Abstract

The objectives of the study are (1) to produce student worksheets based on APOS Theory for Math lessons in Class X Senior High School which is in line with the 2013 Curriculum; (2) to evaluate the effectivity of the student worksheets based on APOS Theory, in terms of the activity and result of learning Matrix. The results of the study are (1) the development of the worksheets (according to APOS Theory) were carried out through five stages, namely, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation; (2) the assessments performed by media experts, material specialists and subject teachers showed that the worksheets developed are feasible and could be used for students of Class X Senior High School; (3) the responses given by the students towards the worksheets were good; (4) the effectivity of the learning was elevated; it was shown by the increased learning activities of the students and the higher average score of the test (87.14), compared to the minimum criterion of completeness of 75.

Abstract

The development of science and information technology has changed paradigm of learning from conventional (teacher – centered) to a learning based on information and communication technology (ICT). This shift affects the teacher roles from information resources and expert in conventional teaching into facilitator, guidance an organizer in multimedia based teaching. Therefore, teachers should be able to utilize and integrate ICT. So, teachers have to have knowledge, skills and able to implement ICT in the teaching of their subjects. The purposes of this research are to measure ICT knowledge, skill and its implementation in mathematics teaching and to identify factors and obstacles affecting math teachers use ICT in the classroom of senior high school in Tanjung Jabung Barat. The method of this research is quantitative research by using descriptive analysis. Data were collected using questionnaire of teachers knowledge, skill and implementation ICT. The research populations are mathematics teachers of senior high school in Tanjung Jabung Barat and all are as the sample of this research. This is because the total populations are relatively small. The result of this research showed that the levels of teacher’s knowledge and implementation are both ‘low’, while teacher skill is at ‘medium’ level. From the background of respondents involving the status of civil servant, experience, gender, age and workshop or ICT course, it seems doesn’t effect the teachers competence. The obstacles that affect teacher in using ICT for teaching is lack of ICT facilities at school.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving skills in learning physics is important. According to the preliminary study conducted at MTsN Jambi, it is known that the mathematical problem solving ability of students in learning physics still low. This study aims to improve the mathematical problem solving capability by applying the team assisted individualization and self-efficacy cooperative learning model. This study was experimental research by using questionnaire self-efficacy instrument and essay test. The population of this study was seventh grade students MTsN Jambi. Data analysis was performed by using two ways-ANOVA and Tukey test. The results shows that: (1) cooperative learning model of TAI influences to students’ physical problem solving capability, (2) SE influences the students’  physical problem solving capability, (3) there are differences in high SE students’  physical problem solving capability by using cooperative learning model type TAI from those who using conventional learning models, (4) there are differences in low SE students’  physical problem solving capability by using cooperative learning model TAI type than those using conventional learning model, (5) there is no interaction between the cooperative learning model of TAI and SE of students in MTsN Jambi.

Abstract

Physics is a subject that does not only prioritize students’ understanding of material aspects but also improve students' thinking skills. It is expected that students are not only capable and skilled in the field of psychomotor, but also able to think systematically, objectively, and creatively. In order to achieve the objectives learning physics needs to be supported by practicum. However, there are still a number of obstacles in undertaking practicum, one of which is inadequate laboratory equipment. This study aims to develop learning media for class XII physics material on topic of dynamic electricity that develop and enhance students' science process skills in the laboratory. This type of research is a development research using the ADDIE development model. Validation is done by two experts, the material expert and media expert, aiming to get comments and suggestion to produce interesting and high quality media. Based on the experts’ assessment as well as peer teacher and students trial, the developed media is considered as feasible that can be applied to facilitate physics learning for students of class XII.

Abstract

Students have their own personality types which will ultimately affect their learning skills. This study aims to describe the critical thinking process of cholerist type students in solving mathematical problems. This type of research is a qualitative-descriptive study. The subjects of the study were students of SMK 5 Muaro Jambi who had participated in the district mathematics olympiad. The instruments used were personality test sheets, problem solving sheets and interview guidelines. The researcher directly observed the process of solving mathematical problems performed by the research subject. The researcher analyzed the results of the students' work in formulating questions, solving problems, and interviewing research subjects. The interview data was analyzed by means of data reduction, data exposure/categorization and subsequent conclusions. The results of this study indicate that during the problem solving process research subjects can solve problems casually, confidently and correctly. From the results of solving problems I and II it can be seen that the research subjects make decisions very quickly, directly and solve them with different steps according to the situation and the results of their thoughts on the problems faced. It can be concluded that the research subjects were able to solve the problem critically.

