Abstract

The change in leadership from Donald Trump to Joe Biden brought a new policy direction for the United States. One of them is the Paris Agreement. Biden's concern for the issue of climate change led the United States to change its foreign policy in the Paris Agreement, namely ratification after it was previously issued during the Trump administration. This study presents the formulation of the problem "How can changes in US foreign policy in the Paris Agreement in the era of Joe Biden be seen through green theory?". Through the formulation of the problem, this study explains how green theory sees changes in US foreign policy in the Paris Agreement during the reign of Joe Biden. This research is a qualitative type with explanatory data analysis techniques. In conducting research, green theory and the Holsti foreign policy analysis model are used to explain how the role of the leader as the main actor influences the making of a country's foreign policy. This research found that the difference in policy focus between Trump and Biden was a factor in the change in US foreign policy in the Paris Agreement during the reign of Joe Biden.

Abstract

The government continues to improve to provide quality Islamic higher education services. One of the efforts made is to change the institutional status of the State Islamic Religious University (PTKIN) from the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) to the State Islamic University (UIN). With the change of status to UIN, it is hoped that PTKIN will be able to answer concerns related to the dichotomy of science, radicalism, intolerance, and terrorism. However, in changing the status of IAIN to UIN, there are negative issues, among others: the impression of being forced, the instantiation of policies, and the unpreparedness of Islamic universities to hold the status of universities. Therefore, the perception of the organization as one of the essential factors determining the success of the status change must get the attention of the policymakers. By looking further at the organization's perception, it will get a picture of the organization's readiness to face the transformation from IAIN to UIN. Through a descriptive approach and mix-methods, the researchers looked further at how the organization's perception of the status transfer from IAIN Purwokerto to UIN SAIZU Purwokerto. The study results indicate that the organization's perception shows a good or high category. Members of the organization have a sense of optimism and great hope that UIN SAIZU Purwokerto can develop institutionally and scientifically. On the other hand, increasing the quantity and quality of human resources and infrastructure is homework that Islamic universities must immediately complete, in this case, UIN SAIZU Purwokerto.

Abstract

Myanmar’s military regime, namely Tatmadaw, has taken over political influence for a lengthy amount of time, whether directly or indirectly. On the 1st February 2021, Tatmadaw launched a coup to once again take over leadership after denouncing the election results won by the National League for Democracy. With Tatmadaw back in leadership, democratization in Myanmar not only regressed, but also proved difficult to return to its original state. Additionally, Myanmar still has not been fully democratic even though it has participated in the Bali Democratic Forum because of Tatmadaw’s large dominance. After the coup was launched in 2021, Myanmar was not invited to BDF’s 14th meeting. This research will explain the effects of BDF’S Constructive Engagement on Myanmar’s democratic transition process. This research will use qualitative and explanative methods, which means that it will answer the research question using narrations and relevant data. This research will also use Darren Hawkins’ theory of democratization with the assistance of Huntington and McFaul. By using these theories, the answer found is that the effects of BDF on Myanmar’s democratic transition have not manifested because most of BDF’s recommendations are aimed towards the governments, but not towards the civil society.

Abstract

Wannacry Ransomware epidemics have attacked several high-profile companies in European Union creating an EU-wide cybersecurity crisis in the digital economy and social order. In response, European Union established an appropriate regulation in cybercrime namely The Cybersecurity Act. The Act as an international regime does not only gives a permanent mandate that strengthens European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) but also establishes The EU Cybersecurity Certification Scheme in order to increase cybersecurity and build cyber resilience in the European Union Digital Single Market. This paper investigates how does the Cybersecurity Act as a business law in maintaining cybersecurity aspect on the European Union Digital Single Market through the theory of neoliberal institutionalism as a framework of thinking. After a series of conduction of literature reviews, this research argues that The Cybersecurity Act would be an appropriate regulation in dealing with the cybersecurity crisis in the digitalized market order. The standardization in The EU Cybersecurity Certification Scheme regulated by The Cybersecurity Act would improve cybersecurity and build cyber resilience in the European Union Digital Single Market.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of the protocol function in providing regional leadership services. Setting the tone, following manners, and acting respectfully—as a sign of respect for one's position or position in the state, government, or society—are examples of actions related to maintaining order during state-sponsored events. The focus of this research also looks at the roles and tasks of the protocol in supporting the activities of regional leaders in Batang Regency. The protocol has the responsibility of ensuring that the leader's activities/events are facilitated by providing services directly related to the leader's activities. In practice, the protocol is a multifunctional task because it carries out tasks as a planner, including program plans to regulatory arrangements. This includes their duties and roles as guides, lobbyists, general assistants, managers and waiters serving dignitaries or guests. This study applies the concept of "Swot Analysis", a qualitative descriptive research with primary data sources obtained from informant interviews, observation and documentation from secondary sources. From the conclusion of this article, the lack of communication is the dominant factor that has the potential to change and even thwart events that have been planned in advance. The researcher argues that there is a need for written standard arrangements that need to be agreed upon by all interested parties (stakeholders) that are detailed but flexible in implementation in the field

Abstract

Globalisation causes complexity in the determination of the origin of goods. The basic concept of the rule of origin is to identify the "nationality" of goods. In this regard, the "nationality" of goods imposes the legal consequence of trade policy instruments that are applied to the goods. In order to determine such "nationality',) there are legal or administrative requirements that must be fulfilled by the traders, known as origin criteria. There are various types of preferential rules of origin depending on the agreement of the contracting parties under the Regional Integration Agreements, or RIAs. The rules of origin can be different from country to country since here is no binding agreement or international standard governing preferential rules of origin. The rules of origin govern cross border goods movement in international trade relations. The rules of origin are not applied to goods or products that are manufactured and sold inside the country itself The rules of origin influence investment and production decisions. The production decision includes the "production factor" and "profit maximising firms': One of the production factors is the source materials of the goods. Production efficiency is influenced by the use of good quality materials with the lowest price. This factor triggers the establishment of the free trade agreement or preferential trade agreement between potential trading partners.
