Abstract

This study investigates the impact of gamification on student engagement, learning outcomes, and attitudes towards mathematics in middle school education. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, 200 students were divided into an experimental group, which engaged with a gamified learning platform, and a control group, which followed a traditional curriculum. Pre-test and post-test measures of engagement, academic performance, and attitudes were collected using the Student Engagement Scale (SES), Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT), and Mathematics Attitude Inventory (MAI). The results indicated significant improvements in the experimental group's engagement levels, academic performance, and attitudes towards mathematics compared to the control group. These findings suggest that gamification can effectively enhance educational experiences and outcomes in mathematics by making learning more interactive and motivating. The study underscores the potential of gamification as a valuable pedagogical tool in mathematics education, though further research is recommended to explore its long-term effects and broader applicability.

Abstract

The existence of ‘Mbah Brambang’ paper puppets has become a valuable cultural asset for Wirun Village in Mojolaban, Sukoharjo Regency. Puppet craftsmen face economic challenges in the modern era as sales competition is carried out through online platforms. However, they are not very proficient in conducting online sales and primarily rely on offline transactions. It creates an effect such as declining online sales and a lack of offline customer presence. Addressing these challenges, the community service team provides training and assistance in increasing online sales and tips for increasing offline sales so that the existence of UMKM wayang kertas, which has been around for a long time, continues to exist. The community service was carried out through presentations, discussions, and demonstrations of the use of Shopee sales media. As a result, the puppet craftsmen now have an online shop on Shopee platform, and they are collaborating with the local youth group to jointly create a documentary video related to the history of the paper puppet’s existence. The use of Shopee as an online sales tool was also monitored and assisted by the community service team for several months, thus any difficulties could be immediately resolved. In this way, the craftsmen do not experience certain obstacles in online sales activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara mood dengan perfectionism-consumer decision making pada perempuan paruh baya di department store. Pengukuran tentang perfeksionisme dilakukan dengan alat ukur Consumer Style Inventory yang disusun oleh Sproles dan Kendall (Bandara, 2014), Sedangkan pada skala mood, peneliti menggunakan skala brief mood introspection scale (BMIS) yang disusun oleh Mayer dan Gaschke (1988). Setelah melakukan uji hipotesis pada 105 responden, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis null dalam penelitian ini ditolak. Artinya, terdapat hubungan antara mood dengan perfectionism-consumer decision making pada perempuan paruh baya di department store. Keywords: perfeksionisme, mood, paruh baya

Abstract

This study investigates the application of educational technology and teacher competence in enhancing teaching effectiveness within the Islamic religious education curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative analysis approach, data were collected from a sample of 180 respondents using a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. The data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings reveal that the relationships between educational technology and teaching effectiveness (H1), teacher competence and teaching effectiveness (H2), as well as teaching effectiveness and the Islamic education curriculum (H3), are all positive and significant. These results underscore the critical role of both educational technology and teacher competence in improving teaching effectiveness, which in turn positively impacts the Islamic education curriculum. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and educators aiming to enhance the quality of Islamic religious education through the strategic application of educational technology and the development of teacher competencies.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of multimedia integration in teaching Islamic religion and its impact on student satisfaction with interactive learning in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 160 students through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings indicate that multimedia integration significantly enhances the effectiveness of teaching Islamic religion (Path Coefficient = 0.625, p < 0.001), improves student satisfaction (Path Coefficient = 0.664, p < 0.001), and promotes interactive learning (Path Coefficient = 0.686, p < 0.001). Additionally, effective teaching of Islamic religion positively influences interactive learning (Path Coefficient = 0.403, p < 0.001), and higher student satisfaction contributes to more interactive learning experiences (Path Coefficient = 0.234, p = 0.003). The findings emphasize the significance of incorporating multimedia technologies in religious education to provide captivating and efficient learning settings. These findings provide significant knowledge for educators and policymakers who seek to improve the standard of religious teaching in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature on entrepreneurship education, examining research trends, thematic clusters, research opportunities, and author collaboration from 2014 to 2018. Utilizing VOSviewer, the study identifies key themes and shifts in academic focus over the years, with an emphasis on topics such as entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, social entrepreneurship education, gender dynamics, and self-efficacy. The analysis highlights the central role of entrepreneurship education within the broader educational discourse and its integration into higher education frameworks. Notable research clusters led by influential scholars such as Alain Fayolle and Harry Matlay are mapped, revealing strong internal collaborations and suggesting potential for increased cross-disciplinary research. The findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary approaches, the integration of technology in educational practices, and the development of inclusive programs tailored to diverse demographics. This study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers aiming to enhance the effectiveness and reach of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

This study explores the intellectual structure of Islamic education within the context of distance learning through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. By mapping key themes, influential authors, and research trends, this research provides a detailed overview of the scholarly discourse and identifies emerging patterns and challenges. The thematic clusters identified include strategic approaches to digital pedagogy, the integration of multimedia resources, and the adaptation of traditional Islamic educational institutions to modern technologies. The analysis highlights significant research trends towards digital transformation and modernization while emphasizing the need to balance these with traditional educational values. Additionally, the study identifies opportunities for future research in developing culturally appropriate digital content and overcoming barriers such as the digital divide. The network of author collaborations reveals a segmented landscape with potential for increased inter-group cooperation. Overall, this research offers valuable insights into the evolving field of Islamic education and distance learning, guiding future studies and practical applications.n.

Abstract

Image classification, the process of categorizing and labeling groups of pixels or vectors within an image based on specific rules, is continuously developed by many researchers in the world to solve many problems. One of those problems is x-ray image classification to determine lung diseases. This research tries to solve the problem of classifying COVID-19, pneumonia, and healthy lungs using x-ray images. The image datasets were collected from several sources. This research aims to build a reliable and robust Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) enhanced with Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) mechanism. CNN is used to do the feature extraction and the classification, whereas CBAM is used to improve the performance of the CNN by focusing on the important features in given data. Research methods are done through extensive data selection, preprocessing, and parameter tuning to achieve a well-performing model. While there is still a lack of research on x-ray classification using the attention mechanism, this research proposes it as the main method. This research also does a further experiment on the effect of the imbalanced dataset on the model. The evaluation is done using a cross-validation method. This research results reach 97.74% of accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score. This research concludes that CBAM increases the performance of a CNN module. Using a larger dataset can be beneficial in this kind of research as well as evaluation by radiologists.
