Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has brought about changes in the field of education, one of which is the emergence of web-based learning. Based on preliminary observation data collected through questionnaires, students still expressed uncertainty about their understanding of software engineering (SE) materials. The current learning media for SE include PowerPoint (PPT), e-modules, and instructional videos, which students find less engaging and challenging to comprehend. Additionally, students face distractions like games and social media, leading to difficulty maintaining focus while studying. The objectives of this research are (1) to analyze user and system needs and (2) to design web-based responsive learning media for the software engineering course, equipped with a Pomodoro feature. The research method used is research and development (R and D) with the 4D Thiagarajan development model, consisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, only the definition and design stages were carried out due to research limitations. The presentation of data analysis results involves (1) needs analysis, which includes frontend analysis, learner analysis, task analysis, concept analysis, and specifying instructional objectives; (2) system design, which includes context diagrams and data flow diagrams; (3) database design, which includes Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and database file structure; (4) initial design in the form of a prototype; (5) technology design for development and implementation; and (6) instructional media testing design

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi memfasilitasi kegiatan pembelajaran secara maksimal juga mendorong terciptanya keterbaruan, mengarahkan pada kegiatan pembelajaran yang lebih menarik. Kendati pendidikan yang menjadi indikator penting dalam eksistensi negara, kondisi pendidikan di Indonesia tidak terlihat baik berdasarkan hasil survei pemeringkatan PISA 2018 yang menilai literasi sains dimana Indonesia menempati urutan 6 dari bawah. Proses pembelajaran yang baik berkaitan dengan penggunaan media dan metode yang menarik bagi peserta didik, sehingga dapat memberikan motivasi dari dalam diri peserta didik untuk mempelajari pengetahuan lebih dalam. Melakukan digitalisasi pada media pembelajaran melalui platform mobile dapat dijadikan alternatif media yang dapat menarik peserta didik mengingat tingginya penggunaan smartphone di Indonesia. Metodologi pembelajaran tradisional sudah tidak membuat peserta didik tertarik; sebaliknya, video gim edukasi dapat memberikan dorongan untuk belajar dengan cara baru sembari menikmati tugas yang membosankan. Fisika merupakan ilmu sains fundamental namun tidak disukai oleh peserta didik, sehingga penerapan media pembelajaran interaktif seperti gim sangat diperlukan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Salah satu materi fisika yakni gerak lurus merupakan salah satu materi yang sukar dipahami sehingga memerlukan perhatian lebih. Berdasarkan masalah diatas maka dilakukan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D. Penelitian menghasilkan adventure game materi Gerak Lurus yang terintegrasi model Problem Based Learning. Berdasarkan uji validasi dihasilkan data uji; (1) validasi oleh ahli materi pertama menghasilkan persentase 89% sedangkan ahli materi kedua 87.75% yang menunjukkan media masuk kategori sangat valid, (2) validasi oleh ahli media didapatkan hasil sangat valid dengan persentase 93.71%, dan (3) uji coba produk pada 30 siswa SMA kelas 11 menghasilkan persentase 87.23% menunjukkan produk sangat valid. Berdasarkan komentar dan saran dari ahli materi dan media maka dilakukan beberapa revisi produk untuk memaksimalkan hasil akhir.

Abstract

Teaching factory is a learning concept that adapts the learning conditions in school to those in the industry. But the problem in vocational education today is the lack of absorbed practicum learning caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the focus of this research is the teaching factory learning program at Telkom Malang Vocational High School (TMVHS) during the pandemic. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The location of this research is in TMVHS. The results from the study showed that the preparation carried out by TMVHS was done by finding an industry that was following the competence of students' expertise as partners. The implementation of the teaching factory at TMVHS is the teacher becomes the primary instructor in helping students because learning is completely done online. In addition, there are inhibitory factors during the teaching factory learning process, especially in the pandemic season, namely reduced interaction between students and industry. But these inhibitory factors can be overcome by students who have the enthusiasm and high learning motivation.

Abstract

Vocational High School (VHS) is a vocational school intended to give students practical skills to create skilled graduates ready for jobs. To serve this purpose, Public Vocational High School (PVHS) 1 of Jenangan designs teaching factory learning model. Teaching factory is a learning model focusing on teaching students some practical skills with which to manufacture quality products up to industry standard. Hopefully, the educational outcome of this model can be Income Generating Unit (IGU) of software engineering study program in the school. This is descriptive and qualitative research using Miles ad Huberman’s data analysis model. The research found that using teaching factory as income generating unit with marketable products in software engineering study program is an effective strategy for the effort to provide quality human resources ready to perform jobs and create marketable products.

Abstract

Concerns about scientific publications have been proliferating in Indonesia. Consequently, the number of published journals in e-journal has been rapidly increasing over the past few years. The growing trend of e-journal hence requires a decision support system in its application. The DSS will help the reviewers in determining the eligibility of an article in the journal’s verification process. Several DSS methods such as DEMATEL, SAW, and TOPSIS, among others, are proposed to provide an effective means in the process. This research aims to present a solid comparison of two combined methods, DEMATEL-SAW and DEMATEL-TOPSIS, as they overcome each method’s shortcomings, in determining the eligibility of an article. The eligibility criteria have been determined as a guide. The calculation results show that the DEMATEL-SAW has a relatively higher degree of accuracy compared to that of DEMATEL-TOPSIS when fewer criteria variables are included, whereas the DEMATEL-TOPSIS method has a higher degree of consistency when being utilized on a variable with more criteria

