Abstract

Farmers in specific region can play a crucial role in preventing the extinction of rare rice varieties by maintaining their commitment to local rice production. This not only contributes to the economic stability of the community but also necessitates exploration efforts to identify and gather specific plant species at risk of extinction. This study employs a descriptive research design to identify, gather, and compare the relationships between local rice genotypes in the Kuantan Singingi regency. The survey method utilizes a planned sample of rice seeds.The exploration process involves observing geographic coordinate locations, collecting local rice seeds, and examining grain and rice morphology based on Bioversity International, IRRI, and WARDA standards from 2007. The Kuantan River, with an altitude ranging from 28.95 to 61.56 meters above sea level, is prone to frequent flooding. A morphological study of grains reveals that, out of 26 local rice genotypes, one pair exhibits the highest similarity rate of 71% when compared to more diverse types. Notably, the white sironda rice from Pulau Madina village in Kuantan Hilir district and pandan wangi rice from Pauh Angit village in Pangean district are identified as the most identical genotypes. By identifying and preserving unique and highly-potential indigenous rice genotypes, this research significantly contributes to the enhancement of food stability, rural economy, and genetic resilience of rice plasma in Indonesia.

Abstract

Rice is Indonesians' main source of nourishment. Farmers get the seeds for growing their paddy crops from both non -local rice genotypes and local genotypes. The two main consideration factors influencing the decision to use the seed varieties are high production of the varieties and customer preferences. Local rice genotypes in Kuantan Singingi Regency have potential to fulfill the เว็บสล็อต | R4shub requirements. This study aimed to ascertain the response the regional rice genotypes in Kuantan Singingi Regency to planting system technology. The experiment was designed in Split Plot Design in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the main plot consisted of multiple cultivation systems (Factor S) as follows: Tile system, Jajar legowo system (2:1), and Rice Intensification systems. The following genotypes were then employed in subplots using a completely randomized design (CRD): Kuning Umur Panjang (G07), Samo Putiah (G09), Limbayang (G10), Singgam Putih (G14), Pulut Kari (G16) and Kuning (G18). The findings showed that.local rice genotypes responded differently to the planting system technology. Limbayang genotype had dry milled grain weight per clump of 105.57 grams, while the Singgam Putih genotype had plant height of 141.00 cm. The rice intensification system (SRI) gave the best growth and production to Limbayang and Singgam Putih. The findings of the study can be taken into consideration for future research, such as plant breeding efforts to enhance the traits of local rice genotypes.

Abstract

Pembukaan lahan merupakan kegiatan membuka atau membersihkan lahan yang awalnya hutan atau ditanami pepohonan menjadi lahan yang akan digunakan untuk berbagai kegiatan. Pembukaan lahan dilakukan oleh petani untuk membuka lahan yang akan dipakai untuk lahan pertanian. Pembukaan lahan penting bagi sebagian orang apalagi yang bekerja sebagai pekebun ataupun petani, banyaknya masyarakat yang bekerja sebagai pekebun menimbulkan tumbuh pesatnya pemanfaatan lahan. Penggunaan lahan tersebut jarang sekali memperhatikan kondisi lahan untuk diolah, banyak juga kondisi lahan yang mempunyai keterbatasan fisik maupun kimia namun masih saja diolah dan ini mengakibatkan rusaknya lahan, salah satu contohnya adalah kebakaran lahan. Masyarakat di Nagari Sungai Dareh dalam pengelolaan SDA (Sumber Daya Alam) masih banyak diakukan dengan menggunakan media api, salah satu kegiatan masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan penggunaan media api antara lain: pembukaan lahan untuk persiapan sawah/kebun/ternak, pencarian lokasi ikan di rawa-rawa dengan cara membakar semak-semak yang menutupi permukaan air, pemberantasan hama tikus/babi, dan sebagainya. Penyiapan lahan tanpa bakar adalah teknik pembuatan rintisan dan pembagian petak tanaman dengan menggunakan alat. Keuntungan dari teknik mengolah lahan tanpa bakar yaitu dalam aplikasinya tidak terlalu tergantung pada kondisi cuaca, kecuali kondisi yang terlalu basah karena dapat menghambat mobilitas alat berat. Selain itu, kelebihan utama teknik ini adalah jauh lebih ramah lingkungan dibandingkan dengan teknik pembakaran. Selain manfaat lingkungan dan agronomis, pembukaan lahan tanpa bakar juga memberikan nilai tambah ekonomis.

