Abstract

The government launched the Kartu Tani program to ensure a more accurate distribution of subsidised fertiliser. However, its implementation has faced several challenges, including low uptake of subsidised fertilisers by farmers. Previous studies indicate that farmers' responses to the Kartu Tani program have been less favorable. This study aims to analyse the relationship between agricultural extension activities and farmers' cognitive, affective, and conative responses in using the Kartu Tani. The research was conducted in Karya Bhakti I farmers' group in Gegesik Kidul village, Cirebon Regency, using a quantitative design. The respondents were 55 members of the Karya Bhakti I farmers group. Data were analysed descriptively and using Spearman rank correlation analysis. The results indicated a positive relationship between various indicators of agricultural extension activities and farmers' responses to the Kartu Tani program. These results highlight the crucial role of extension services in improving farmers' ability to effectively adopt the program. A more participatory approach to extension, in which farmers are actively involved in learning, identifying problems, and making decisions, has the potential to strengthen their understanding of, acceptance of, and perceived benefits from the Kartu Tani program. Improving this participatory dimension is essential for enhancing the program's long-term effectiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

Potato farming requires a lot of production costs, most of the farmers in Margamulya village are land tenants and 40% of farmers rely on capital from the city. This condition has an impact on the cultivated land cultivated by farmers.  The purpose of this study is to analyze the cost structure of potato farming based on the land area.   The research method used is the survey method, the data used consists of primary and secondary data, primary data is obtained from random sample farmers.  The analysis used is descriptive analysis and mathematical analysis which includes the proportion of cost components to total costs, revenue analysis and RC ratio.  The results of the study show: The production cost of potato farmers in Margamulya village is Rp 81,527,000 per hectare, 93 percent of the total cost is variable costs. The portion of seed costs is the largest (61%), followed by labor costs (21%) and then manure costs (16%) of the total variable costs.  The production costs of potato farmers with below-average land area are greater than those of farmers with above-average land area, thus farmers with above-average land area are more efficient in using production costs.

Abstract

Agrotourism is an alternative form of tourism that utilizes Indonesia’s natural wealth, such as agriculture, plantations, livestock, and forestry, as attractions for tourists. The number of visitors to Mupu Jeruk agrotourism has fluctuated, tending to stagnate with an average value of 0.0006%. This indicates the need for an effective marketing strategy, especially through the application of marketing mix models. This study aims to describe the implementation of the 7P marketing mix and to identify the 7P marketing mix variables which need improvement. In this study, the researcher used descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach and a case study method. The result shows that (1) The product strategy includes the availability of an orange-picking attraction for visitors and two additional facilities, namely a restaurant and a café. (2) The cost-based pricing strategy applied is still quite affordable for visitors. (3) The location strategy is good because of strategic location and easy access. (4) Promotional strategies via social media still need to be improved and promotional discounts on tourist prices must be consistently carried out. (5) By having a training process and providing appropriate SOPs to employees, the services and employee skills are rated well by visitors. (6) The service process planning consumer convenience, with various payment methods. (7) Mupu Jeruk supports consumer activities well, as seen from the physical facilities including toilets and mushola, but Mupu Jeruk needs to improve their parking area and also add signs in the entrance.

