Abstract

Teori konstruktivisme memainkan peran penting dalam pembelajaran berbasis STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) bagi anak usia dini. Pendekatan ini menekankan bahwa anak-anak membangun pengetahuan mereka melalui interaksi sosial dan eksplorasi aktif di lingkungan belajar. Artikel ini mengkaji bagaimana integrasi teori konstruktivisme dalam pembelajaran STEAM dapat mendukung perkembangan keterampilan sosial, kognitif, dan pemecahan masalah pada anak usia dini. Model pembelajaran ini dikembangkan melalui pendekatan loose parts dan tematik kemaritiman untuk meningkatkan minat terhadap sains, matematika dan teknologi serta keterampilan memecahkan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket untuk mengobservasi penilaian terhadap perkembangan aspek kemampuan kognitif, keterampilan sosial dan pemecahan masalah yang kemudian dikembangkan menjadi 20 sub indikator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan sosial, kognitif, dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah sederhana pada anak-anak di PAUD Semai Harapan Bangsa, TK ABA Tanjung dan TK Kusuma Bangsa melalui pembelajaran STEAM dengan mengintegrasikan konsep konstruktivisme dan menggunakan media loose parts pada tematik kemaritiman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan proses sains siswa antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Collaborative Inquiry Problem Based Learning (CIPBL) dan strategi konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi experiment dengan non equivalent control group posttest-only design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Umum di MAN Karangasem yang tidak dipilih secara acak. Metode penelitian meliputi tes uraian dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggambarkan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan efektivitas CIPBL, serta menggunakan analisis statistik untuk menguji hipotesis perbedaan keterampilan proses sains antara kedua strategi tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan rata-rata total 87,278 (sangat baik) dan nilai Indeks Efektivitas (IE) 100% dalam kategori sangat baik. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan keterampilan proses sains antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan strategi CIPBL dan strategi konvensional. Hasil uji t yang digunakan adalah asumsi varian homogen, menghasilkan t hitung = -6,452 dengan signifikansi 0,0001 (lebih kecil dari 0,0001). Temuan ini mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan kolaboratif, serta mendorong penelitian lanjutan. CIPBL bisa menjadi alternatif lebih baik dibanding metode konvensional, meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sains.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the Guided Inquiry approach in enhancing critical thinking skills, learning motivation, conceptual understanding, and student learning outcomes in chemistry education. Utilizing the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research reviews various relevant studies from international and national databases such as Scopus, ERIC, and SINTA, employing focused keywords. The analyzed articles were selected based on inclusion criteria that encompassed topic relevance and the availability of empirical data, resulting in 27 final articles for further analysis. The qualitative analysis results indicate that Guided Inquiry not only improves students' conceptual understanding of chemistry concepts but also strengthens critical thinking skills and learning motivation. Quantitative findings demonstrate a pattern of increased effectiveness across various educational levels, with more significant results observed at the secondary education level compared to higher education. Several factors, such as the role of teacher facilitation and student readiness, were also identified as important influences on the success of this approach. This study recommends the integration of the Guided Inquiry approach into the chemistry education curriculum, accompanied by the development of technology-based modules and continuous training for educators, to maximize the potential for constructive learning.

Abstract

This study systematically examines the integration of constructivist and inquirybased learning (IBL) strategies in chemistry education, emphasizing their transformative potential for enhancing student engagement, conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Utilizing a systematic review methodology, 30 peer reviewed articles from credible databases such as Scopus and Web of Science were analyzed. The findings reveal that gamification, virtual reality (VR), molecular visualization, and guided inquiry significantly improve learning outcomes by contextualizing abstract concepts and fostering active participation. Gamification and VR were particularly effective at the high school and tertiary education levels, respectively, while inquiry based laboratory activities enhanced higher-order thinking skills. The analysis highlights the theoretical alignment of these strategies with constructivist principles and their practical application in modern pedagogy. Despite their benefits, challenges such as resource limitations and insufficient teacher training persist, hindering wider adoption. Addressing these barriers through professional development, resource investment, and innovative curriculum design is essential for maximizing the impact of constructivist and IBL approaches. This study provides actionable recommendations for educators, policymakers, and researchers, advocating for systemic changes to advance chemistry education in diverse learning contexts. By combining theoretical insights with practical applications, this research underscores the importance of active, inquiry driven learning environments for preparing students to excel in STEM fields.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of experiential learning that utilizes the local wisdom of Nias in education. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving interviews and observations in several schools in Nias. The results indicate that the integration of local wisdom in the learning process can enhance student motivation and engagement, as well as strengthen their understanding of cultural identity. However, this research also identifies challenges, such as limited resources and insufficient training for teachers. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of leveraging local wisdom to create a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also proud of their culture. Recommendations include enhancing teacher training and developing relevant educational resources.

