Abstract

Inflammation is a protective response caused by damage to certain tissues. Anti-inflammatory is a substance or drug used to treat redness, increased body temperature, swelling, pain and loss of function of an organ. Steroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have many side effects, so studies are needed to develop new drugs to minimize side effects and improve therapeutic effects. The method used is literature review from journals and articles obtained from Google Scholar in 15 journals. The purpose of the literature review is to find out the study of the development of new drugs from several compounds that have potential as anti-inflammatories. Secondary metabolites that have potential as anti-inflammatory include essential oils, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, and anthocyanins. Secondary metabolites will interact with the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme which is the main mediator of inflammation. The results obtained from the 15 compounds contain these secondary metabolites so they have the potential as anti-inflammatory.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the most optimal storage conditions for maintaining the stability of vitamin C and aspirin tablets by considering key environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light exposure, and storage duration. The review was conducted using a systematic review approach based on the PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches were performed through three main sources, namely PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2015 to early 2025. The search through Google Scholar was carried out to complement the findings and minimize publication bias. A total of 14 research articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed in depth. The results indicate that vitamin C tablets exhibit the highest stability at low to room temperature (<30°C), under dry conditions with relative humidity below 75% RH, and protected from direct light exposure. In contrast, aspirin tablets show optimal stability at room temperature (around 25°C), under moderate humidity (<60% RH), and when stored in tightly sealed, light-resistant containers. The degradation of vitamin C is primarily driven by oxidation induced by heat, light, and moisture, whereas aspirin undergoes hydrolysis under humid and high-temperature conditions. Therefore, storing both tablets in a cool, dry place away from direct light is the most effective approach to preserve their stability and therapeutic efficacy throughout their shelf life.

Abstract

Abstract

speed, simplicity, and cost, but the extent of its agreement with HPLC across diverse clinical contexts requires careful evaluation. Method: This narrative review synthesizes evidence from nine studies identified through Scopus and Google Scholar to assess the analytical agreement and clinical validity of CEDIA and related immunoassay platforms compared to HPLC and advanced chromatographic methods. Results: The reviewed evidence demonstrates strong inter-method correlation, although systematic positive bias in immunoassay results is consistently observed, particularly in patients receiving enzyme-inducing co-medications where carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide accumulation affects antibody cross-reactivity. CEDIA is analytically acceptable for routine CBZ TDM in stable patients on monotherapy. HPLC and LC-MS/MS remain preferable when metabolite quantification, polytherapy monitoring, or precise measurement near therapeutic boundaries is clinically required. Conclusion: Method selection should be guided by the clinical question, patient population characteristics, and available laboratory resources.
