kusioner pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku makan anak tentang bahaya makanan yang mengandung mikroplastik. Pengolahan dan analisis data penelitian menggunakan aplikasi STATA. Hasil: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahun, dengan sikap dan perilaku makan anak tentang bahaya makanan mengandung mikroplastik pada anak dengan koefesien p-value 0.252 dan 0.109 (> 0.05). Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan sikap dan perilaku anak tentang bahaya makanan yang mengandung mikroplastik.   Kata Kunci: Makanan; Mikroplastik; Pengetahuan; Perilaku Bahaya; Sikap.

Abstract

Gangguan pencernaan seperti penyakit asam lambung kronis (GERD) menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan yang biasa terjadi pada remaja dan sering disebabkan oleh pola makan yang kurang teratur serta stres yang dipicu dari tekanan akademik. Program “TEMU SAJA (Teman Temu Sehat Sejiwa Remaja)” dilaksanakan sebagai upaya promotif serta preventif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, serta perilaku hidup sehat pada siswa di SMPIT As-Salam Malang. Program ini menggabungkan tiga metode utama, yaitu workshop edukatif tentang kesehatan pencernaan, kelas memasak sehat, dan peer support group sebagai wadah berbagi pengalaman serta motivasi antar remaja sebaya. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diikuti oleh 28 siswa dan menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan siswa. Hasil mengindikasikan terdapat peningkatan kuantitas rata-rata skor pengetahuan sebesar 22,95% setelah pelaksanaan program. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan edukatif partisipatif yang menggabungkan praktik langsung, penguatan keterampilan, dan dukungan sebaya efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan perilaku makan sehat pada remaja. Hal ini selaras dengan temuan Wijaya et al. (2020) dan Monika et al. (2021) yang menyatakan bahwa pola makan tidak teratur dan konsumsi makanan kurang bergizi meningkatkan risiko gangguan pencernaan pada remaja, serta Dyna et al. (2018) yang menekankan pentingnya asupan gizi seimbang bagi kesehatan siswa. Program TEMU SAJA berpotensi untuk direplikasi dan dikembangkan pada tingkat pendidikan lain sebagai model edukasi kesehatan remaja yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Background: Infant weight gain is a key indicator for monitoring growth and is influenced by various factors, including maternal nutritional status and breastfeeding practices. Based on the data, it is still found that the low percentage of infants with weight gain and exclusive breastfeeding coverage has not reached the target. This study aims to investigate the relationship between maternal nutritional status and breastfeeding status, with the weight gain of infants aged 1-6 months in the Situbondo Health Center area. Method: This study uses a cross-sectional analytical design involving a sample of 70 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 1-6 months, selected from 18 posyandu. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Result: The findings showed that 55.7% of infants received exclusive breastfeeding, and 62.9% achieved weight gain in accordance with the Weight-for-Age Growth Curve. There is a significant relationship between breastfeeding status (p = 0.013), maternal nutritional status based on BMI (p = 0.018), and maternal nutritional status based on MUAC (p = 0.001) with infant weight gain. Conclusion: Maternal nutritional status (BMI and MUAC) and exclusive breastfeeding play a key role in supporting optimal weight gain in infants aged 1–6 months.

Abstract

High quality anthropometric measurements are important for nutritional assessment in children. In Indonesia, anthropometric measurement of children performed by caders in child center called posyandu as a child growth monitoring. However error measurements are found, especially on length or height measurement of children affecting presision and accuracy of data. This will lead to misinterpretation of child nutrition status. Education and training for cadres using media are important to improve their knowledge and skill related to anthropometric measurements. This study aimed to assess the effect of anthropometry measurement training using videos on Cadre’s knowledge. This study used one group pre-post test design with twenty cadres from Jekek and Mabung Village, Nganjuk City were recruited to this study. Intervention given to cadres was training using video anthropometry measurement. Knowledge score are measured before and after intervention. Statistical test was performed using paired t-test. The result of the study showed that there were significant different (p less than 0.05) of cadres’s knowledge score before (74.25 more or less than 7.48) and after training (78.75 more or less than 7.75). Anthropometric measurement training using video has effective in improving cadres knowledge of anthropometric measurement. Further study also needs to investigate skill improvement of anthropometric measurement for cadres.