Abstract

This study aims to validate concept understanding instruments on cell material for high school students using Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI). Instrument validation was conducted by five experts from three different universities. The results showed that most of the items had CVR and CVI values that met the established validity criteria, only a few items were declared invalid and needed to be revised or deleted. Furthermore, the results of the reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha obtained a value of 0.913 which indicates that this instrument has excellent reliability. This valid and reliable instrument can be used by biology teachers in high school to measure students' concept understanding of cell material. The use of this instrument is expected to help identify weak areas of student understanding and design more effective learning strategies. This research supports the importance of instrument validation to ensure the accuracy of measurement results and increase teacher and student confidence in the results obtained. Thus, the instrument that has been developed is expected to contribute significantly to improving the quality of biology learning in high school.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest biodiversity in the world. However, this high diversity requires individual awareness and responsibility to maintain and utilize it sustainably. Therefore, biodiversity literacy is an important element, especially for students as prospective future generations who will play a role in natural resource management in the future. This study aims to evaluate the level of biodiversity literacy of students of the Biology study program at the University of Education Mandalika, by assessing six dimensions of biodiversity literacy: Conservation and Importance of Biodiversity (CIB), Ethics and Biodiversity (EB), Sustainability and Biodiversity (SB), Taking Action to Protect Biodiversity (TAPB), Biodiversity and Utility (BU), and Conservation and Importance of Species (CIS).  The method used was quantitative descriptive, involving 50 students as respondents. The instrument used consisted of 27 items that were analyzed using One Way ANOVA to determine the average score and significant differences based on gender and student scores. The results showed that the average score of biodiversity literacy obtained a score of 2.08 with a less significant category (Low Biodiversity Literacy). Most of the indicators are at an average value below 2.50, only a small number of indicators have an average value above 2.50. In the CIB dimension, only 3 indicators have an average value of > 2.50 out of 5 indicators. In the TAPB dimension, only 1 indicator has an average > 2.50. While in other dimensions, the average value < 2.50. In addition, there was no significant difference in student scores based on gender. Thus, student biodiversity literacy still needs to be improved, especially in the aspects of real action and individual responsibility.

Abstract

melakukan analisis kebutuhan untuk pengembangan dan penyusunan modul inkuri berbasis pertanyaan (MIBP). MIBP disusun untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran sains agar dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep biologi, keterampilan proses sains, dan kemampuan berpikir siswa SMP. Pengembangan MIBP menggunakan model ADDIE. Prosedur pengembangan terdiri dari 5 tahap, yaitu 1) Menganalisis, 2) Mendisain, 3) Mengembangkan dan produksi, 4) Mengimplementasikan, dan 5) Mengevaluasi. Penelitian dilakukan dalam waktu 3 tahun. Pada tahun pertama ini dilakukan analisis kebutuhan dan mendisain MIBP. Subjek penelitian adalah guru IPA SMP Negeri dan Swasta di Kecamatan Buleleng. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, penyebaran angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan interpretatif. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa kurikulum yang digunakan di SMPN 1,SMPN 2, dan SMPN 4 adalah kurikulum 2013, sedangkan di SMP lainnya masih menggunakan kurikulum 2006. Kemampuan guru bertanya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains, penguasaan konsep, dan kemampuan berpikir belum optimal. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan guru 85,8 persen bersifat konvergen, dan 14,2 persen bersifat divergen. Berdasarkan pertanyaan menurut Taksonomi Bloom, pertanyaan yang diajukan guru 74,4 persen pertanyaan ingatan, 22,6 persen pemahaman, 2,68 persen aplikasi, dan 0,32 persen analisis. Salah satu yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru adalah memfasilitasi pembelajarannya dengan MIBP. Dari karakteristik perkembangan kognitifnya, siswa SMP dapat dibelajarkan dengan strategi inkuiri, dan guru setuju dengan pengembangan MIBP. Kata kunci: Kemampuan berpikir, keterampilan proses sains, Modul Inkuiri Berbasis Pertanyaan, penguasaan konsep Pertanyaan, penguasaan konsep Abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for the development and preparation of question-based inquiry module (QBIM). QBIM was designed conceiv to facilitate the learning of science in order to improve the students understanding of biological concept, science process skills, and the ability to think of junior high school students. The module development used ADDIE model. The procedure development consisted of 5 stages, namely 1) Analyze, 2) Design, 3) Develop and production, 4) Implement, and 5) Evaluate. The research carried out within 3 years. In the first year the need analysis and design QBIM were carried out. The subject of research were science teachers at goverment and private high schools in Buleleng District. Data were collected by interview, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was performed descriptively and interpretatively. From the analysis it was found that the curriculum used at junior high school 1, 2, and 4 is curriculum 2013, while in the other junior high school the curriculum in use is still curriculum 2006. The ability of teachers to question ask to improve science process skills, mastery of concepts, and the ability to think is not yet optimal. It is shown from the type of questions teachers performed that is convergent 85.8 percent, and 14.2 percent divergence. Based on the questions according to Bloom's Taxonomy, questions that should be proposed by teachers 74.4 percent retention, 22.6 percent understanding, 2.68 percent application, and 0.32 percent analysis. One think that can be done to improve the ability of the teacher is to facilitate learning by QBIM. From the characteristics of cognitive development , junior high school students can be taught with the strategy of inquiry, and the teachers agree with QBIM development. Abstract