Abstract

This research was conducted to design a user interface design in the form of a prototype for learning media for mobile-based basic programming courses using a User-Centered Design approach. Where this approach uses four stages in its implementation, including: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Build or Revise, and 4) User Test. The use case diagram in this user interface uses two actors, namely students and admins. The test was conducted on 10 students and vocational high school students using the short-type User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) test method. From the tests carried out, the average results of Pragmatic Quality are 1.70, Hedonic Quality is 1.39, and Overall is 1.54. From the results of the study, it was found that the mobile learning media interface for basic programming subjects was comfortable and easy to use. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang desain user interface berupa prototype media pembelajaran mata kuliah pemrograman dasar berbasis mobile dengan menggunakan pendekatan User-Centered Design. Dimana pendekatan ini menggunakan empat tahapan dalam implementasinya, antara lain: 1) Analisis, 2) Desain, 3) Build atau Revisi, dan 4) Uji Pengguna. Diagram use case pada user interface ini menggunakan dua aktor yaitu mahasiswa dan admin. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap 10 orang siswa dan siswi SMK dengan menggunakan metode tes User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) tipe pendek. Dari pengujian yang dilakukan diperoleh rata-rata hasil Pragmatic Quality sebesar 1,70, Hedonic Quality sebesar 1,39, dan Overall sebesar 1,54. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa antarmuka media mobile learning mata pelajaran pemrograman dasar nyaman dan mudah digunakan.

Abstract

Karya dan kreativitas merupakan hal yang penting dalam dunia pendidikan, kurangnya media tempat untuk menampung hasil karya dan kreativitas siswa menyebabkan banyaknya karya siswa yang terlupakan dan terhenti begitu saja. Aplikasi LingKar (Lingkup Karya) berbasis web merupakan sebuah inovasi yang bertujuan untuk memberikan wadah bagi siswa SMA dalam mengekspresikan kreativitas dan menampilkan hasil karya mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan metode prototyping dan black box testing untuk merancang dan menguji aplikasi LingKar. Observasi dilakukan terhadap 37 siswa dan 2 guru SMAN 8 Malang untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan harapan pengguna terhadap aplikasi ini. Hasil observasi menunjukkan ketertarikan yang tinggi terhadap konsep aplikasi LingKar sebagai tempat menampung hasil karya siswa. Berdasarkan observasi tersebut, aplikasi LingKar dirancang dengan fitur-fitur utama seperti Beranda, Karya, Tentang, dan Kontak. Testing dilakukan menggunakan metode black box testing oleh guru sejawat dan siswa untuk memastikan fungsionalitas dan navigasi aplikasi. Hasil testing menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi LingKar berjalan sesuai dengan harapan pengguna. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi LingKar memiliki potensi untuk menjadi sarana yang efektif dalam mendukung kreativitas siswa SMA di SMAN 8 Malang

Abstract

This research aims to assess the Teaching Factory (TEFA) program using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) evaluation model. The program is implemented in vocational schools, which refers to the standards and procedures applicable in the current industry. In this study, Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi Vocational School will be the research subject. The CIPP evaluation model was carried out by collecting data using observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and then it will analyzed using a percentage descriptive system. The research results show that the TEFA program is in good criteria in all four aspects. However, its implementation can improve several points, such as the infrastructure, laboratories, or practical workshops.

Abstract

PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) scores over the past 20 years show that many Indonesian students are still unable to understand simple reading or basic concepts in certain subjects. Integrating technology with education is the main focus to eliminate the existing gap both in terms of recognition and utilization of the abilities of learners. Electronic modules (e-modules) are one of the alternatives that can be used to deepen understanding of the material and increase student motivation in learning. This research aims to develop a flipbook-based e-module equipped with 3D models containing discovery learning stages as an effort to increase the learning motivation of grade X students, especially in the subject of basics of computer network engineering and telecommunications elements of technological developments in the field of computer network engineering and telecommunications. Research and development conducted using the Hannafin and Peck model with stages including (1) needs analysis, (2) design, and (3) development and implementation where each stage is accompanied by evaluation and revision. This research resulted in a media validation test value of 95.50% or very feasible and the material expert validation test resulted in a value of 97.20% or very feasible. The product trial stage was carried out at SMK Negeri 8 Malang with the results of a small group trial of 89.93% or very feasible and a large group trial of 91.72% or very feasible. Measurement of student learning motivation obtained a gain score of 0.63 or a moderate increase category, from 72.99% in the high category to 90.10% in the very high category.

Abstract

The teacher is the main foundation for implementing successful learning in delivering students to achieve their goals and aspirations. Teacher in learning does not only transfer knowledge but also transfers positive values that will equip students to live in society. The meaning of learning for teachers and students cannot be separated from the teacher's role as a motivator. Apart from having to have basic teaching skills, teachers are also required to have self-motivation in teaching. One of the efforts to train and improve basic teaching abilities and skills for student teacher candidates is through microteaching. This step is also an effort to increase the teaching motivation future teachers at educational universities, especially the State University of Malang. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of teaching motivation future teachers who have implemented microteaching, in terms of 2 indicators, namely intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. This research is a quantitative descriptive with 142 students from 8 faculties of education at Malang State University as subjects. The research instrument uses a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale that has been tested for validity, reliability, and normality. Data were analyzed descriptively to measure the level of teaching motivation future teachers at Malang State University. The results of the study show that the teaching motivation for future teacher students is mostly at a moderate level. While the percentage of intrinsic motivation is higher than the extrinsic motivation. So it can be concluded that microteaching activities have succeeded in growing future teachers' teaching motivation, especially on intrinsic motivation. The desire to succeed, the encouragement and need in teaching, as well as the hopes and aspirations for the future are the driving force behind teaching motivation for future teacher students at the State University of Malang.