Abstract

The lack of Biology teaching materials in senior high school in the Kerinci District has promoted this research. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules as teaching materials used by students in Biology subjects. The model used in developing this e-module is the 4-D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Biology e-modules on plantae and animalia material based on the potential of the Kerinci region were validated by media and material experts. The results of the media expert validation obtained the final percentage of 90% (very valid category) and the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% (valid category). From the results of the field test, the teacher responded that the e-modules produced were suitable for use in biology class X high school learning with a percentage of 92.5% (very good category). Furthermore, e-module trials on students obtained responses that the products produced were also proper to be used in biology learning in class X of senior high school. The small group test obtained a score of 85% (excellent category) and the large group test obtained score 78.3% (good category). The use of the developed e-modules in learning resulted in a score of 76.3% (successful category).

Abstract

Mastery of the prerequisite material is essential to help students overcome mathematics learning difficulties; however, the prerequisite material needs to be managed effectively to achieve learning objectives. Student Worksheet (LKPD) is a learning tool that can be used to achieve learning objectives. This research is development research to produce a student worksheet that is valid, practical, and effective. LKPD development is carried out using the ADDIE model. The valid value is obtained from the results of content validation by the validator. The practical value is obtained from the test subject's response, and the effectiveness value is obtained based on the assessment of students during the actual trial. The development results show that the average percentage score of the validation results of material experts and media experts reaches 72%, which indicates that LKPD is valid. The practicality assessment was obtained from the percentage of student and teacher responses to the questionnaire given; the average is 99%. The trial results show that the students' responses are very valid. Student learning outcomes showed that 76% of students were able to reach the minimum requirement achievement, meaning that the LKPD effectively improved student learning outcomes. Mathematical LKPD based on structured prerequisite material fulfills the valid, practical, and effective criteria for learning straight line equation material.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum emphasizes character in every learning. One effort to shape students' character of discipline, honesty, curiosity, independence, and responsibility is the internalization of character values ​​in the learning of Physics Practicum. This study aims to describe the internalization of the character values ​​of students at MAN Insan Cendikia Jambi. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method through observation, self-assessment, and interviews of six students of class XI consisting of three female students (S1W, S2W, and S3W) and three male students (S4L, S5L, and S6L). The results showed that the six students experienced internalization of character values ​​by accepting and carrying out the practicum. Moreover, students with high disciplinary characters also had high responsibility characters, while students with low disciplinary characters also had low responsibility characters.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan langkah pengembangan serta melihat kelayakan dari sebuah game edutainment berbasis smartphone yang digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan prosedur pengembangannya menggunakan model ADDIE. Adapun prosedur pengembangannya terdiri dari analisis masalah, analisis materi, validasi kesenjangan kinerja, desain produk, validasi ahli media dan ahli materi, uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok, dan implementasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini  adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Kota Jambi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi ahli media dan materi, lembar penilaian guru, lembar penilaian siswa, dan angket persepsi siswa, serta soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Dari hasilpenelitiandiperoleh temuanbahwa mediapembelajaran game edutainmentyang dikembangkanvalid ditinjau dari penilaian ahli media yang menyatakan bahwa mediavalid danrerataskorvalidasimateri seesar  4,1.Gameedutainmentyang dikembangkan praktis ditinjau dari hasil angket penilaian guru dengan rerata skor sebesar 4,2dan rerataskorangketpenilaiansiswasebesar4,7. Gameedutainmentyang dikembangkan efektif ditinjau dari hasil pre-test dan post-test kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswadiperoleh skor peningkatan sebesar 0,65 dengan kriteria peningkatan sedang dan dari hasil persepsi siswa, diperoleh tingkat persetujuan adalah pada kategori setuju untuk setiap indikatornya

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan langkah pengembangan serta melihat kelayakan dari sebuah modul berbasis problem based learning yang digunakan sebagai sumber pembelajaran berorientasi pada peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan prosedur pengembangannya menggunakan model ADDIE. Adapun prosedur pengembangannya terdiri dari analisis kebutuhan, analisis kurikulum, analisis karakteristik siswa, desain produk, validasi ahli desain dan materi, validasi praktisi, uji coba perorangan, dan uji coba kelompok kecil. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX di Bimbingan Belajar RIBIVAT Kota Jambi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi ahli desain dan materi, lembar validasi praktisi oleh guru, lembar wawancara persepsi siswa, serta soal tes dengan tipe complex, unfamilliar and nonroutine (CUN). Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh temuan bahwa pengembangan modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan valid ditinjau dari penilaian ahli desain pembelajaran yang menyatakan bahwa modul valid. Prosedur penggunaan modul pembelajaran dikatakan mudah dan baik berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh praktisi dan hasil uji coba perorangan, dampak dari penggunaan modul ini dapat membuat siswa menjadi lebih mudah dalam memahami materi bilangan serta meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dilihat dari hasil pretest dan posttest.
