Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterlibatan gender dalam top management pada perguruan tinggi negeri di Indonesia. Studi ini menyajikan tabulasi data untuk menilai distribusi gender dalam top management, khususnya posisi rektor. Menggunakan metode pengumpulan data sekunder dari data Pangkalan Data Pendidikan Tinggi (PDDIKTI) atau website resmi universitas, atau berita yang menyediakan informasi terbuka terkait gelar akademik, usia, dan gender rektor-rektor universitas negeri di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini  mengungkap disparitas gender dengan hanya 11.83% rektor perempuan dari total 93 rektor yang diobservasi, menunjukan dominasi laki-laki yang signifikan. Pada sisi lain, ketika dilakukan pengujian chi-square tidak menunjukkan adanya hubungan ketidakseimbangan gender yang signifikan dari segi kualifikasi akademik atau distribusi geografis dengan kesempatan menjadi rektor. Meskipun tidak ada bukti statistik yang mengindikasikan hubungan antara gender dan peluang karir sebagai rektor, penelitian menyarankan kebutuhan melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang faktor-faktor yang menghambat inklusi gender pada top management perguruan tinggi negeri. Hal lain yang perlu menjadi pertimbangkan juga yakni pengembangan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan inklusivitas gender dan memberikan kesempatan yang lebih luas bagi rektor berusia lebih muda pada sektor pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the strategy of a teenager with progeria to represent his identity and ideology through the analysis of transitivity and critical discourse analysis. This research applied a qualitative descriptive study. The data is taken from TEDx Talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36m1o-tM05g entitled My philosophy for a happy life. The storyteller named Sam Bern told his life philosophy despite his disability due progeria disease. This study applied Fairclough’s approach (1989) on critical discourse analysis incorporating with Hallyday & Matthiessen’s SFL (2004) to the analysis of transitivity and discourse practice. The study found that the storyteller frequently used relational process with 39.79%, material process with 33.16%, and mental process with 24.62%. In relational process, the storyteller bravely defined himself, his condition, his sickness, and his struggle against progeria. Through material process, he represented himself as a dynamic and active person that even his disease or physical disability could not hinder him from doing what he could do. The study also found that Sam Bern showed his success in accepting himself as a child with progeria by trying to negotiate his identity and resilience. The implication of this study suggests that storytelling can be a powerful pedagogical resource for teachers and educators to promote resilience, identity formation, and positive values among students, particularly in contexts where personal challenges and diversity need to be addressed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media pembelajaran Quizwhizzer untuk memberikan peningakatan hasil belajar bahasa Mandarin di SMA “X”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pretest-posttest control group, melibatkan dua kelas sebagai sampel, yaitu kelas kontrol (XI-IPS) dan kelas eksperimen (XI-IPAS). Kelas kontrol menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional yaitu menggunakan workbook dan kelas eksperimen menggunakan media Quizwhizzer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun penggunaan Quizwhizzer mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menarik dan meningkatkan antusiasme siswa, namun tidak memberikan peningkatansignifikan terhadap hasil belajar dibandingkan dengan media pembelajaran konvensional yang menggunakan workbook. Hasil ini dibuktikan oleh rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen yang masih berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), sementara kelas kontrol, meskipun juga masih di bawah KKM, tetapi tetap menunjukkan capaian nilai yang lebih tinggi. Dengandemikian, Quizwhizzer lebih tepat digunakan sebagai media pendukung proses pembelajaran, bukan sebagai pengganti metode pembelajaran utama.

Abstract

Di dunia pendidikan, guru-guru sering memanfaatkan berbagai macam alat bantu untuk mendampingi siswa belajar. Karena itu, studi ini dilakukan di sebuah sekolah di Surabaya bernama SMP YPPI-1. Peneliti memilih media permainan edukasi Flashcard World sebagai alat utama. Dengan riset ini, mereka bisa menilai apakah media itu benar-benar berguna atau tidak. Siswa kelas 7B dijadikan peserta utama.Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif, dengan hanya satu alat pengukuran, yakni tes akhir. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa menggunakan media Flashcard World itu cara yang ampuh buat bantu siswa kelas 7B SMP YPPI 1 Surabaya ulang kosakata mereka

Abstract

Efektivitas Media Audio Visual Animasi Bahasa Mandarin Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Motorik Halus Terhadap Murid TK B Sekolah X Surabaya, Rinoa Revinska, Budi Hermawan, Universitas Widya Kartika, Dalam penelitian kali ini, penulis ingin mengetahui keefektivitasan media audio visual animasi bahasa mandarin dalam meningkatkan keterampilan motorik haluspada murid TK B Sekolah X Surabaya. Penulis menyiapkan audio visual animasi yang sesuai dengan tema pembelajaran dan memberikan aktivitas untuk keterampilan motorik halus, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan cara melakukan observasi terhadap murid dan wawancara terhadap guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa murid TK B Sekolah X Surabaya efektif dalam menggunakan media audio visual animasi bahasa mandarin dalam meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus, murid TK B yang mencapai kategori sangat baik sebanyak 16%, baik sebanyak 49%, cukup baik sebanyak 22%, perlu pendampingan sebanyak 8% dan yang tidak datang sebanyak 5%. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual animasi efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus terhadap murid TK B Sekolah X Surabaya.

