Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide additional insight to teachers to meet the competency standards as professional teachers set by the government. Indonesian teachers can signify professional teachers if they require all 10 teacher competencies. The two qualifications they need to acquire are education and training and being able to plan and conduct the learning process according to their expertise. Abdimas team of Post Graduate Program Indraprasta University works hand in hand with the Center for Competency Development for Education and Vocational Educators of West Jakarta (P2KPTK2 Jakarta Barat) supporting the teachers to realize their goals of being professional teachers by accommodating an activity of short training in the pedagogic matter, especially in the difference of students characters as a basis for designing a lesson along with enrichment of English learning materials for junior high school level. The method used in this event is observation as well as the discussion with the teachers and P2KPTK2 concerning their needs in the topics mentioned. As a result of this online activity, teachers were very enthusiastic: this can be seen from the post-test score which was better than the pre-test score. Participants also hope that similar activities can be conducted on an ongoing basis as an update of their pedagogic and English skills.

Abstract

On My Block (2018) series, directed by Lauren Iungerich and aired on Netflix in 2018, tells the story of four friends who live in a block in the city of Los Angeles, United States. Chaos often occurs due to the presence of many Hispanic gangsters. Cesar, one of four friends, faces a dilemma between following his family's wishes to become the successor to a gangster named Santos in his area or going to school for a better future with his friends. The dilemma faced by Cesar can be described as a negotiation between filiative and affiliative relations as elaborated by Edward Said (1978). Affiliation is a gift and cannot be changed which is passed down from generation to generation in the family, whereas affiliation is obtained through social interaction with other people. Cesar himself negotiated between filiates and affiliates which in the end, he preferred the filiate to become the head of the Santos gangsters in the block. This film shows a different story plot from other youth films set in slum areas in America which emphasize that success is only shown through education at school. This series instead presents the success achieved by Cesar through his choice as head of the Santos gangsters. However, another character, Monse, who is an African Hispanic woman, decides to go to higher education which is different from Cesar's choice. So, this series shows the construction of the Hispanic-American version of the American Dream which is shown through strong filial ties.

Abstract

The implementation of the physical distancing policy causes learning to be carried out online by changing the learning pattern in class and practicum in the laboratory or field to virtual or independent practicum activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the magnitude of the influence of virtual laboratory-based Student Worksheets (LKS) on the overall physics learning outcomes of students based on related variables and to determine the magnitude of the influence of virtual laboratory-based LKS on physics learning outcomes based on education levels. The research method used in this study is meta-analysis, namely narrative review and systematic review by analyzing the results of research that has been published nationally related to the use of virtual laboratory-based LKS on physics learning outcomes. Overall, virtual laboratory-based LKS was able to improve the physics learning outcomes of students in the experimental group with an effect size of 0.804 from the control group. The conclusion of this study shows that virtual laboratory-based LKS has a more effective influence on students' physics learning outcomes and is suitable for use in physics learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif metode survei yang bertujuan menguji pengaruh minat belajar dan disposisi matematis secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika serta menguji pengaruh minat belajar dan disposisi matematis secara parsial terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan hasil sampel sebanyak 84 siswa dari populasi sebanyak 534 siswa. Populasi ini diperoleh dari siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri di Kabupaten Kuningan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuesioner dan tes. Pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga variabel yaitu minat belajar, disposisi matematis, dan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan SPSS diperoleh nilai kontribusi ganda sebesar 0,684. Artinya, kontribusi X1 dan X2 secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi Y sebesar 68,4%. Sedangkan sisanya yaitu 31,6% Y dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain selain X1 dan X2. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan minat belajar dan disposisi matematis secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika; 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan minat belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika; 3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berbagai penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi yang dialami oleh peserta didik pada pembelajaran Matematika dan IPA dalam mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya. Dalam dunia pendidikan para pendidik sering kali menemukan peserta didik yang memiliki konsep yang berbeda dengan konsep yang diterima oleh pendidik ataupun dari sumber referensi lainnya. Secara umum, penyebab miskonsepsi berasal dari peserta didik sendiri, guru yang mengajar, buku teks, konteks pembelajaran, dan metode pengajar. Hal ini tentu saja berdampak pada pemahaman yang salah akibat dari pengalaman peserta didik dalam mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya dengan konsep yang tidak tepat. Miskonsepsi merupakan hal yang wajar dalam proses pembentukan pengetahuan oleh seseorang yang sedang belajar. Dengan demikian, tidak mudah untuk sungguh-sungguh mengerti penyebab miskonsepsi yang dialami setiap peserta didik dan juga tidak mudah untuk membantu setiap peserta didik secara tepat dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi. Oleh karena itu, dalam proses pembelajaran, sebaiknya para pendidik dapat memilih bahan pelajaran dan metode pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan perkembangan cara berpikir peserta didik, mencari atau mengungkap miskonsepsi yang dilakukan peserta didik, mencoba menemukan penyebab miskonsepsi tersebut, dan mencari perlakuan yang sesuai untuk mengatasi kesalahpahaman.