Abstract

Increasing rice production has been carried out in various ways. One method that has been implemented is the SRI method which can increase yields up to two times or more, but this method has not been adopted optimally by farmers because of the difficulty in cultivating practices in the field. Apart from that, farmers still use inorganic fertilizers without balancing them with organic fertilizers. One alternative that can be applied is to use organic materials that are available in the rice field environment, namely using liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from banana stems and coconut fiber which are very easy for farmers to obtain in the field. Apart from the difficulty of getting fertilizer, due to high prices, fertile land has changed its function so that the area for rice cultivation is starting to decrease, but the land that is still widely available is marginal (suboptimal) land with low soil nutrient content and low pH. The aim of this research is to obtain the interaction between the type of LOF and the recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer as a substitute. The research location was carried out in Pasar Ambacang Village, Kuranji District, Padang City from May to November 2023. The research was carried out using a 2-factor factorial design in a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), where the first factor was the type of LOF (banana stem and coconut fiber) and the second factor is the dose of inorganic fertilizer TSP and KCl (0, 25, 50, 75, 100) % recommendation. The results obtained are that providing LOF types with inorganic fertilizers with different recommendations showed an interaction with the leaf area index. The number of stomata is influenced by the type of LOF and inorganic fertilizer, where LOF coconut fiber with 100% inorganic fertilizer gives the best results. Key words: banana stems, yield, fertilizer, coconut fiber, substitution

Abstract

The village of Sungai Nanam, Lembah Gumanti, is an area in Solok Regency, West Sumatra, that produces significant organic waste from horticultural agriculture. If not managed properly, this waste can cause environmental and aesthetic issues. However, this waste can be converted into an eco-enzyme. An eco-enzyme is a liquid enzyme produced by fermenting organic waste. Eco-enzyme has many benefits, including being used as a liquid organic fertilizer, cleaner, and pest repellent. This community service aims to educate and train the community, especially the women farmers group, named Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Rimbo Data Sejahtera, on converting organic waste into eco-enzymes. The program used three methods: socialization, demonstration, and mentoring. It has been proven to be an effective way to educate and train the community, particularly KWT Rimbo Data Sejahtera, on proper waste management. This program is a perfect fit for their needs and is very useful in reducing the impact of pollution.

Abstract

  Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi memiliki potensi genotipe padi lokal yang dapat dikembangkan, baik menjadi sumber plasma nutfah maupun bahan perbaikan sifat. Perlu karakterisasi tampilan generatif dari genotipe lokal tersebut. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui karakterisasi tampilan generatif dari genotipe padi lokal asal Kuantan Singingi. Metode penelitian dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial digunakan pada penelitian ini diulang 3 kali dan masing-masing plot terdiri dari 3 sampel. Faktor G = Genotipe padi lokal, terdiri : A (Beras kuning umur panjang), B (Beras singgam putih), C (Beras samo putiah), D (Pulut kari), E (Beras limbayang) dan F (Beras kuning). Faktor P = Kombinasi Pupuk, terdiri : P1 = 0 + 100, P2 = 25 + 75, P3 = 50 + 50, P4 = 75 + 25  dan P5 = 100 + 0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan umur keluar malai (hst) tercepat terdapat pada genotipe beras kuning (96,80 hari setelah tanam). Bobot gabah kering giling yang terberat pada genotipe beras samo putiah dan P1 = 0 + 100 (Tanpa pupuk organik + Urea 300, SP-36 100 kg/ha, KCl 100 kg/ha) 105,00 gram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun, total jumlah anakan per rumpun, bobot gabah kering giling per rumpun berpengaruh nyata secara interaksi antara perlakuan kombinasi dosis pupuk dengan perlakuan genotipe padi lokal. Genotipe beras samo putiah dapat digunakan sebagai sumber plasma nutfah berdasarkan hasil bobot berat kering giling (respon terhadap pemupukan).

Abstract

Sugar palm is a plant that has high economic potential, but its cultivation in Indonesia is still lacking in attention. The demand for palm sugar will continue to increase, so it is important to develop the cultivation of this plant with environmentally friendly methods. Through the Community Partnership Helping Businesses Grow (PKM MUB) program, a community service team consisting of academics and students from Andalas University collaborated with the Bukik Kandang Forest Farmers Group. Identification of problems includes slow growth of sugar palm plants due to lack of proper maintenance and fertilization. Therefore, this community service proposes the use of organic fertilizers, such as buffalo manure, palm oil mill liquid waste, and solid decanters, to increase plant growth. The methods used include socialization, training, and assistance to farmers in implementing efficient cultivation technology by observing all activities in the field that include aspects of sugar palm cultivation. The stages carried out in this activity include: Location survey, demonstration socialization, land clearing, preparation of organic materials, application of organic fertilizers, preparation of seeds, planting, and maintenance. The target output of this community service is an accredited scientific article and increased productivity and farmer welfare. These expected steps can improve food security and contribute to local economic development as well as environmental preservation and the application of sugar palm cultivation technology by utilizing several types of organic fertilizers, which have been proven to improve plant growth and farmer welfare in Nagari Sungai Dareh. Through socialization, training, and mentoring methods, farmers gain a better understanding of environmentally friendly plant maintenance techniques.