Abstract

Development of Tourism Village Storytelling through Drama Performances and the Umbul Sidomulyo Cultural Event 2025. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to develop and disseminate storytelling techniques in Umbul Sidomulyo Tourism Village through drama performances and the Umbul Sidomulyo Cultural Event 2025. Storytelling was selected as an effective tourism communication medium to enhance visitor experiences and strengthen the cultural identity of the tourism village. The implementation methods included material preparation, training for tourism stakeholders, implementation during the cultural event, and evaluation. The results demonstrate improvements in guides’ skills in delivering tourism narratives, strong community enthusiasm, and increased tourist visitation interest. This program contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of Umbul Sidomulyo Tourism Village as a destination based on cultural values and local narratives.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Digital Multimodal Composing (DMC) in an Indonesian EFL context, with particular attention to students’ composing processes and their application of the Grammar of Visual Design (GVD). Adopting a qualitative case study design, the study was conducted over one academic semester and integrated the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) with multimodal instruction. The participants were twenty-eight undergraduate students enrolled in an English Education program who worked in four groups to produce four digital posters as the final outcome of the Independent Construction stage. All posters were designed using the Canva application and represented different genres, including narrative, informative, and persuasive texts. Data were collected through classroom video recordings, field notes, and semi-structured interviews with six purposively selected students. The findings show that students were able to integrate visual, verbal, and spatial modes in their poster designs, demonstrating an emerging understanding of representational, interactional, and compositional meanings. While students initially experienced difficulties in balancing modes and making deliberate design choices, scaffolded instruction through the GBA stages supported their gradual development of multimodal awareness. The posters illustrate students’ ability to apply GVD principles in culturally relevant and socially meaningful contexts, highlighting the pedagogical value of DMC for fostering digital literacy, creative expression, and genre awareness in EFL learning.Keywords: Digital Literacy, DMC, EFL Classroom, GBA

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Mandarin siswa melalui penerapan metode Project Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media AI-Heyzine Flipbook pada siswa kelas VIII B SMP Santo Borromeus Purbalingga. Penelitian menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Media AI-Heyzine Flipbook digunakan sebagai sumber belajar yang memuat teks percakapan, kosakata, audio pelafalan, serta panduan proyek untuk mendukung tahapan PBL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL berjalan efektif dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa mandarin siswa dan partisipasi siswa dalam penyusunan naskah dan pembuatan video percakapan. Kemampuan berbicara siswa mengalami peningkatan signifikan dari pra-siklus hingga siklus II. Rata-rata nilai berbicara meningkat dari 67 (28,5% tuntas) pada pra-siklus menjadi 73,97 (47,6% tuntas) pada siklus I, dan mencapai 82,73(90,4% tuntas) pada siklus II. Perhitungan N-Gain juga mendukung temuan ini. N-Gain siklus I sebesar 0,21 (rendah) dan meningkat menjadi 0,48 (sedang) pada siklus II, yang menunjukkan efektivitas penerapan PBL berbantuan media digital dalam meningkatkan performa berbicara siswa. Dengan demikian, metode Project Based Learning berbantuan AI-Heyzine Flipbook terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Mandarin siswa, khususnya pada aspek pengucapan (发音), tata bahasa (语法), kosakata (词汇), dan kelancaran (流利度).

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of peer tutoring in enhancing early reading skills among second-grade students with reading difficulties at Ibnu Sina Islamic Elementary School, Bandung. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, adapted from Kemmis & McTaggart, and conducted in two cycles, this investigation used a mixed-method approach to ensure a comprehensive picture regarding the intervention's impact on early literacy competencies and the social dynamics of learning. Data collection was made through a pre-test-post-test, structured observation, and reflective interviews. Statistical analysis showed that the average rise in reading scores reached 55%, and the results of the paired t-test indicated that this increase was significant (p < 0.05). Qualitative data show that the increasing engagement, self-confidence, and quality of the interaction between tutors and tutees are in tune with the latest literature, which highlights that peer tutoring is an effective practice to enhance academic achievement, self-regulation, and social-emotional support within elementary education settings. This study concludes that peer tutoring can serve as a low-cost and highly relevant instructional strategy for addressing early reading difficulties in elementary school settings, and it recommends strengthening tutor training and improving the quality of teacher scaffolding for program sustainability.

Abstract

Background: Reading comprehension is a core component of EFL learning, yet many secondary classrooms still rely on teacher-centered instruction that limits interaction, engagement, and deeper interpretation of texts. Recent pedagogical perspectives suggest that collaborative classroom interaction can strengthen students’ comprehension and critical reading development. Aims: This study investigates how interaction-driven instructional practices support reading comprehension development in EFL classrooms, with particular attention to collaborative meaning-making during reading activities. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of instructional documents. Participants were selected purposively based on their involvement in interactive reading instruction. The data were analyzed using thematic coding and interpretative analysis. Results: The findings show that collaborative discussion and guided questioning increased student participation and supported deeper interpretation of texts. Students became more confident in expressing ideas and negotiating meaning with peers. Teachers also reported that interactive activities reduced reading anxiety and created a more supportive learning environment. However, differences in vocabulary mastery and learning motivation influenced the level of participation. Conclusion: Interaction-driven pedagogy plays an important role in improving reading comprehension in EFL classrooms by promoting collaborative meaning-making, reflective engagement, and active participation. The study highlights the value of structured interaction and scaffolded discussion in creating more inclusive, meaningful, and pedagogically effective reading instruction in secondary English education.