Abstract

Imports of raw materials for the potato industry show fluctuations and an increasing trend. As local breeders are unable to provide the demand for industrial seed potatoes, about 4,000 tons of industrial seed potatoes are still imported by Indonesia every year, which is one of the reasons for the low domestic production of industrial potatoes. To meet demand, measures are needed to increase industrial seed potato production.  A domestic university has been working to develop a new and improved industrial potato variety. Industrial potato variety "X" is an example of a superior variety that was successfully produced. The objective of this study was to measure farmers' satisfaction with the newly introduced industrial potato variety "X". Quantitative descriptive methodology was used in this study to determine the level of farmer satisfaction with seed potato variety "X" and the degree of congruence between the importance and implementation of the features of industrial seed potatoes as seen by farmers. Potato resistance to pests and diseases, harvest age, tuber size produced, tuber shape, flesh color and texture, storability, and productivity levels are the eight characteristics of industrial potatoes that will be used in this study. Data were examined through the application of Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) techniques. IPA findings indicated that traits related to harvest age and resistance to pests and diseases should be improved first. The results of the CSI assessment show that farmers are satisfied with industrial potato seed "X" with a CSI value of 79.68%, which falls into the satisfied criteria. This is because the high productivity and large tuber size are in line with farmers' expectations and interests.  Other advantages of "X" seed potatoes are their oval shape, high starch content, low moisture content, and color/texture that allows them to be processed into a variety of processed products, such as chips and french fries.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the cost structure of baby bean farming in Lembang District. This research was carried out by sampling using Cluster Random Sampling, so a sample size of 96 people was obtained from a total population of 2,349 baby bean farmers. The data was analyzed using the Revenue Cost Ration to analyze income. The results of the research show that the types of costs for baby bean farming show that the largest percentage of baby bean farming costs is labor costs with a value of Rp. 16,200,000 (35.34%). The high percentage of costs for this work requirement is due to the large number of workers needed in farming activities from land processing to harvest. The total costs for baby bean farming are IDR 45,834,601 per season per hectare with revenues of IDR 88,380,000. This means that the baby bean business is worth cultivating but its productivity must be further increased. Based on calculations, the baby bean farming income per hectare per season is IDR 42,545,399,- with an RC ratio of 1.93. An RC value > 1 indicates that the baby bean business carried out by farmers is profitable.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing a deficit in crude oil, necessitating the country to import oil from other nations. In response to this, the government has issued policies to replace fossil fuels with biodiesel, especially from palm oil. Palm oil biodiesel is identified as a crucial component in achieving the renewable energy blend targets set by the government. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to analyze the factors influencing the development of palm oil biodiesel. The results of the analysis of internal and external factors indicate that palm oil biodiesel has the strength to enhance the value-added of palm oil products. However, there are weaknesses related to uneven fuel supply storage. The most significant opportunities lie in a promising market due to the consistently high demand for fuel, but threats arise from palm oil production prioritized for export. Through a SWOT analysis, six strategies are derived to ensure the sustainability of biodiesel production, enhance the quality of operational facilities, and provide transparent information to the public. Subsequently, the SMART Goals analysis sets specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely targets for the new renewable energy blend through the specific development of palm oil biodiesel. This research focuses on concrete strategies and steps that can be implemented to optimize the role of palm oil biodiesel in achieving new renewable energy targets in Indonesia.

Abstract

West Java is one of the largest potato producers in Indonesia. Margamulya Village, Pengalengan District, Bandung Regency is the center for potato commodities in West Java Province. As a potato commodity center, of course the level of potato production in this area is very high, with this high production the resulting farming income should be able to improve the welfare of the farmers. However, the fact is that income from potato farming is still unstable. There are various factors that cause this phenomenon, one of which is the existence of risk factors in farming this commodity. Based on this background, this research aims to determine the effect of risks in potato production on farming income. This research uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis tools. Respondents in the research were 65 potato farmers in Margamulya Village, Pengalengan District, Bandung Regency. The results of this research reveal that the majority of potato farmers in Margamulya have a high level of risk in terms of seed costs, fertilizer costs (Cage, NPK, Urea and KCL), pesticide costs and labor costs, while Fungicide and Herbicide costs have a low level of risk. Based on the results of the regression analysis, 15 of the 17 production factors and production risks showed a significant influence on potato farming income. Then, of these 15 factors, all production risk factors have a significant effect on potato farming income, some have a positive effect and some have a negative effect.

Abstract

Water pollution, stemming from water hyacinth, impedes the essential penetration of sunlight vital for aquatic biota. UMKM Cirata Eceng Craft (CIECRA) is a pioneering creative business active in the water hyacinth industry. Regrettably, business growth has been hindered due to ineffective technology utilization, insufficiently skilled human resources, a lack of digital marketing implementation, and the absence of a strategically centralized production facility. This research seeks to assess the status of the Cirata Eceng Craft Creative Business (CIECRA) and formulate a development strategy for the enterprise. The research methodology employed a qualitative approach utilizing case study techniques, entailing data collection through observation, interviews, and literature review. Key internal and external factors were identified to develop alternative business strategies aligned with the SWOT matrix, quantified using the QSPM matrix. The research findings reveal that the primary strengths of CIECRA MSMEs are their eco-friendly products and active participation in exhibitions/bazaars. Conversely, the scarcity of skilled human resources represents a major weakness. The emergence of e-commerce and social media as marketing platforms poses both an opportunity and a threat, as numerous similar businesses have already entered these arenas. Presently, CIECRA MSMEs occupy quadrant V, indicating the growth and development phase. In line with the outcome of the SWOT analysis, we propose four key strategies: 1) Optimization of online marketing through establishing a dedicated marketing division, 2) Consumer education on eco-friendly products via collaboration with influencers or social media video campaigns, 3) Exploration of alternative markets or business models to achieve broader segmentation, and 4) Investment in research and product development in partnership with relevant government agencies to foster innovation.