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to find and analyze empirically the effect of the I Care learning model on the students' metacognition. The method used in this research was the experimental method. The affordable population in this study was grade X students of SMK Assyafiah which is located at Jalan Bukit Duri No.29, South Jakarta 2016/2017 academic year. The sample of the study was 60 students obtained through random sampling method that the researcher mixed in the population so that all subjects were considered the same. Data collection was done by documentation techniques (learning model variables) and test techniques (student metacognition variables). The collected data was then analyzed using the t-test. Before the data was analyzed, first descriptive statistical analysis and data requirements test (normality test, homogeneity test) were carried out. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the I Care learning model on the students' metacognition. In other words, students' metacognition who used the I Care learning model was higher than the students' metacognition who used constructivism learning model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is. The research method used in this study is the experimental method. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling technique. The instrument for collecting data in this study is an essay test consisting of 8 items. The data analysis technique used is the t-test, and based on the t-test calculation shows t-count = 10,098 and t-table = 2,002 at the significant level of 5% or (???? = 0,05) and the degree of freedom (dk = 58) which means t-count> t table (10,098> 2,002) then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion is that the average mathematical problem solving ability of students given the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is higher than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are given an expository approach. And the effectiveness calculation for the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is quite high, which is 2,605. Thus, there is an influence and effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1).Pengaruh kecerdasan spiritual dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara, 2).Pengaruh kecerdasan spiritual terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara, 3).Pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Sampel yang digunakan 84 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik proposional random sampling dengan uji regresi linear berganda. Berdasarkan hasil hipotesis dan analisis data, disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan spiritual dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhitung = 19,285. 2).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan spiritual terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,002 < 0,05 dan thitung = 3,141. 3).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Negeri di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan  thitung = 4,057

Abstract

Salah satu tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana faktor-faktor seperti minat membaca dan keinginan untuk belajar memengaruhi kemahiran dalam menulis teks prosedural. 2) Bagaimana Minat Membaca Memengaruhi Kemampuan Menulis Teks Prosedural. 3. Bagaimana Motivasi Belajar Memengaruhi Kemampuan yang Diperlukan untuk Menulis Teks Prosedural. Tujuh ratus enam puluh dua siswa dari SMA Negeri 2 dan SMA Negeri 4 Kota Depok menjadi populasi penelitian. Seratus siswa dipilih secara acak untuk berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan survei dengan strategi korelasional. Berikut adalah temuan penelitian: 1) Kemampuan menulis teks prosedural siswa SMA Negeri Kota Depok secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh minat baca dan motivasi belajar mereka. Nilai F sebesar 19,947 dan tingkat signifikansi 0,000<0,05 menunjukkan hal ini. 2) Kemahiran siswa dalam menghasilkan teks prosedural sangat dipengaruhi oleh minat baca mereka di SMA Negeri Kota Depok. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan t hitung = 4,802. 3) Kemampuan menulis teks prosedur siswa SMA Negeri Kota Depok sangat dipengaruhi oleh motivasi belajarnya. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,009 < 0,05 dan t hitung = 2,669. Kata Kunci: Minat Baca, Motivasi Belajar, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Prosedural.

Abstract

Speaking skills are the ability to speak fluently and proficiently in expressing thoughts or ideas. To develop this ability, a speaker must not only master vocabulary and phrases and have correct pronunciation, but also possess confidence in speaking. The purpose  of this study was to find out: 1). The effect of perceptions of learning media and self-confidence together on the English speaking ability of State Junior High School students in South Jakarta, 2). State in South Jakarta, 3).The influence of self-confidence on the ability to speak English for students of SMP Negeri in South Jakarta,. The sample used was 84 students as a sample with multiple linear regression analysis model. Based on the results of the hypothesis and data analysis, it is concluded as follows: 1). There is a significant influence on the perception of learning media and self-confidence together on the English speaking ability of State Junior High School students in South Jakarta. This is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and Fcount = 19.239, 2). There is a significant influence on the perception of learning media on the English speaking ability of State Junior High School students in South Jakarta. This is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.004 <0.05 and tcount = 2.989, 3). There is a significant effect of self-confidence on the English speaking ability of State Junior High School students in South Jakarta. This is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and tcount = 4.347.
