Abstract

Hospitals as health service institutions that carry out individual health services in a plenary manner, apart from having a positive impact, they also have a negative impact on the environment and public health by producing medical waste. As a health service provider, hospital managers are obliged to prevent environmental pollution and maintain public health. This can be achieved by carrying out proper and correct medical waste management in accordance with applicable regulations. X Mandau Hospital has implemented medical waste management even though it is not optimal and still has many shortcomings. This study aims to analyze medical waste management at X Mandau Hospital using a regulatory approach and the factors that are considered to influence medical waste management. This type of research is observational research by describing the medical waste management system from the input and process aspects to find out the problems that exist in medical waste management at X Mandau Hospital and to develop a medical waste management strategy based on factors that affect both internal and external use. SWOT analysis. The types of data used are primary data, secondary data and literature studies.     The results of research at X Mandau Hospital show that the stages in medical waste management are still not in accordance with applicable regulations. In the reduction and sorting stage, the storage stage and the processing stage, serious violations were found. With an average medical waste generation of 88.98 kg / day and with the inoperable condition of medical waste treatment equipment, Hospital X is considered to be facing serious medical waste management problems. The main problem found in the input aspect is the absence of good planning in the budgeting process for system development, operation and maintenance, this then has an impact on handling the generation of medical waste. In the process aspect, operational techniques that have not met the applicable regulations have resulted in conflicts with the community which have resulted in the rejection of incinerator operations. On the other hand, the incinerator operation itself has not yet obtained a processing permit from the authorized agency. To deal with this problem, the management strategy that can be taken is to carry out efforts to develop and improve medical waste treatment facilities utilizing government support, availability of human resources, budget, facilities and infrastructure as well as the availability of technology to then take advantage of opportunities for collaboration with other parties in medical waste treatment.

Abstract

The global target that must be achieved regarding universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 6, namely that universal access to safe drinking water fulfills the 4K. Namely quantity, quality, continuity, and affordability, and all households have access to adequate sanitation. According to the SDGs, safe drinking water is drinking water that is fit for consumption and free from fecal contamination and certain chemicals. Water quality at the point of consumption is strongly influenced by drinking water management factors at the household level, such as processing, storage and storage factors for raw water or drinking water sources. This research was conducted in October 2022, the sample in this study was the community as many as 98 respondent. In terms of quantity, the basic needs for water (food and drink) have been fulfilled, in terms of the quality of drinking water they have not been met, in terms of continuity they have been fulfilled, and in terms of affordability it is affordable in terms of distance, but not yet affordable in terms of price. The lack of quality and affordability can be met by adding free drinking water facilities and using rainwater.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible global public health problem that causes functional/structural abnormalities of the kidneys for 3 months. Hemodialysis is a kidney replacement therapy that can cause physical and psychological stress that will affect the quality of life. Aims to determine the relationship between HLC and self-management in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. This study uses a correlational description design with a cross-sectional study approach. The results of the analysis using the Pearson test found that there was a relationship between internal HLC and partnership, problem-solving, and emotional management, but no relationship was found with self-care in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. There is no relationship between chance HLC and powerful others HLC with self-management indicators, namely partnership, problem-solving, self-care, and emotional management of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible kidney function disorder in which the body fails to maintain metabolism and fluid-electrolyte balance, and causes retention of urine and other nitrogenous wastes in the body. The causes of CKD vary in the form of structural or functional abnormalities with a decrease in the Glomerular Filteration Rate (GFR) of less than 60 ml/minute/1.73. Methods: This study used a correlation descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was 59 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT) Fatigue Scale is used to measure fatigue. This study was analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. Results: Shows that the majority of CKD patients underwent hemodialysis with a duration of 4 hours (91.5%). The majority of respondents are women (52.5%). The majority of respondents are in the age group of 56-65 years (25.4%). The results of the analysis showed that the majority of respondents experienced mild fatigue (45.8%) with a p value = 0.936 0.154. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the duration of hemodialysis and the fatigue of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients while undergoing hemodialysis at Arifin Achmad Hospital.