Abstract

Peneliti menggunakan induksi mutasi pada padi untuk menciptakan keragaman genetik yang tinggi. Populasi dasar dengan keragaman genetik yang tinggi akan memudahkan proses seleksi karakter yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis optimal yang menginduksi keragaman genetik tertinggi pada tiga genotipe padi sawah. Bahan penelitian adalah tiga genotipe padi sawah yaitu “Madang Pulau”, “Putiah Papanai” dan “Banang Kuniang”. Iradiasi gamma dilakukan di Pusat Aplikasi Isotop dan Radiasi (PAIR) BATAN. Setiap genotipe diiradiasi dengan dosis 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 500 dan 600 Gy. Penyemaian dilakukan di lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Ekasakti. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap persentase kecambah (%), tinggi bibit dan panjang akar. Nilai LD50 ditentukan berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi persentase kecambah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) persentase kecambah yang tumbuh menurun seiring dengan peningkatan dosis iradiasi gamma, kecuali pada genotipe “Puputiah Papanai”, sedangkan tinggi bibit dan panjang akar untuk ketiga genotype yang tumbuh menurun seiring dengan peningkatan dosis iradiasi gamma (2) nilai LD50 pada Genotype Madang Pulau, Putiah Papanai, dan Banang Kuniang masing-masing adalah 333.58 Gy, 377.62 Gy, dan 291.14 Gy. (3) dosis optimal iradiasi sinar gamma untuk ketiga genotype berkisar pada dosis 200-300 Gy. (4) Di antara tiga genotipe padi yang diuji, mutan “Banang Kuiang”.

Abstract

Penyakit layu fusarium pada tanaman bawang merah disebabkan oleh Fusarium oxysporum    f.sp. cepae (FOC). Penyakit ini tergolong penyakit penting pada tanaman bawang merah yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian hingga 50% atau bahkan menyebabkan gagal panen. Alternatif pengendalian penyakit layu fusarium bisa dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan bakteri Bacillus spp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji bakteri Bacillus spp. sebagai agens biokontrol untuk menekan perkembangan penyakit layu fusarium dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta hasil tanaman bawang merah.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Laboratorium Fitopatologi Departemen Proteksi Tanaman serta di Kebun Percobaan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Andalas, Padang pada bulan April sampai September 2023. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas 8 perlakuan (6 galur bakteri Bacillus spp., kontrol positif, dan kontrol negatif) yang diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Bakteri Bacillus spp. yang digunakan adalah B. waihenstephanensis galur RBTLL 3.2, B. cereus galur MRDKBTE 1.3, B. thuringiensis galur MRSNRZ 3.1, B. mycoides galur MRSNUMBE 2.2, B. mycoides galur MRBPBT 2.1, dan B. cereus galur MRPLUMBE 1.3.  Bakteri Bacillus spp., diintroduksi pada umbi bawang merah dengan merendam umbi sebelum ditanam dan inokulasi FOC di sekitar perakaran pada umur tanaman 4 minggu. Variabel yang diamati yaitu perkembangan penyakit (masa inkubasi, kejadian penyakit dan keparahan penyakit) dan pertumbuhan bawang merah (tinggi, jumlah daun, berat basah, dan berat kering umbi). Perlakuan B. cereus galur MRPLUMBE 1.3 menunjukkan kemampuan terbaik menghambat perkembangan penyakit layu fusarium, sedangkan B. mycoides galur MRBPBT 2.1 memberikan hasil terbaik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman bawang merah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Bacillus spp. memiliki potensi untuk menekan perkembangan penyakit layu fusarium dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman bawang merah.

Abstract

This study is about the analysis of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) stressed by drought against the administration of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in pre nursery. This study aims to determine the effect of AMF on morphophysiology and biochemistry of oil palm seedling growth in pre nursery. This research was conducted at the UPT experimental garden (upper land), Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University, Padang with an altitude of ±200 meters above sea level (masl). Observation of root colonization and proline accumulation tests were conducted at the Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University, Padang. The study was conducted from June to September 2024. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was the level of drought stress 4 treatment levels, namely field capacity (100, 75, 50 and 25%), the second factor was the dose of AMF 2 treatment levels, namely (10 grams/seedling, 15 grams/seedling). The data were analyzed statistically using the F test at a significance level of 5%, if the calculated F was greater than the F table, then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a significance level of 5%. The results of this study indicate that there is an interaction between field capacity treatment and AMF dose on the growth of oil palm seedlings, in observing proline accumulation test. The AMF dose of 10 grams showed the best results for all observation variables. The field capacity of 75% showed the best results for all observation variables.