Teenagers today have a very permissive nature related to sex before marriage, giving rise to various health problems in adolescents. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of using youth health booklets in education to strengthen the character of healthy living behaviors in junior high school students. This type of research is quasi-experimental, with the research design being a randomized posttest-only control group design. The research sample was students who took part in the extracurricular activities of the AIDS and Drug Concern Student Group (KSPAN), totaling 58 people. The data collection method uses self-assessment and observation, and self-assessment sheets. Objective tests and descriptions measure students' knowledge of healthy lifestyles through questionnaires. The results showed that students who demonstrated mastery of the concept of a healthy lifestyle were in the good and very good categories of 96.67%, showed student responses in the good (27%) and very good (73%) categories, and showed good behavior (40%) and very good by 60%. The use of youth health booklets can strengthen the healthy behavior of junior high school students. This research implies that students are expected to be able to improve the application of clean and healthy living behaviors in everyday life.

Abstract

Guru-guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) sekolah mitra, yang tergabung dalam gugus VIII Kecamatan Kubutambahan Kabupaten Buleleng yang terdiri dari lima SD, yaitu: SD 1 Pakisan 1, SD 2 Kelandis, SD 3 Pakisan 3, SD 4 Pakisan 2 dan SD 5 Mengandang mengalami permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis eksperimen sesuai dengan tuntutan stándar proses dan kurikulum. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi dan kajian mendalam terhadap permasalahan dan akar permasalahan bersama dengan guru mitra dan kepala sekolah, maka disepakati pemecahan masalah berupa kegiatan pelatihan dengan tujuan: (1) mengembangkan media pembelajaran IPA berbasis eksperimen yang dilengkapi perangkat pembelajaran seperti Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), pembuatan media pembelajan dan pedoman cara menggunakan media pembelajaran IPA SD yang dibuat, (2) meningkatkan keterampilan guru membuat media IPA berbasis eksperimen dan mengimplementasikannyadalam pembelajaran IPA. Target luaran pada kegiatan ini adalah: (1) Perangkat pendukung pembelajaran (RPP dan LKS) yang dilengkapi dengan media pembelajaran IPA SD berbasis eksperimen serta pedomannya untuk mendukung pembelajaran IPA SD, (3) Artikel pengembangan media pembelajaran IPA berbasis eksperimen.Untuk mencapai tujuan dan target tersebut, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan guru mitra dalam merancang dan membuat media pembelajaran IPA SD berbasis eksperimen. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan untuk membantu guru menyelesaikan produk yang menjadi target kegiatan ini dan dapat mengimplementasikannya di kelas. Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan dilakukan secara bertahap dan terintegrasi.Produkutama dari kegiatan P2M ini adalah media pembelajaran IPA SD berupa LKS eksperimen sederhana berbasis pertanyaan. Hasil evaluasi pelaksanaan P2M ini menunjukkan bahwa P2M ini bermanfaat untuk menunjang proses pembelajaran IPA di SD.
