Abstract

This study not only measures the relationship between organizational culture and teacher performance but also finds an essential foundation for madrasah in building organizational culture and how to improve their performance. A descriptive quantitative approach is used in this research; data collection is done through surveys and the preparation of research instruments. The results show that, in general, the organizational culture is quite good, the values, teamwork, and work performance are also good, while in performance, teachers generally have various levels of achievement, satisfaction, responsibility, honesty, empathy, and persistence in work. In madrasah, organizational culture is related to teacher performance so a superior organizational culture will affect teachers' performance; on the other hand, educational institutions that cannot build a good culture result in decreased teacher performance.

Abstract

In some Eastern societies, character development is usually inseparable from people's religiosity. This research aims to reveal the role of school principals in creating student religiosity. This research uses a qualitative approach; data collection techniques are carried out through observation, involving oneself in learning activities, and interview techniques with several teachers and school principals. The collected data was validated using triangulation techniques, both sources, and techniques. This research reveals that, through example, the school principal has successfully motivated students to behave religiously. Second, the school has successfully formed students' character by applying ethics, discipline, and care. This research provides implications regarding the importance of the role of example in school principals' leadership to motivate students to behave religiously. This shows that school principals can be solid examples of students practicing religious values.

Abstract

This study explores the development of professionalism among Generation Z (Gen Z) teachers in enhancing the quality of digital-based learning in elementary schools. The research focuses on their adaptability, digital competence, and innovative teaching strategies in the context of rapidly evolving educational practices. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with Gen Z teachers at SD Muhammadiyah and analyzed to reveal patterns of digital pedagogy. The findings indicate that Gen Z teachers demonstrate strong digital literacy, actively employing interactive presentation applications, online learning platforms, and educational social media to enrich the learning process. Their professionalism is reflected in their commitment to self-directed learning, collaboration with colleagues, and reflective teaching practices. Supporting factors for professional development include institutional support, participation in teacher learning communities, and continuous training opportunities. However, challenges remain, particularly limited school facilities and students’ diverse adaptability to digital environments. This study contributes to the discourse on teacher professionalism by emphasizing the pivotal role of Gen Z teachers in advancing digital pedagogy. It concludes that Gen Z teachers possess considerable potential to improve learning quality through digital innovation, yet sustained institutional support is crucial to maximize their impact.

Abstract

Abstract

Unggulan Aisyiyah Primary School, as a flagship Sekolah Penggerak in Bantul Regency, has consistently implemented differentiated instruction within the Merdeka Curriculum. However, while previous studies have widely examined differentiated instruction as a teaching strategy, limited research has focused on how it is managed systematically to foster student well-being in primary schools. This study addresses this gap by asking: How is differentiated instruction managed to enhance student well-being in a primary school context? The objective is to formulate a contextual management model that supports students’ cognitive, social, and emotional well-being. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, involving interviews with the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, two fourth-grade teachers, and two students, complemented by classroom observations and document analysis. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis procedures, including coding, theme development, and interpretation. The findings reveal that differentiated instruction management aligns with Tomlinson’s framework and encompasses four components: planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. Planning involves identifying student needs and collaborative module preparation through team teaching. Organizing focuses on flexible grouping and creating a positive learning environment. Implementation uses multi-method and multi-source instructional strategies tailored to student profiles. Supervision is conducted through coaching, counseling, and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement. This model highlights that effective differentiated instruction management can enhance student engagement, social interaction, and emotional security, thus strengthening student well-being. Strengthening implementation requires practical guidelines, sustained mentoring, time management, and collaboration with psychological support professionals.

Abstract

This study explores the role of school principals in creating a work environment that supports the psychological well-being of school members. However, it is often overlooked in leadership practices. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with principals, vice principals, teachers, and education staff. Thematic analysis revealed that transformational leadership practices—exemplary behaviour, spirituality-based motivation, openness to innovative ideas, and personal attention—contribute significantly to a harmonious and supportive work environment. Principals also facilitated career development, provided emotional support, and ensured adequate facilities, thereby strengthening psychological well-being, including positive interpersonal relationships, autonomy, personal growth, and a clear sense of life purpose. The findings highlight that integrating transformational leadership with spiritual values not only fosters a favourable school climate but also contributes to long-term teacher commitment and educational quality. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how leadership practices concretely influence psychosocial dynamics within schools, filling the gap in previous studies that often emphasise only stress and burnout perspectives.

Abstract

Purpose-Ecologically oriented leadership models are becoming increasingly important for fostering environmental awareness, integrating sustainability values into the curriculum, and building a school culture that values its ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the strategy, implementation, and impact of ecology-based principal leadership in building a sustainable school culture at SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta.Methodology-The approach employed was qualitative, utilizing a case study design that involved four key informants through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observations, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model, which involves the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion, by triangulating sources and methods to maintain credibility.Findings-The results of the study demonstrate that ecological leadership is implemented through an environmentally cultured vision and policies, the integration of ecological issues into the project-based curriculum, and the active participation of school residents in the Muda Wijaya Green School Community (MWGSC) program. Key supporting factors include the principal's commitment, collaboration among school residents, and external support, while constraints include limited resources and the adaptation of new students.Contribution-This model has been shown to have a positive impact on learning motivation, environmental care character, and the improvement of holistic education quality, while also highlighting the need for ecological leadership training and support for sustainable education policies in schools.
