Abstract

Abstract

In this context, organic tolerance which was developed by pesantren is a certainty. Also, the management of harmony has been implemented professionally. The pesantren does not emphasize religious symbols, but it concerns the essence of Islamic orthodoxy. Abstract

The coming of  industrialization era  is irreversible, albeit the rejection by some. Among Muslims, industrialization  is responded differently; some welcome while some others reject uncritically the logics behind the industrialization process. Whether like ordislike, sooner or later, Muslims in the end must live by industrialization era. What the Muslims need  in  response  to  the coming of   industrialization era  is  to  formulate a workable blue-print with which Muslims feel comfortable as an epistemological foundation of the Muslim  faith.  Such a blue-print  is  expected  to be able  to cope with  the ontological, epistemological and  axiological problems  created by  existing  industrialization process.Industrialization process, in my argument, should have not deprived the existential being of   the Muslim  society. The  fact  is  that  the  industrialization projects  result  in  the dehumanizing people. A proper  industrialization must place people as the subject, not the object, of  the  entire process of  industrialization. Far  from  an ambition  to present a complete solution to the current crises faced by Muslims, the need to formulate a new blue-print of  industrialization-based Islamic education will be elaborated by this paper.

Abstract

Fiqh al-aqalliyyat plays an important role in addressing the unique challenges faced by Muslim minority communities in multicultural societies. In multicultural societies, where diversity and multiple cultures are embraced, issues relating to values, culture, and customs can lead to discrimination or marginalisation of certain groups. Therefore, it is important to promote equality, inclusion and non-discrimination, which allows all individuals to feel valued, respected and have equal access to opportunities. Muslim minority groups, such as Shia Muslims and Ahmadiyya Muslims, face particular challenges in a multicultural society like Indonesia. The study of fiqh al-aqalliyyat in multicultural societies, particularly in Indonesia, aims to understand how Islamic law is applied to Muslim minority communities and their religious practices. Qualitative research using concept analysis is used to examine fiqh al-aqalliyyat from the perspective of Yusuf al-Qaradawi. Data source triangulation and content analysis techniques were used to collect and analyse primary and secondary data. In conclusion, fiqh al-aqalliyyat plays an important role in addressing the challenges faced by Muslim minority communities in a multicultural society. By adopting a comprehensive approach that considers various aspects of their lives, fiqh al-aqalliyyat aims to promote the rights, obligations, and welfare of minority groups while respecting Islamic principles. The development and application of fiqh al-aqalliyyat are constantly evolving to adapt to the ever-changing realities and contexts faced by Muslim minority communities.

Abstract

Inter-religious tolerance is one of the noble values of Islam that is important to be maintained and preserved. Efforts to increase tolerance can be made in several ways, one of which is through education. This article reviews the importance of integrating cultural values in the Islamic religious education curriculum as a strategy to reduce the potential for radicalism and increase intercultural tolerance in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review (SLR), using the Google Scholar and Scopus databases using the Publish or Perish 8 tool with the PRISMA technique. The search results found a total of 332 articles, then excluded 42 articles that were retained for analysis and assessed for quality and relevance according to the research questions. The results of this study show that the majority of research focuses on the Indonesian context, which sees an urgent need for tolerance education in pluralistic societies. Diverse research approaches, ranging from the development of multicultural education programs to religious text-based learning models, show the dynamics of teaching tolerance. The findings also highlight the importance of interactive and participatory learning methods and the critical role of local wisdom in tolerance education. By presenting a comprehensive literature review, this article provides valuable insights for policymakers, educational practitioners, and researchers in designing effective educational strategies to counter radicalism and strengthen intercultural tolerance through Islamic religious education.
